Me too!!! It makes me feel less alone. Oooh I think motherhood is on my TBR, but I haven’t heard of the second one. I will have a look! 🥰 Thanks for the recommendation ☺️
A truly amazing and nuance book on mother hood is 'Still Born' by Guadalupe Nettel. It follows one woman who chooses not to have children and how she views the women in her life who have children. I cannot recommend this book enough, it was in my top ten last year. xx
Awwww 🙈 thank you so much! Yeah I was a little nervous talking about it, but I realised my feelings are perfectly normal and valid. It’s also a very interesting topic too. ☺️

On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous is sooooo good -- beautifully written. For parenting/childlessness non-fiction, try This Particular Happiness by Jackie Shannon Hollis. For fiction, try Family Family by Laurie Frankel. 💚
Lovely selection of books here, Nickelle 💫 I appreciate the second hand haul too. Girl with a louding voice sounds intriguing, hopefully you can't go wrong with Emily Henry. I read Book Lover based on your review & loved it. Recommendations regarding childfree/motherhood 📚Fiction: Olive by Emma Gannon, The Nine Lives of Rose Napolitano by Donna Freitas, Soldier Sailor by Claire Kilroy, and Still Born by Guadalupe Netele Nonfiction (lots of biographies): Milk: on motherhood & madness by Alice Kinsella, Making Babies by Anne Enright, Finding my wild by Kathy Donaghy (TW: miscarriage). On my TBR I have Women without Kids by Ruby Warrington and The Panic Years by Nell Frizzell - both authors have related podcasts too 🎧

I have yet to read a E. Henry book although I own two books from her haha but they are giving me summer vibes so I think I’ll save them for July. Also I love van life vlogs. Your vlogs are so cozy and relaxing for me Especially after a hard day at work. ❤
A few books on being child free and/or motherhood: Still Born by Guadalupe Nettel (I recently read this and really enjoyed it), Boulder by Eva Baltasar, and Soldier Sailor by Claire Kilroy. Haven’t read the last two but looking forward to them.
i’d really recommend Olive by Emma Gannon for that motherhood story! i randomly picked it up and fell in love with it, it’s CONSTANTLY stuck in my head!
it discusses how olive has never felt the pull to have kids, and now as an adult it’s so much harder for her to connect with adults because of the children she has. it poses the question if you’ve really wanted kids or if it’s just been predetermined because of all the baby dolls for “girls”. the book features her meeting people with kids who say don’t do it, people who say kids have made them feel undeniable happiness, and people who wish they were able to bear children. HIGHLY recommend!
@@alipurplesticksomg this description alone has sucked me in!!! I feel seen! I think I have added it to my goodreads a while back, but I need to pick up a copy to read asap!!! Thanks for recommending 🥰

