I’m a 32 year old white man who’s inspired by this man way of thinking, his integrity, & his heart. I struggled my whole life and watched my middle class (if you will) parents work every day to provide for my family. To this day they are still working to make sure their bills are paid. I was thought to see the good in people and to treat others as you would want them to treat yourself or your moms & pops, with respect. In my humble opinion, Its not as much about color as it is about status ... it’s about rich & poor. They’re white people being oppressed as well. They’re millions ofsuccessful black, latino, colored people. The U.S. government shits on poor/middle classes of ALL RACES!! This man (King Tone) is a great man IMO. My god bless him and everybody reading this.
William Relyea: You don’t understand... In the american system there is a great difference in the treatment of people of color and the treatment of whites across all comparable economic classes. You’d have to live in the skin to truly know and understand the reality.
Thank you for your transparency. I understand your point. Class is a real social structure in the world. And, Colonial settlers brought that concept to this land with them. In the 15th century those settlers brought indentured servants who originated from France, England Africa, Ireland, the Netherlands etc. After those mens served their time working to on this land they were allowed to marry and acquire land. The Anglo-Saxons/upper class/landlords began to observe that the former indentured servants were marryung Anglo-Saxon women, who were in short supply. At that time in the 1600's African men and Anglo-Saxon women freely married each other. Remember, this was before Africans were brought to this land for Chattel Slavery. This, coupled with "Bacon's Rebellion" (research this) wherein the poor, who consisted of anyone who was not Anglo-Saxon, rebellled against the ruling one percent. The united poor people nearly defeated the ruling one percent and the one percent were afraid and strategized to divide the poor class up. What do you think the Anglo-Saxons/Colonials/One percent decided the distinguishing feature would be to divide the poor class? The color of skin. Research, "The Maryland law of 1681," which was the first time "white" would be legally used to describe a human classification. The one percent used hunger, the need for land, punishment to convince the "newly created White" class to distance themselves from the newly created "black class." Therefore, the one thing a poor class White person could say was 'at least I'm not Black.' And, to this day U.S. was created on race a social structure and poor and middle class White's are used by the one percent to maintain the hierarchy. As a Black African-American man I have never met a poor or middle class White man say, "I wish I were a Black man." Why, because if a White man has a cold, a Black man has the flu. In order for us to reunite this country, we need for people who identify as White to dismantle Whiteness. But, don't take my word for it, do your own research.
I wanted to cry watching this interview. I’m black and was in Franklin k lane when he became the leader. I was scared to death of him and we was beefing with the Latin kings. I escaped death and jail just dealing with the things he’s speaking about. I wouldn’t change that for the world because even though I was scared to death I stood tall and it made me strong enough for the rest of the world. I love him for that, and I can say that it’s a fact that he changed as a man for the better. I hope I get the opportunity to run into him again and let him know the affect he had on my life

King Tone is a VERY INTELLIGENT man and has alot to share with all these young kids. He can make a difference in his community and amongst ALOT of people. Let this man teach and watch how things will get better in his community.
Vlad, there are many reasons why this is your best and most powerful interview. 1) It's a story of redemption. King Tone didn't make any excuses for his choices. He paid his debt to society, isn't glorifying his path in life in anyway, and he's trying to prevent more "King Tones" from emerging. 2) You didn't interrupt him with questions about useless gossip and trivia (mostly cuz he wouldn't allow you haha) 3) His explanation for why he's mad at Tekashi 69 is the most reasonable of any of your guests. If you did more interviews like this you would graduate from being a "culture vulture" and move away the sensationalism and tabloid path that you're currently on.

I became a Latin King because of King tone. I came across his documentary while I was living in Florida at 16 and saw the beautiful things he was doing for our people and what he stood for. I joined because I love my ppl and I wanted to protect my ppl. MySpace was new and I started meeting young Latin kings who were 14, 15, and 16. Their leader was in the run and left them abandoned. I took them in and I would preach to them the same words I heard tone preach to me “ a king doesn’t judge a man by the color of his flag but by the content of his character “ . Some older Latin kings who were sanctioned and had a tribe in Miami saw me wearing beads and Latin kind colors at a party . They pulled me aside. They checked my knowledge. Checked my oath. Checked my handshake. I told them that I had 12 other “brothers & sisters” I was leading. They brought us all together. 3 months later I was in jail at 18 years old and was sentenced to 10 years in prison. I came home at 28 yrs old 4 years ago. I spent my first 3 years in 23 hour lockdown in a room by my self. I found God. I was changed. Since I’ve came home I refused to report. Instead I’ve spent time helping other brothers and sisters “Grow up” and realize the nation was created to show them they are true kings and queens because of our blood line, and that u no longer need to report to “Be a king”. The nation is not the same. What I signed up for wasn’t what I got. But the knowledge received was beautiful and did give me identity when I needed it.
I was king also and I dont report because it's not structured with great leaders but I'm pride of my experience I learn what I have and it made me better

Tone is charismatic enough to have been an Actor. I could see him in American Me, Blood in/Out, etc. I guess you have to be charismatic to be the leader of a '' Gang ''.
Blood in Blood out and American Me was about The Mexican Mafia , Not Puerto Ricans bud. I absolutely understand what you mean about King Tones Charisma but they would have to film a movie specifically about LK’s and how PR gangs came up and established themselves in American Culture.
A lot of people died after Edward James Almos filmed that movie. I’m sure a lot of us seen the interview with Danny Trejo and EJA ... there were a lot of mistakes made pertaining to the filming and portrayal of Joe Morgan and the rest of the guys who eventually became known as Le Eme or the Mexican Mafia.
Richard Gray the Latin Kings are not a “Puerto Rican” gang. I’m a Latin King from Chicago. There’s a good number of Puerto Rican Latin Kings on the North side. But most of the Latin Kings throughout Chicago are Mexican. In New York there mostly Puerto Rican. But the movement started here in Chicago as a Mexican and Puerto Rican movement. The U.S. government shits on
poor/middle classes of ALL RACES!!
This man (King Tone)
is a great man IMO.
My god bless him and everybody reading this.
William Relyea:
You don’t understand... In the american system there is a great difference in the treatment of people of color and the treatment of whites across all comparable economic classes. You’d have to live in the skin to truly know and understand the reality.
@@roblane5699 that's bullshit. Stop making excuses for bad behaviour
@@wostep what does a history book have to do with their bad behaviour? Or condoning it? Why bother opening your mouth with nothing to say?
The one percent used hunger, the need for land, punishment to convince the "newly created White" class to distance themselves from the newly created "black class."
Therefore, the one thing a poor class White person could say was 'at least I'm not Black.' And, to this day U.S. was created on race a social structure and poor and middle class White's are used by the one percent to maintain the hierarchy.

In spite of Vlad? Vlads a scumbag whom I can't stand...but this was one of his better efforts... King Tone talked a whole lot of bullshit... literal nonsense that doesn't make grammatical or logical sense... talked in circles when asked simple questions... tries to make himself seem magnamous for what he did, yet comes up with every excuses in the boom as to why he's a victim... fuck out of here

King Tone is a VERY INTELLIGENT man and has alot to share with all these young kids. He can make a difference in his community and amongst ALOT of people. Let this man teach and watch how things will get better in his community.
Much respect King Tone, god bless you.

This is what a real education looks like.
