Random question, how were there so many walkers heading downhill ahead of you on the course. Competing in a shorter loop? Just local hikers out that day? Seemed a bit chaotic for those running a faster pace.
I was thinking the same thing? Did they not know it was a race? Seemed one mistep or someone gets startled and bumps into on accident
The full marathon started sooner maybe?
Those are racers for the marathon distance. It starts 3 hours before the half (630a vs 930a).
No water ready and don’t know what the bib is… oof head scratcher haha

Great job out there! I was also there racing the Heavy Half (first Leadville event!) and it was a blast. I didn't know you were racing until I saw your name in the results and was delighted. It had to have been you that I saw crushing the downhill while I was still dragging my way uphill. It was fun to see how hard you were working. Congrats!
