Well in my opinion & comment Chevy builds the most adaptable power there ever has been even for a hot rod they've knock Ford outta the box ever since 1968. As far as Ford Chevy and Dodge go in comparison these days they are in definite competing competition as to which one will rust away faster under the road salts in certain states. As far as Dodge they build the most ill riding most un-user unfriendly piece of shit there ever was or ever will be. Dodge can stick their Hemi power up their own asses if ya can't build a transmission worth a shit. They're all getting to be about the same. Nothing but heartache from the day ya take em home off the lot and the dealers more corrupt than Pelosi and Adam Shifty on their bullshit warranties... Dodge by far loses the market due to their own sheer stupidity. Dodge builds a potent motor with no trans behind it and little if any aftermarket speed parts.. Well there are many reasons, like inflation, higher manufacturing cost with safety features, better engineering etc. I do wish there were better options though.

If you got a diesel vs. Gasoline torque test, a diesel would pull 3x harder. The higher compression makes much more torque, not to mention the turbos and adding boost.

My Grandad has a 1974 Chevy custom deluxe 10 with a 454 motor So far is been pretty damn dependable because it’s the only truck in the family and it still kicks ass
Chevys are unreliable pieces of shit, I've owned a cavalier and a Silverado, my sister owned a traverse, and they have all broken down in the first 2 years of ownership, luckily we grew up and started buying toyota.

I have a 67 F100, and a 65 C10. The 67 is mine and the 65 C10 was my Dad's. Both with a 4 on the floor. The Chevy has a posi rear end, but I got laid by a red head in the ford. They need to bring back bench seats.

Bruh these old truck commercials are dope but we we aren't seeing are some of the legit weeiird old dodge commercials. Old Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth commercials had some of the most oddly fascinating surgically scientific showoffs tests that youd ever seen. Like they're were HELLA trying to sell you something - but it was all scientificly tested and almost felt detached. There's a saying of "Chrysler was king in the 60's" and it's due to how oddly and seriously their engineering was. Same reason why Mopars are always kind of left out of the whole Ford vs Chevy thing. They were doing their own weird ass thing that somehow kicked ass. But mannnn did that travel through some of their commercials. You wanna see a funny one check out the "Turboencabulator" where they make fun of themselves in their own style.

IF you could buy a compact pickup these days, you couldn't do it for less than $17,000 unless it's used. And while the price goes up, the quality goes down. This is true with Ford, Chevy, and Dodge. Awesome seeing those vintage commercials.
i have a 92 chevy k2500 and it is the infamous two tone red and white and they had to recall this paint style because of how much the paint chipped off and mine is chipped everywhere on the paint

My husband has had lie 5 S-10's and they all was great. He ran 1 in the creek. Jammed 1 in reverse and had to drive off a KY strip job to home in reverse. ..lol...he sold the others, and hit a tree with the blazer S-10, it was bad...lol...
IN all of the Chevy and most ford commercials they are compairing Chevy to ford but Dodge is never mentioned also the best dodge commercial is when they introduced the hemi in a truck

Like they stuck the V10 out of a viper into a little pickup because "why not" lol. Or the fact that while everyone else was throwing 4 bangers and V6s into compact/midsizes, they decided to say fuck it and put a V8 in the Dakota. Even to this day they say "why not?" And build some enthusiast's wet dream like a 1000 ho crate engine or a 700 hp offroad truck like the TRX that'll be coming out soon.
Historically, Dodge was never mentioned because (sales wise, for this discussion) they were never in contention for first or second place in those sales categories. In those commercials' era, Dodge didn't waste their advertising budget picking on the other two brands; they simply created commercials demonstrating their product and why it would meet your needs. Although I'm not a Dodge proponent, this is absolutely respectable.
I highly doubt it would even come close to out pulling my 08 LMM deleted and EFI Live tuned Duramax diesel. She'll also do 0-60 in the 4 second range. Pulls 60 to 120 faster than most trucks going from 0 to 60. Gets 22mpg daily driving. It's my 5th truck and the best one I've ever had. Hasn't lost to a SuperDuty or Cummins yet and hasn't lost to a gas burner either.
You cant haul more than a chevy today. You might really like your truck, but a 292 isnt hauling the same as a new truck today. Not even anywhere close.

These commercials were cool, look we can tow a jet, look we can climb a mountain, look our truck can tow faster than yours, they showed men WORKING. Today its look our moon roof is bigger, look we have led lights, look we have a built in tampon dispenser.

