Don't quit. You have a sincerity and an eye that TH-cam needs. That shot at 0:27 is so typical of the beautiful image that the Helios provides. It's a lens with such rare character, though a lens that's easy to find. I just grabbed mine the other day for the same reason. To give myself a nudge to get out and shoot again. Thank you for making this beautiful little film and for sharing your beautiful daughter and wife with us. Well done.
I really enjoy watching your videos, you've got a great gift. Always inspirational, informative and visually stunning, please keep up the great work! I finally got my FP L last month and we've been glued to the hip since.
Welcome to the fp family! And thank you so much for your kinda words. Inspiration is so important to me, so it means a lot to hear that my content provides inspiration for others.
Awesome video! Mine will be here at the end of May. (Shipping is taking forever). This is the first that I’ve heard of this filter though. Great work as usual man!
The more I watch Sigma FP content the more i become convinced this camera has the exact same "total" dynamic range in video as the newer sony mirrorless ones. They must be operating at 12bit linear readout aswell. Although this sensor seems to function a lot more like a red camera when it cones to its ISO and midgray
Great shots Btw, What were the setting for the sigma fp that you shot with? 4k 12 bit raw? also could you please show how you color graded it, the video has a beautiful natural look to it
Thanks! And yes, 4k 12 bit raw graded in the Arri color space. Will definitely make a grading tutorial for this one. I actually went very simple and did most of the work in the primaries
Welcome to the world of anamofake lens 🎉 really great shoots 😍 why u don't anamorfake directly the lens ? It's very easy and not expensive too. I anamorfake the helios 44-2 and 44m4, others vintage lenses and all my modern TTartisan's lens for my eos.
Never tried it before! It would probably be a lot easier than the filter, which is actually quite tricky to use. Any “anamorfake” products or brands you recommend? Also, thanks for watching! 🙏🏾
It's funny to see how in the West people are amazed by these helios and other soviet garbage when this cult has long been debunked in those places from where helioses come to you We had this cult somewhere at the dawn of the era of digital SLRs and it went away around the middle of the tenth. Nobody wanted to hear about any “character” or “bokeh” anymore. If someone started praising soviet optics, there was a feeling like “for God’s sake, not again, try Takumar or Nikkor”. The advantage of Helios was that they were cheap. Zenit was on the shelf of an old closet in every second soviet family. In fact, I bought a Zenith with Helios for $12 in 2012. And it was really a free lens for beginner photographers, that was its niche. Then mirrorless cameras, video, and the West discovered these Helios and then tiktok, guys like you, blah blah blah character, bokeh - and they skyrocketed in price. Now I can’t recommend Helios to anyone, because it is no longer cheaper than some real lenses, like Minolta or Yashica.
I’m a big fan of Nikkor as well. And agreed, these trends are cyclical and their popularity goes up and down, in and out. For me it’s a little bit more personal. I sat on this beauty for years before really taking notice of its capabilities and I think I’ve found a look/aesthetic that I’ll be revisiting for some time
the last shot stole my heart
She does that to me almost every day!
So familiar. Enjoy the time as it files off in the end. Excellent
That’s what I keep telling myself. She’s changing SO fast. Thanks for the advice

All natural light the shots of ur family? If so....bloody hell what a lens
All natural light. No artificial light sources in this video except for the some bounced light for the shots of the lens itself.
Hi Dykan , Can you zoom while recording with sigma fp using a zoom lense ?
For sure
@@DylColeman thank you 😊

@@DylColeman it's DIY, type this on the seach bar for Tito vidéo / Make any lens anamorphic : modifications and oval inserts, you will learn a lot 😊
