Thank you so much. Hi from New Zealand. Here's a link for the tutorial for the necklace I'm wearing in this video. th-cam.com/video/HZM-kQ45Kck/w-d-xo.htmlsi=7LgmHYeOqKmMnGWK
Thank you for such an easy to follow along with video! Also, thank you for mentioning how one aspect of making your prototype nearly had you in tears. As a new jewelry maker I often struggle with how to make something work the way I’ve pictured it in my head. I get frustrated and feel like I will never be able to do this. Knowing others go through similar things is really helpful to me and gives me the confidence to carry on.
You are very welcome, Amy. I'm so pleased you found this useful. Yes, we all struggle sometimes - last week I went to film a video and, honestly, you would think I'd never made a loop before! Lol.
As always watching your tutorial was a built like having a cup coffee with a friend. Your presentation allows us to laugh with you and at ourselves. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Deborah, did you mean the earrings or are you talking about the necklace I was wearing in the video? You can find that tutorial here: th-cam.com/video/25F6rPzdNzI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=nVHSpK2XFu8F3d69
@@The_Stylish_Maker The necklace! I'd just watched you make it with the beads that look like candy. And don't you know, I went and ordered some square beads after I was the video because, well, I wouldn't have thought to mix them with other beads and you inspired me. Thanks!
Thank you for showing us step by step instructions. I’ve watched many videos on how to make loops and your videos have been the only ones that have actually helped me make perfect loops!! ❤❤❤
Thank you so much, Melanie. Did you watch this one? It goes into way more detail about how to make loops and correct the ones that go wrong. th-cam.com/video/dcEQ3SV_pyk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=QHfGD8njLQIuIGkG
Thank you so much for getting back with me so quick I will give that a try you are truly the only one that actually had an answer every one else that I asked said with time it will get easier just hang there well it wasn't getting easier just more frustrating so thank you again
Just discovered your channel and subscribed, as I am getting back into jewelry making. I enjoy how you explain and show the project and enjoy the background music as well- it is very relaxing and therapeutic.
Thank you, Natalie. They are actually quite easy. If you don't want to attempt them with memory wire, you could always use an 18 or even 20 gauge wire.
I am SO going to TRY to make these when I get this horrid cast off! I say "try" because I'm very weak due to arthritis. But I'm going to give it the ole college try. Stubborn Aries and all that. lol
You can do it! I'm so sorry to hear you're in a cast. I hope you heal soon. These projects should be reasonably easy for you, even with your arthritis as there's no twisting or hard squeezing. Let me know how you go. Thank you.
I love your channel. I am 84 and I can’t see well enough to use the 11/0 seed beads can you make some pretty jewelry with a little larger bead? Thank you very much. Have a blessed day.
Hi Rena, you confused me a bit because I only used 6mm beads when I made these earrings. If you have a look at the other videos on my channel, I hardly ever use seed beads, mostly larger beads. Thank you for watching.
Thanks so much for sharing you designs with us. I tried to make these, but really struggled with the memory wire, so I cheated and used 18 gauge wire instead, and they came out beautiful.
You are very welcome, Hope. Yes, that would work too. The only reason I used memory wire is because it holds its shape so well. Do whatever works for you.
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I've been looking to fid something to do with all this memory wire I have and this is the perfect thing. You gave me an even deeper love for memory wire and I even came up with new designs for y jewelry business. I love the airy design and how light these earrings are! I love watching your videos and I greatly appreciate you. ❤
Hi Sue Ellen. Thank you for your comment. Hopefully you have gained some insight from watching my videos. It is just practice makes perfect. Here's another one about loops. th-cam.com/video/dcEQ3SV_pyk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=XpPK-ijGaG7id8Br
Will be having a go of making these Carol ,they're lovely , also love the earrings and necklace you're wearing today , they really suit you and. I'd love to be able to make those hint hint ! Love from Jean in Wales x
Thank you so much, Jean. I made the necklace and earrings I was wearing in this video in the last one. Here's the link: th-cam.com/video/25F6rPzdNzI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=IEMjVmMawL6Iv2ma
Hello Carol, I love your tutorials ❤ I have a general question. I make a lot of jewelry with miyuki beads. For clasps and extension chains I never know what to buy. Some materials discolour 😕 What kind of material is best.. stainless steel? 18 k gold plated? 925 silver?... so many to choose from! Hope you can help me? Thank you 😊 Greets from Sonja in Belgium
Hi Sonja, stainless steel is generally good and won't discolour unless it is silver/gold plated. I've found that some plated stainless steel items do discolour. Have you tried adding some anti-tarnish tissue paper to the packaging. Basically air is the worst enemy so you want to keep your items packaged properly. I hope that helps.
I used a 4cm memory wire. You can find a list of the supplies I used here. www.affordablejewellerysupplies.co.nz/blogs/beading-projects/breaking-the-rules-with-memory-wire
4" loops seems like a weird size. These were 4cm which is 1.57". 4" seems too big for a bracelet and not big enough for a necklace. Was the measurement across or around the outside? Usually it's across.
Your my last hope I just recently started bead weaving I'm having a problem with measuring for a bracelet adding the clasp I have googled and I even bought a book with my luck nothing about measuring they either end up too short or to long before I add the clasp is there a rule of thump for this it's to the point that I almost hate when it comes to that point help please
Hi Janie, that's a great question. It does depend on the size of the clasp and whether you are adding jump rings, etc. What I would do is make up the clasp and measure it. What I mean by that is if you are using a jump ring for the clasp to open and close with, then put the jump ring into the clasp and close it. If you are using jump rings on either side of the clasp, then add those as well. Then you can lay it down and measure it. This could be quite a good little video so keep watching - I might just pop one up for that. Thanks.
This video is a year old, so I don't know if you will ever see my comment, but!! ... I made earrings yesterday with 6 cut pieces of memory wire and needed to make a loop on each end. Guess what I disovered. You can use your magic looper to do that!! You still have to fiddle to get it just right, but it's so much easier than using the pliers! I wanted to show you a picture, but didn't know how to insert it.
Thanks Deborah. Unfortunately, you can't share photos here on TH-cam. You can post a comment on a post on my Facebook page though, or email me (carol@thestylishmaker.com). I wouldn't ever use my 1-step Looper (I'm assuming that's what you mean) on memory wire as it will blunt your blades and ruin it. It specifically states that it's not to be used on memory wire on the pack. The memory wire is too hard.
Hi Carol. Just gorgeous. I love the necklace you’re wearing. Much respect to you. Thank You. Love from Ontario, Canada ❤❤❤
