    Cole is a hobby marathoner and has run 9 marathons! Haven races (half) marathons as her extracurricular focus to show colleges that she has grit! Evan aims to qualify for the Olympic Trials in the marathon for the 2028 LA Olympics. Dmax is golfer turned runner seeking happiness through his running journey. Dr. Denny is a marathoner looking to achieve the Abbott World Marathon Major Six Star. Father Daniel uses marathoning as an exercise to strengthen his soul for God’s work at Our Lady of Peace Korean Catholic Center. Anita is a hybrid athlete when she’s not fixing people’s smiles. Alex is a mountain ultra runner, drones, and coaches Evan. MK (video narrator) is a marathoner and coaches the kids as well as other athletes.

    Great job on your long runs yesterday everybody!!!
    Mine didn't go so well and I ended up missing my weekly mileage goal by 2-3 kms. I overheated. The weather here yesterday was pretty variable. The first 40 minutes of my run was cool and drizzly but once the rain stopped, the clouds cleared and it got warm fast. I chose to dress for the drizzly weather not expecting the clouds to clear and I paid the price. At around 31-32 kms I overheated and couldn't keep going. I felt a bit dejected for not hitting my first ever 100 km week goal and licked my wounds last night. I felt better when I woke up this morning though, shook off the disappointment and did my 5 km recovery run and 1 hour of yoga all fired up to make my 100 km in a week goal this week.
    To get to the 35 km long run effort I will change my strategy a bit. I will carry more fluid. I had 1 litre with me yesterday but that was not enough. I drank all of it and still lost 8 lbs. on my run. I will drop the 2 5oo ml flasks I normally carry and fill the 1.5 litre' back bladder I have and carry that in my hydration vest. I will also change my fueling strategy to hit the spaces a bit differently. Third, I will dress for the latter part of my long run and not for comfort in the first part of it. On to the next!!

    Looks like a great group for the church of the long run. Wish I lived closer, I could at least start with you all. I'm running my first 5k in 5 years on the 4th, but haven't done any specific 5k training since I have just been marathon focused. It will just be for fun. Can't wait to see how you all do in yours. Team work makes the dream work!
