    Back in '99 and through about '06, little did they know just how long lasting those trucks would really be. Our company is still driving a '99 Tahoe with nearly 400k miles on it, and an '02 Suburban with around 340k miles on it. And they just continue to keep going somehow. They are properly maintained, but still, they're used for real work, every single day of the week, for twenty years, it's insane.

Both are solid choices given the nature of our job. We drive from manhole to manhole and spray pesticide. So all day long we drive, put in park for a min then drive... hundreds of times. This is while carrying a tank that weighs up to 1200lbs. Tough trucks. The new ones are garbage well that and the Dodge trucks. Yah... just stay away from Dodge, those broke down all the time.

      +Red Venom because times change sadly remember when cartoon Network and Nickelodeon were amazing now they are garbage remember when TV was good now it's a bunch of reality shows remember when youtube was good it's now a bunch of people who lie to their viewers times change and companies have to change with it or they would be considered irrelevant Chevy did do one of these commircals in 2013 for the 2014 Chevy Silverado Bob Seger stopped letting them use this the like a rock song when the commircals became garbage and I don't blame him

    • @grantweder4835
      @grantweder4835 7 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      True, I have to also agree with you on the Cartoon Network thing, they are turning it into Nickelodeon, with all the weird kids show. In my opinion, they should've just remade Boomerang. But back to Chevrolet, they could start fixing the commercials. The "Real People, Not Actors" commercial was such a joke for the Chevy commercials, they need to start bringing back Action commercials such as the 2014 Apocalypse Super Bowl commercial. The fans loved seeing Action-Commercials while still adding a little describing of how good the truck is compared to the others. All I'm saying is they need to fix these "Real People". If I'm correct, they started "Real Chevy Workers" too.

    The reason why they ended the Like a Rock ad campaigns was because after gm was reborn, they changed advertising companies and left Campbell Ewald who pioneered the Like a Rock ad campaign all those years, They did this as part of the rebirth of the GM brand and Chevy. Times changed and so has the Chevy truck ads. The Like a Rock ad campaign was a long and successful one perhaps most known of all.

When he pulled down that dirt road to grandmas house, it was the most beautiful damn truck you have ever seen. Dark Grey with Black down the middle 2 tone with orangish red and silver stripe dividing the colors. My mom was pissed because he didn’t get the extended cab. (Family of 4) he maintains that they were sold out of extended cabs but I’ll bet dollars to donuts he wanted that color. Unfortunately the Kansas winters rusted it away. I’d love to find one that color I never see them. I’ll never forget how pretty it was. And I’ll never forget sneaking out with it in high school. Instant torque from tbi 350.

    I just purchased my first GMC last month. A 1998 2500 5.7 8V sierra with camper top! 160,000 miles For $1700 off Craigslist the previous owner had sat her for a very long time. Had to throw in an alternator,radiator, fuel pump but now this thing is a beast. All in $3000

    02 Silverado in the drive-way my grandfather ordered brand new in 01 and used on the farm till the day he died. 413k miles on it and dad still drives it to work every single day.
    13 Sierra with 305k miles on it that im driving to work everyday. Besides basic routine maintenance, all I have done is replaced 2 sets of wheel hubs and installed an AFM disabler.

    Chevrolet needs to return their advertising to this! The is a reason why it lasted twenty years instead of what they are doing now.

    What I remember from these commercials was that the whole country was happy at least much happier than most are today. Life was easier and definitely more affordable.
