I knew it couldn't just be coincidence. It's probably from the last update. A friend of mine has a different brand and it is not working also.
If that is the case i want my 0,8% price for the 2tbw i lost for this shit in my QVO, in a HDD i wouldn't care, the 1,75tb i have installed currenly can be downloaded in just one night and i dont even have the higher package of internet because i see it useless lol

I'm seeing a lot of comments from people whose storage device wont even pop up on their screen. I'm having this same issue and does anyone have answers for this? I mean I don't really want to buy another storage device. Although it could actually be the storage device that is the issue. I'm not that sure anymore so does anyone know how to fix it or at least what the problem is.

If u unplug an external HD drive with the Xbox one still ON theres a chance it will corrupt something in that drive, you must do a COMPLETE turnoff (not a sinple turnoff) of the system dna only them unplug.
Also if u dont completely turn off the xbox and turn it out of the energy (or disconnect the HD) the external HD will continue to work (and consequentelly shorten its life).
The xbox one does NOT have a function to safelly remove an external drive (including pendrives), you must turn it off completely in the configurations menu.
so im guessing just deleting everything then formating the harddrive can make everything normal again?

There are many possible problems for a malfunctioning HD.
What happens if I do unplug it while my Xbox is still on, cause I recently had multiple games saying that their corrupted

Everyone!!! If yours is NOT making a beeping noice and all of a sudden just stopped working plug in the hard drive and restart ur xbox with it plugged in and when it comes back on it should work!! Worked for me saved me tons of money just hope it doesn't happen again!

You failed to let everyone know that formatting a drive with games already installed on it will delete them. The Xbox never told me this would happen. I was just trying to get a game fixed but now 800 gigs worth of games are gone.
I lost 1.5 Tb worth of games lol xD and well technically he said so. But just not in the best way.

Hey everyone! I had a issue where it had said that I had a connection issue. I tried a couple different things but what ended up working is me making it install things on there by default. Keep in mind this may not work for you though; so keep trying I hope you won’t have to buy a new one.
Hey, my hardrive has been doinf this for a day or so and it's getting on my nerves
So everything was fine on it until o downloaded Fortnite on it and suddenly nothing worked, every game "took too long to start" the games wouldn't show up on my games list and i basically couldn't access anything, not even the help screen, whilst my hard drive was plugged in. When it isn't plugged in my xbox is fine i can play games with no problem, it's just ever since i tried downloading fortnite it basically stopped working, as well as that it won't let me delete it, i clicked delete on it like 10 times but like i said with the hard drive in nothing worked
What process do you suggest i do?

Same thing happened to me except I was installing Forza Horizon 5. But apps haven't been running correctly for me either... Spotify doesn't want to open, minecraft, gta, and so on. I had to restart my consol in order for it to open Spotify or any game.

The issue I'm having is installing games... I see the hard drive fine and dandy and it says 1.8TB free but when I try and install a game, it tries for a little bit but then just locks up and says installation stopped and then I can't do anything with it from that point on. It's like it's in hard drive limbo... I have to unplug it, plug it back in and then uninstall whatever I tried to install on it.

@@DeathMetalJedi thank you for a reply, that’s a shame you had to buy a new one, because like if you had games on your old drive, like for my problem, I was trying to download Yakuza 6, since I’ve had all of the games from gamepass and for some reason on the external hardrive, it would instantly stop saying installation stopped and if I click on the game, it said it would be corrupted, but today, I tried to download the game on my Xbox as I would’ve done normally, I just wanted it on my external hard drive to go with my other Yakuza games, but for some reason it’s downloading fine on my Xbox not the hard drive though

This doesn’t even help. It’s not appearing in general, I can hear the running sound from the external yet it’s not appearing in storage. Nothing remotely involving it is appearing on the Xbox one as if it doesn’t exist

i made a game transfer from one drive to another overnight but the one that was receiving the games just wouldn’t show up. you could feel it working but the light didn’t turn on. I put it on my pc and i couldn’t format it or do the chkdsk thingy on command prompt, then it said there’s a hardware failure

