The oil that came out of the fork looked pretty fresh. It almost looks like someone replaced the oil, and maybe did the seals too, but they didn't install it correctly. Also, 250 mL + 268 mL is only 518 mL. That fork may be a little soft haha
I also definitely recommend checking the oil level in each fork. I usually just stick a ruler or some measuring device down in the fork tube to measure the level. You want to make sure each leg has pretty much the same amount of oil. And if you are too far above or below the recommend level, it can lead to failures. Too little oil, and you’ll bottom out the forks on a jump. Too much oil, and it’ll be like riding on steel rods. And it could cause blowouts in the deals from too much pressure when landing a jump. I love seeing the progress though. The videos have been very entertaining. I have my 1999 yz125 build nearly completed too. Just got news that my cylinder is cracked beyond repair, so I’ll be ordering a brand new cylinder, woohoo
It handled the local trails pretty well but yeah for bigger impacts I could see it making more of a difference. I'm always trying to soften forks up though for what I like to ride. Enjoyed talking bikes with you the other day 🤜🤛

@@Spraffle He's gonna ride a combo of Off Road / scrambles type terrain. It's definitely stiff as is with the stock fork springs.
@@ronbuellwinkler4586 Oh yeah. For scrambles, he'll be fine for sure. It only really makes a noticeable difference on huge impacts.
