    It always amazes me that two tiny bits of metal is all thats holding things together.. I'm fairly new to jewellery making. I Enjoy watching yout channel very much. I'm inspired, thank you

      Thank you so much, Denise. They are quite strong pieces of metal! I think it's also about spreading the load across the different components. If you have a really heavy focal, for example, you might want to add a second jump ring, etc.

    Beautiful necklace! Thank you so much. FYI, I like to put a drop of glue inside my bead tips before I close them. Don't know why, it just makes me feel more secure!😊

      Ha ha, Debbie, I can relate to that. I'm always a bit paranoid about things coming apart too. My thing is jump rings - I'm always worried that they aren't closed properly. Thank you so much.

    I love those bead tips. You don't have to attach unnecessary jump rings, especially when you use closed jump rings on the end without the clasp to ensure that it doesn't open while wearing it, like I do.

    Thank you for a video on how to make this very beautiful necklace. I also would like to thank you for showing me that I was using bead tips incorrectly. I have always had a problem getting them to look neat. I would put a crimp then through the bead tip a 15 seed bead back through the bead tip and the crimp. ❤😂I have been beating for many years.

      @@The_Stylish_Maker Well, you've spoiled me. I was watching a tutorial from a different channel - one I use to watch frequently - and all I did the whole time was comparing instructor to you. I was thinking things like ... She didn't explain that very well. She didn't show that clearly. She's not cleaning up her work area. The poor woman! Even her vocal inflections, which I hadn't really noticed before, were driving me crazy - Why is she ending ever sentence like it's a question? Honestly, I don't even remember what she was making. This is beautiful Carol, I love your darker more boho pieces and this will definitely be going on my ‘to make’ list! And it’s lovely to have you back, you were missed! Are you back shipping to the UK again if I have trouble sourcing any of the beads here? By the way have you thought about making up kits to sell for your pieces, that would be great 😊

      Hi Jane, thank you so much. I'm so pleased you liked this one. I think it will be one of my favourites too. I've worn it a couple of times and it feels good. Yes, we are back shipping internationally. I have thought about making kits - I do for some items but they don't tend to sell very well. Also, often I have only a few of the beads left so it's kind of first come first served. I'm intending to change all of that in the near future so might do more kits. If you would like a kit for this one, just email me via the shop and I will make one up for you.

    Hello Carol, I really in enjoyed watching your videos. Very helpful. I learn a few things watching them. I have a couple of question. 1. Can you do a video explaining the purpose of the French Wire? 2. Can you do a video talking about the difference in the wire for making bracelet and necklaces, sizes and different brands? I went to buy some and I wasn't sure on what size I should get and there was so many different brands. Even on your site you had different sizes. Please help.

    • @The_Stylish_Maker
      @The_Stylish_Maker  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Betty, I'm glad you enjoy the videos. I have used French wire several times in my videos. It's usually used with thread to stop the wire (of a jump ring for example) wearing the thread out. I often use it as a decorative piece too. Here are a couple of videos for you to watch on using French wire:
      th-cam.com/video/pqaK1hyZ7ig/w-d-xo.htmlsi=KIYKmSxamLoDNJDH
      th-cam.com/video/gU0pLeDD4VM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=BHNaMnE2je1aSR4o
      The video about stringing material is on the list to do but it is quite a way down. There are so many different brands that it is hard to choose. If it helps, I most often use a 0.38mm tiger tail for stringing necklaces and bracelets. Some have told me that they have trouble with tiger tail stretching but I've never had this problem. Softflex is a good wire. a 0.19 is a medium beading wire. I hope that helps.

  • @jenshouse
    @jenshouse 12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    Hi there from Canada! 🇨🇦 I love the necklace. I'm not a Beader, I'm a wire wraper and silver smith, but I'm curious... why do you crush the crimp beads with your chain nose pliers instead of using a crimp bead crimping plier that crimps them twice in different directions instead of just once and only flat? Is it just personal preference? Do you not like the way they work, or the result, maybe? Have you had a bad experience with them not working well, or is it something else? Have you maybe not heard of them before? I look forward to hearing from you and btw, I've enjoyed several of your videos! ❤

    • @The_Stylish_Maker
      @The_Stylish_Maker  10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Welcome, Jen from Canada. I actually mostly use my Magical Crimping Pliers. It really depends on who the tutorial is aimed at. Beginners have told me that they struggle with using crimping pliers and folding them over - I know I did when I first started - so I teach people to do it in multiple ways. If you want my video all about crimping, you will see all the ways I use crimp tubes - th-cam.com/video/xVHTcoYs9rU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=J8ZgZzCOmdSl7rb2
      In the past, I've only had one crimp fail (when I've crimped it correctly) and it was a folded crimp so it's not my first choice. As I said, I mostly use the Magical Crimping Plier.
      I hope that answers your question.
