What a great work out for everyone!! TD looked like I felt yesterday, tired but satisfied.
I did it. 35 km run in the books..... my first ever 100 km week!!
I am not going to lie, yesterday was tough. It was 26-27 Celsius throughout the run. I completed it but I needed to take a couple of shade breaks at km 26 and km 32..... and I ran out of fluid at km 32. Yup, I emptied a 1.5 litre hydration bladder.
I felt pretty good for the first 20-25 km and then the heat hit and I knew I needed to take some short breaks in the shade to cool down. That helped and while the restarts felt a bit difficult after a 100 m or so I would get rolling again and feel ok. It was pretty satisfying to get it done and hit that 100 km goal for the week for the first time ever and prove to myself that I could do it. This week will be a down week, maybe 60-70 km, and then I am going to start adding more intensity back into my running at 80-90 km per week. Also..... spring runoff is pretty much done so its time to hit the trails and get in some vert!
Have a great week everyone and thanks for the inspiration.

@@allheartrc it is going to be even hotter here for the rest of this week..... it is 30 C today and will be low to mid 30's for the rest of the week.
I am usually good in the mid-20's but I guess I underestimated the impact of that temperature at a longer distance..... this week will be a good lower volume recovery week to lock in the benefits of the work over the last two weeks.
Thanks for the encouragement. It is going to be fun to see how much it helps me on some of the longer mountain adventures I want to tackle this summer.
