Story Summary :-
Op and her sister’s life took a bitter turn when their mother married another man after the death of their father. Op’s stepdad attempts to have his way with Op’s sister and when Op’s sister tells her about it, Op refuses to believe. Op soon pays attention to her stepdad and discovers her sister might have been right all along but before they could tell their mother, she was diagnosed with cancer. Their mom passes on and that was when their stepdad boldly makes advances at Op and after she refuses, he turns it into rape.
Op and her sister reject his advances and he brings in another woman to the house whom he introduced as his wife. Op and her sister refuse to accept his wife and this leads to an altercation where Op's stepdad beats and throws her and her sister out of the house. Op's granddad learns of it but is still physically assaulted like his granddaughters. He involves the police with proof that the house belonged to him and not his late daughter and Op's stepdad is given a few days to vacate the building. He comes back to beg Op and her family and admits his actions were wrong. Op's father uses his admittance of crime against him and he is not only kicked out but equally locked up in jail.

I can't believe OP and her sister didn't ask their grandfather about the inheritance of the house and more in the beginning. If they had done this, Ted could have been evicted right away and things would have been far better.
This is proof for all women not to marry the next pair of pants that come along who says pretty words. If you have children or are responsible for them, get a prenup! Protect your children's future and never let it all fall into the hands of a step parent in case you get dearly departed.

Nope as soon as she slapped you OP you should've called the police and had her arrested because she didn't have the right to touch you. Then to add insult to injury your step father had the nerve to hit you and kick you out of your own home wow. If the heirloom was pawned, the pawnbroker could not legally sell it. In the US, pawning is not the same as selling. Going to the police with the deeds first would have been the right move. More fiction?
