Craig Wescoe vs. Andrejs Prost Andrew Shrout vs. Josh Utter-Leyton Rob Castellon vs. Dusty Ochoa Makihito Mihara vs. Matej Zatlkaj Format: Return to Ravnica Block Constructed
Honestly this was the block you wanted to take off from then, but still you can make some decks, if you look around the coverage for pro tour gatecrash Conley Woods was running a mono-black deck that seemed interesting.
Because Lands are colorless... In order to find the color of a card you have to look at its mana cost, if it has blue in its cost for example, it is blue. Since Lands don't cost anything to cast they are colorless.
Here is the description of the keyword "protection" Damaged by sources with the given quality (all such damage is prevented) Enchanted or equipped by permanents with the given quality Blocked by creatures with the given quality (if it's a creature) Targeted by spells of the given quality, or abilities with sources of the given quality. He can still be swept by things such as Supreme Verdict, as it does not target, does not enchant, does not damage, and does not block.
I see your point and it's completely valid. but that's kind of the point of Ravinca's guild. and for most players (especially the pro's) multiple color decks are not an issue, because that's how most player's play these days anyway. it's extremely rare to see a pro tour player with a mono deck.
That's close to the definition of protection but not quite. 1. Damage is reduced to 0 by x 2. can't be targeted by spells or abilities that is x 3. Can't be blocked by x 4. Enchantments with an older time stamp than x goes to the graveyard. (White Ward is a white enchant creature that gives the creature it targets Protection from White and it doesn't fall off)
Can someone point out if I'm wrong but wouldn't the better play at ~18:40 be to Aetherize the attacking Medic and Chain Walker, main phase Sphinx's Revelation, then with Josh's mana he's only be able to drop one creature per turn, drop a chain walker and pass. Then UWR woud've had a turn with all of his mana up, a full hand from sphinx's and 10 life staring down a single chain walker?
Hmmmm guys i got a question If you use renounce the guilds and the only multicolor permanent you have is hallowed fountain, why dont you have to sac it?
In the Utter-Leyton vs Shrout game one shouldn't Jace have died on the first attack against it? The Legion's Initiative should essentially counteract the Jace +1 and the Gore Chainwalker and the little Goblin should swing for five right?
idk about anyone else, but this set has some of the best art
my favorite magic player (lsv obviously) is doing the commentary - faith in humanity is restored!

LSV is the best guest commentator by far.

these old pro tour videos have become some of my favorite mtg content. shame the pro tour got razed.

I believe lands are technically colorless; since they produce mana. Anyone can correct me if I`m wrong.
OMG, I have Prophetic Prism!
what a great game, and that enchantment is epic

Thanks a lot dude! Appreciate it!
You're right :D, Shrout most probably have forgotten that the medic can counter X spells
But I do agree on the fact that RTR had amazing stuff.

Why do people downvote questions like this? He was just asking a question...

Can anyone explain to me what that thing on Utter Leyton's head is?