It's funny, grandpa always told me chevy had the chrome, ford the fit and Finish and dodge the drivetrain. You dont see alot alot of dodge trucks anymore because they had rust problems, old fords tend to have drivetrain issues from either poor design or abuse. Chevy tends to usually last longer being the middle ground having a decent drivetrain and allright body but still not in the number of the ford. On the other hand you got Toyota 70s-90s pickups which were not made in a full sized but they can be left to rot in a field and with about an hour of work start up like it had been running the whole time. I know this from personal experience and my yota sat for 12 years and just threw some gas in the carburetor and it fired right up. That being said what if chevy, dodge and ford had collaborated? They would have made a monster of a truck.
Anybody hear that dodge rattling as it bounced along the dirt road...yikes !! Would have like to have seen the ol Chevy commercial when they say “we’re blowing up the competition “ and actually blow up a Ford. Then ford makes a commercial thanking Chevy for buying one of their trucks. Also the one where a guy backs his boat down the launch, cuts back to two guys talking, “wow that thing went down fast” ! “Yeah, like a rock” as it cuts back to the truck half under water... I have a 67 F100, and a 65 C10. The 67 is mine and the 65 C10 was my Dad's. Both with a 4 on the floor. The Chevy has a posi rear end, but I got laid by a red head in the ford. They need to bring back bench seats.
Id take any of the earlier year trucks by any of the big 3 companies. Love the basic styling and also just simplistic ruggedness.

I agree... because a rock never moves under its own power. This was universally made fun of in the professional industry. Ford actually made a commercial highlighting this around the the same time as Dodge's "The rules have changed" commercials. Ford roasted them in the same ad by pointing out the absurdity of changing the rules "... to a game you can't win."

Bruh these old truck commercials are dope but we we aren't seeing are some of the legit weeiird old dodge commercials. Old Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth commercials had some of the most oddly fascinating surgically scientific showoffs tests that youd ever seen. Like they're were HELLA trying to sell you something - but it was all scientificly tested and almost felt detached. There's a saying of "Chrysler was king in the 60's" and it's due to how oddly and seriously their engineering was. Same reason why Mopars are always kind of left out of the whole Ford vs Chevy thing. They were doing their own weird ass thing that somehow kicked ass. But mannnn did that travel through some of their commercials. You wanna see a funny one check out the "Turboencabulator" where they make fun of themselves in their own style.

Dodge is garbage always have been always Will be.100 years in and they still can't build a transmission or wire one correctly.we had a SRT with 7 miles on it come through, they said it's totaled,I said what are you talking about,it looks brand new,then I opened the door and it was gutted, the sunroof caught on fire in the showroom and almost burned the whole dealership down.

It is a FACT that Ford didn't NEED to take the bailout because, UNLIKE those manufacturers that did, Ford built cars of better quality and were successful at continuing to sell them. After decades in the industry, I can describe it most easily with this statement we used to communicate the difference in engineering: Most other manufacturers want to sell you your NEXT car. Ford wants to sell you your next FIVE cars.
I was born in ‘98 so most of these commercials are before my time. But these commercials are just more inviting and have more character than the ones today

Step 5: Remove as many of the prior commercials from your advertising history as practical to support Step 4. (not always possible in the age of video platforms).

Like they stuck the V10 out of a viper into a little pickup because "why not" lol. Or the fact that while everyone else was throwing 4 bangers and V6s into compact/midsizes, they decided to say fuck it and put a V8 in the Dakota. Even to this day they say "why not?" And build some enthusiast's wet dream like a 1000 ho crate engine or a 700 hp offroad truck like the TRX that'll be coming out soon.
Historically, Dodge was never mentioned because (sales wise, for this discussion) they were never in contention for first or second place in those sales categories. In those commercials' era, Dodge didn't waste their advertising budget picking on the other two brands; they simply created commercials demonstrating their product and why it would meet your needs. Although I'm not a Dodge proponent, this is absolutely respectable.
I’ve had all three types of trucks and I’m glad to say that the trucks are way better than the commercials. Those were pretty awful, but I love it.

I have a '60 with a 292 Y-block, one of the best running trucks I've ever owned.
I highly doubt it would even come close to out pulling my 08 LMM deleted and EFI Live tuned Duramax diesel. She'll also do 0-60 in the 4 second range. Pulls 60 to 120 faster than most trucks going from 0 to 60. Gets 22mpg daily driving. It's my 5th truck and the best one I've ever had. Hasn't lost to a SuperDuty or Cummins yet and hasn't lost to a gas burner either.
You cant haul more than a chevy today. You might really like your truck, but a 292 isnt hauling the same as a new truck today. Not even anywhere close.

It's funny, grandpa always told me chevy had the chrome, ford the fit and Finish and dodge the drivetrain. You dont see alot alot of dodge trucks anymore because they had rust problems, old fords tend to have drivetrain issues from either poor design or abuse. Chevy tends to usually last longer being the middle ground having a decent drivetrain and allright body but still not in the number of the ford. On the other hand you got Toyota 70s-90s pickups which were not made in a full sized but they can be left to rot in a field and with about an hour of work start up like it had been running the whole time. I know this from personal experience and my yota sat for 12 years and just threw some gas in the carburetor and it fired right up. That being said what if chevy, dodge and ford had collaborated? They would have made a monster of a truck.

Would have like to have seen the ol Chevy commercial when they say “we’re blowing up the competition “ and actually blow up a Ford. Then ford makes a commercial thanking Chevy for buying one of their trucks. Also the one where a guy backs his boat down the launch, cuts back to two guys talking, “wow that thing went down fast” ! “Yeah, like a rock” as it cuts back to the truck half under water...