Ok so like most people who are commenting mine doesn’t show up when I go to check storage devices, the light is off, and it’s still vibrating. However did anyone els have the problem I did where after you turn on the Xbox the first thing I saw was I needed to connect to Xbox live as if there wasn’t internet. I tried to turn on my controller but the light just kept on flashing as if it wasn’t connected. But then when I tried to pair the controller the button on the Xbox wasn’t doing anything so I tried doing a hard reset by holding the power “button” until the light turned off waited a couple minutes and I tried turning it back on I had to do that a couple times before I got the sync button to actually work but when it did work the option to connect back to Xbox live was gone and it was connected. When I went to play a game it told me I owned the game but in order to play it needed it to be installed that’s when I found out that the sea gate external drive wasn’t working I’ve tried unplugging it and back in several times in several different ways, while the Xbox is on, while it’s off, and both ways of which one gets plugged in first, and in the different ports. And every variation of all those different methods and after all that nothing. It’s doing the same thing each time. no light, vibrating, and the Xbox doesn’t even register that it was ever plugged in.

My problem has been it glitches out all my installed items, even apps, to where it won’t even let me start them. When I unplug the hard drive and then turn off my Xbox and unplug it and let it sit, my stuff on internal works still, so it hasn’t stopped me from playing. I don’t feel like spending potentially 80 bucks on a new hard drive.

I made my external hard drive install my games and apps instead of my clips and captures and I went on my chrome book to format it to NFTS cause that’s what my Xbox said to do now it won’t even pop up as is I have an external hard drive connected to my Xbox, my mom

I cleared the hard drive and reset Xbox factory mode and it allowed me to redownload everything which I didn’t want to do but that was the only solution and it works

@@memyself9254 i found out the problem was the cord connecting the hard drive to the console. I bought a new cord and replaced it with my old one and it worked fine.

My Xbox One sees my external HDD. My problem is that when I set new external hard drive to "install new games here" and I try to download a game, the Xbox tries to download, then pauses...then tries to download, then pauses. If I set the internal HDD to "install new games here" it works fine. I've connected the HDD to my computer and reformatted it to NTFS and exFAT (this is a 2TB Seagate drive).

My problem is i cant clip on certain games like R6 and fortnite but i can games like apex and warzone
Let me preface this by saying that everything was working perfectly for a couple of years until four days ago. Then I went to play Modern Warfare (2019) and all of the packs besides Multiplayer Map Pack 1. After messing around trying to fix that, I ended up Factory Resetting. Modern Warfare installed completely. I plugged my External Game Hard Drive, everything worked flawlessly. I plugged in my External Media Hard Drive, it detected fine. Well, yesterday my internet went down for most of the day, so I tried accessing my Media Drive and nothing.
Things I've tried so far:
-Unplug/re-plug
-Power Cycle
-Check for Updates
-Instant On is enabled/Storage doesn't turn off when Xbox is off
-Tried every port
-Detects on PC
So, I'm officially at a loss and would really appreciate help on this, thanks in advance
Me too. I’ve completely deleted the game and all its updates and it refuses to let me reinstall or update because of a corrupt file. I just can’t figure it out.

What if I had games on the external HD, then disconnected it, then when I am trying to reconnect it, it does not recognize all of the games I had on their. Had a total of 95 games, but now it's showing 20..in the internal drive. Not sure what to do after I reconnect it to the USB on the xbox

You should have said LOUDLY that if you format your data on the drive will be deleted. And yes you said something about it but it was unrecognizable. Also if someone’s drive is corrupted with games were do you expect them to transfer all of them so that they could format it.

My console registers that it’s there as well as my data but I can’t transfer from external to internal which would indicate that there’s a corruption within a certain save file/data within the external drive. What do I do? I have no idea what to do and I’m getting so mad.

All of a sudden recently after an update for Warzone my Multiplayer pack 2 file showed up as corrupted and wouldn't let me play, then I tried to play Cold War and that won't even let me into the game at all now. Tried transferring game's from external drive to internal and they still won't work. Stuff I transferred from internal to external have got corrupted. Tried contacting Microsoft and they weren't very helpful, sent a ticket to Activision explaining everything and they haven't bothered to get back to me, what a Surprise.... Yeah? Formating delete everything, you'd have to delete all the files to "rewrite" the hard drive