Omg you look, so beautiful!!!! I love the makeup, dress earrings, matching nails and scrunchie, you are glowing 💖 I love cover of “Small Pleasures” I would buy just because of cover, but i also like the description of it🍊 “On earth we’re briefly gorgeous” is really high on my tbr, and I hope I will be able to read it very soon. I also want to read “funny story” I think I want to do reading vlog reading all books by Emily Henry, because I never read any of her books! “Brest and eggs” is also a book which I’m very interested in, I found books about motherhood very interesting. I don’t want children, I’m 21 so it’s possible that I will change my mind, but I don’t see myself being 30, and having children if I imagine my future it’s definitely not with little creatures 😂 I love all the picks so many nice books 💐
Awwwwww this is so sweet! Thank you so much! 🙈💖 Yes I agree the cover of Small Pleasures is gorgeous! 🍊🍊 An Emily Henry reading vlog sounds like SO much fun! Yeah me too, I’m very intrigued about motherhood, and how it’s changed over the decades. Yeah I get that. When I was 21 I was the complete opposite. I would talk about hypothetical children all of the time. But when I got to my mid 20’s that conversation started to change, and now in my late 20’s I feel pretty confident in what I want out of life etc. I do like that more women are not afraid to talk about their decisions to not want children, I always felt like an outsider when I would discuss this topic. But quite a few of my friends are leaning child free as well, so it certainly makes me feel less alone.
I LOVED exciting times! It’s very Sally Rooney-vibes. I will say the characters aren’t particularly likeable, but I loved the book for the painfully realistic emotional examination
Awww I’m glad you enjoyed it! I have no clue on Sally Rooney’s writing style, so I’m completely going in blind with this one. Excited to give it a read though! 💖
Soooo lovely to see you! Fab selection of books. Almost as fabulous as that dress. The Abi Dare is brilliant, the sequel is coming this summer too. Ooooh how was Good Material? I’m so happy you loved Ghosts, I wasn’t a huge fan unfortunately, so I’m a little apprehensive to read her latest book. But I may still give it a try! 💖 Awww thank you 🥰
I have been researching motherhood and mothering since 2020 and i've never wanted (and still don't want) to have children. Still, I love reading about motherhood, matricentric feminism and such, because caring and raising a child should not be the sole obligation and responsibility of mothers, but of society as a whole. So, I highly recommend the book 'Matricentric Feminism', which talks about how motherhood is shaped by patriarcal values and shines a light on mother's struggles, care work and the political implication of it all!
Love that you know yourself enough to know you don't want kids. My husband and I decided before we got married that we didn't want kids. We are grateful everyday to not have them. ♥
Yeah it was really tough going back and forth with myself deciding, but I personally think it’s something you need to REALLY want, and I just don’t feel that. Ah that’s really good! Yeah we agreed before getting married as well! We both want a dog though, so hopefully one day we’ll extend our family with a little furry friend 🐶 ❤
Glad you got 'Exciting Times' cheap. My experience going in hearing promising reviews, was left feeling more unexciting times. But hope you have a better experience with it, love your content and hearing a fellow midlander on TH-cam ✊️ - Fab ✨️
You should give Motherhood by Sheila Heti a go. I am also leaning towards childfree at 30 and I found it very refreshing. It gives multiple perspective around the question of ‘do I want kids or not’
Yes certainly will! I think I added it to my goodreads a while back, so I’ll pick up a copy for sure. Ahh that’s exactly what I want to read! I’m glad it helped you ☺️
I love Vinted! It is second hand but things are always in a very great shape! I also have a shop there and I sell books for real cheap even though they're basically brand new - it's just books I either don't want anymore or don't have the space for, and since they're in English and I couldn't take them anywhere in Italy to give away, that's the only way to go :) I read The happy couple by Naoise Nolan and it was SO. GOOD!!! Ps. Love your shirt, it is sooo cute!!
That's a great haul of book you got! I enjoyed rosewater & found it to be a very engaging read. I DNFd Exciting Times it just wasn't going anywhere & it reminded me of Sally Rooney who I'm not a fan of. Boy Parts is definitely one thaf will stay with you for a while. I've added Breast & Eggs, On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous & Girl In Pieces to my tbr. ❤
I’m so glad you enjoyed Rosewater!! Haha yeah I’ve heard mixed things about Sally Rooney 😂 I don’t know what her writing style is like, and I’m scared to find out haha Oh gosh, I can’t wait to read boy parts then!! Woohoooo!! 🙌🏾

So, I highly recommend the book 'Matricentric Feminism', which talks about how motherhood is shaped by patriarcal values and shines a light on mother's struggles, care work and the political implication of it all!
Oh wow, I will definitely look into this as I’m really interested in those topics Thank you so much for taking the time to share this. ❤️
Oh noo!! I’ll keep my expectations low then haha
Aww thank you!! Yes, gotta rep the best region in the UK (imo😉)
Thanks for watching!!
Your haul makes me wanna run to the next bookstore and do some shopping ;D I really shouldn't though^^
I’m glad it helped you ☺️
I’m trying to figure out why your Girl in Pieces book is twice as thick as the copy I own? I live in USA so I’m wondering if the copies are different.
Oooob I’m not sure!! This edition has a discussion guide in it so that may have bulked up the pages, but I’m not sure! 🙈
I love Vinted! It is second hand but things are always in a very great shape! I also have a shop there and I sell books for real cheap even though they're basically brand new - it's just books I either don't want anymore or don't have the space for, and since they're in English and I couldn't take them anywhere in Italy to give away, that's the only way to go :)
I read The happy couple by Naoise Nolan and it was SO. GOOD!!!
Ps. Love your shirt, it is sooo cute!!
Omg it’s so good! Ah yes that’s a good idea.
Ahhh is that her most recent book? I’m sure I’ve seen that around!
Aww thank you so much ❤
That's a great haul of book you got!
Haha yeah I’ve heard mixed things about Sally Rooney 😂
I don’t know what her writing style is like, and I’m scared to find out haha
Oh gosh, I can’t wait to read boy parts then!!
Woohoooo!! 🙌🏾
You are fucking GORGEOUS 😮💨❤️ true goddest
