For me the worst part was:
    The Faks: we need less
The monologues: for me the show shines when the pace is quickly and concentrated on something. Something I noticed this season was that it was so much monologues that are really boring to be honest.

Personally this season felt weird, like sth was off and I can´t really figure out what it is. I just felt this season emotional core wasn´t as compelling, the characters weren´t as entertaining to watch and we got several scenes that were abt the same thing and didn´t feel like it was progressing or going somewhere, it feels kind of incomplete. Kind of waiting for the moment where everything would connect and get some kind of pay off but then the season ended.

Napkins and Ice Chips are definitely my favorite episodes of this season. I get not liking all the monologuing and it was frustrating and annoying to watch but it makes so much sense to me and it was very emotional, had me sobbing. I like my mom a lot but I think most of us can relate to a lot of aspects of the relationship Nat has with her mom even if it's not to a similar extent.
I was also sad that there was no focus on Marcus, he's the most likeable character and the one you have to root for, and he just went through something huge. Feels crazy not to have as much of this season dedicated to him. I also agree that we need an Ebra episode! I also don't really like Claire but I think that's just because she's so underdeveloped as a character, and also because she's so tangential to everything at The Bear. She's not unlikeable, she just feels irrelevant and not like a real person, only as this relationship for Carmie.
Anyway I think Syd should accept the offer and leave ❤ I just quit my job so watching this season I was screaming at her in my head to quit too lol

@@jennifercorozza7002Well, not all of the audience was bored. I surely wasn't bored & the season was even better on rewatch for me.
Also, intent is a major part pf storytelling. People can not like season 3, that's fine, but I'm actually not sure how else this season could have went to make sense for how season 2 ended.

    • @jennifercorozza7002
      @jennifercorozza7002 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@Keesha_Hardy Not, it's not. Intent does not matter if the execution is a failure. You can intend lots of things, but it doesn't matter if the story is not successful. I judge TV shows by boredom vs rewatchability. If I have no interest in rewatching a show, it's a failure. S1/S2, I can rewatch over and over. There are parts of S3 I can rewatch, mostly Richie-related (even though he barely got anything to do this season). the thing that is tough is Carmy is a introverted character, so if you center his stasis due to his dysfunction (Which s fine), the characters around need to do the stuff, the active parts and they didn't get that. I don't care what anyone says, episode Ice Chip was excruciatingly dull. The only episode of the Bear, I had to FF on a first watch. It was that bad. The biggest problem w/season was the writing, in particular, the structure of the season. It makes me worry for S4 because this is not good set up. Even stasis needs dynamism.

It's dying the same way Shameless did. Lip yells and his emotions feel real and raw so then they give him more camera time to yell and scream and rub his hand on his face and througg his hair as he struggless and stresses. Now we see the same pattern with Carm.

Every second counts. This season has a ton of connections and payoffs of moments from the first two seasons, and watching Sydney fall apart over questioning her loyalty to The Bear is amazing. If shows like Tina’s meeting with Mikey are filler then give me more filler.

curious to see what they do with the window of the bear in the next season.
those brief scenes with ebraheim and the old crew felt like such a return to form, plus the napkins episode and mikey talking about the chaos and insanity of the beef, its highs and lows. it suggested, rather strongly, to me that the issue isn't just carmy being stuck-- it's that the bear is trying too hard to be something that can't last and something that it never should be.
we know they're spending too much, mostly because of carmy's insanely high standards. the window, the beef, is what's really holding them up financially. Ever closed down. carmy knows he can't make the bear last forever. it'll run him into the dirt. but, the beef can last, i think. set up with the skills and higher standards carmy has introduced, ritchie's massive growth in character, and a crew that really care for the place and each other.
i want to see the beef at its fullest potential; not the bear, in all its carmy soaked desperation to spitefully prove its the best thing around. i want to see a local restaurant that doesn't care for the highest dollar and the finest clientele. i want to see an honest place that wants to serve good food for the average person

This comment is from another video about this season I just want to put it here as well.
For me this season was definitely disappointing. for me season 1 of the show is 10 out of 10 the best season of Television I think I've ever seen. In season 2 had some of the highest highs of the entire show with the Christmas episode and the episode focused on Richie. My biggest issue with season 3 is that it genuinely felt off the whole time everything felt longer but somehow nothing was happening. the dialogue is always great and as someone studying screenwriting I'm extremely impressed on how they do this. but it got to the point where the scenes kept going when they should have probably ended 3 minutes ago and to me it felt like maybe that's the point it's meant to feel uncomfortable but it should never get to the point that I'm actively checking how much time is left in the episode. I liked elements of the first episode and I liked that episode 2 was a long argument but also I just felt it could have been executed better. I love the Tina episode and I love the hospital episode.
For me I think the showrunners and writers started buying into their own hype and whenever that happens with creatives it becomes a problem. because now they can think they can do anything and it's clear that they probably shouldn't be doing anything they want. And there is too many celebrity cameos I don't typically care about that kind of stuff but even seeing John Cena broke my brain because I'm a wrestling fan and seeing him in anything kind of confuses me. And I'm so bought into the world of the show that seeing genuinely extremely famous person John Cena not being extremely famous person John Cena makes no sense to me because we know famous real people exist in the show why is John Cena actually just a character?
Me and my mother watched both seasons of the bear for me I was rewatching it she was seeing it for the first time and she loved it. and she related heavily with the show. but even this season, I could tell she was losing interest. It got to the point where she was actively disinterested and was telling me that she wanted to take breaks. And my mom isn't as media literate as me so if she's telling me that I know there's a problem.
Again I think the show is extremely well made the music's great the acting is amazing the dialogues always incredible but something just fell off and I feel like even if this entire season set up and we're going to get the fourth season quicker than we expect it still should be able to stand on its own two feet and the season doesn't really do that. For me I always see The Bear as a shining example of writing for television and someone studying this it's disappointing to see that it seems like the writers aren't putting their best foot forward.
This is getting very rambly but I'm just thinking too much and I'm going to continue writing. I feel like the show was starting to lose its identity because one of the main reasons I watched season 1 is because I like the dynamic of this guy coming from the world of Fancy High dining cooking having to go back because his brother killed himself and take over his restaurant and everyone is against him because of where he's coming from. And I feel like as the show went on and the sandwich shop is no longer a sandwich shop it's now this fine dining restaurant it feels wrong. I don't know I just really like season 1 more than season 2. And I feel just that the show for me has been getting worse for each season not like it's gone from a 10 to a six more like it's gone more like 10 to a 9 to an 8. Again I think the show is really well made and I hope they stick the landing for season 4 but I am definitely disappointed with the season it's still good but it doesn't reach the same heights is the best way to say it.
