Hello, As mentioned by you that to detect any electricity leakage; the load should show zero on all the 3 phases. Should the power factor also show zero?
In my home we got a bill of 1.75L last month and around 20000units consumed as per meter. Its a closed home only a refrigerator is working . As per KSEB there is some leakage and no issue withe meter. We have called 3 electrician to check none of them found any issue with wiring or earth . They told its has a automatic trip switch so if any leakage it will cut off . We updated same to KSEB so they installed a parallel meter and told no issue with meter and we need to pay the bill. Am not sure where is the issue. Our usual bill is around 300-500rs range. On Aug month also we got a bil of 5k and we complained . KSEB people came and checked and told no isssues in meter so we paid this amount . New new bill is 1.75 L . After august we were monitoring this meter reading on daily basis it was around 2-3units per day. We thought its working fine so for a week we didn't take reading. After a week when we checked it s showing as 20k consumption. If there is a leakage can it run so much? Also if leakage is there it should show 200 units per day as per the latest reading but here meter ran this much in a week time .
this is serious issue because payment is too high... 200 unit per day means... 8.33 KW load per hour... that is if single phase 41.6 A.... so if this leakage is happening this not small it should be visible... or if single phase SFU fuse which normally 32 A should go... I can not comment much on it ... without seeing.. but it should checked by good electrician..
@@shishiram thanks a lot for replying. Already 3 people checked and found no issues as per them if any leak it will auto cutoff . Per kseb people are not willing to listen . So going for a case is the option. This much u it's was consumed in a week actually when we stopped taking reading.
Hi, I have a 5kw single phase solar connection at my home. And 3 phase net meter . First few months the export was more than the import (avg imp- 250 and avg exp- 500) Then suddenly one month the import was 750 and export was 391 ( this is one month bill) Now for few months its been going on like this the import is more than the export... So i tried this method to check if there is any leakage ...turned off everything ..then checked the load currents Lr -5.5A Ly- 0.00 Lb - 0.00 So i tried turning off each mcb’s still i got the same reading...then elcb i turned off ..same reading...then turned off the SDF from the meter-still same reading. Lr was around 5.5A. Then i tuned of the the main switch of the solar meter single phase ...the the reading in the net meter Lr became 0.00 So what should i do ...is it normal to show load current in net meter if only solar meter is on?

You said PW need not be taken seriously by domestic consumer . But the current calculation is watt in to time divided by 1000 into PF (1000&PF) so if PF is less than 0.9 say 0.7 or .08 then reading will be high . Kindly clarify .

many chance are there... 1. induction voltage from phase and neutral 2. leakage due to week insulation 3. neutral overload...like many loads connected one neutral.. so on...

You said PF (power factor) need not be taken seriously for demestic consumer .But I think it had effect for reading . Because calculation for current consumption is watt in to time divided by 1000 (PF) If power factor is less then reading will be high . Kindly clarify
