    Awesome video man! I could not figure out how to tighten that bottom 14 mm hex bolt all the way but thanks to you I know how now.

    I have been so patiently waiting for you to rebuild some forks like the ones on my bike! Looks like I did it right lol! Even though I went by the manual.

    I know this video was a year ago but I’m cringing of all the dirt on that fork and your reassembling it. I was hoping to see you clean everything up before then they will last a lot longer and perform a lot better when they’re clean but thanks for the information.

      The insides of everything are clean. In fact, that set of forks is still on those seals right now. No leaks.

    Nice video thanks.
    Under the top cap there is a steel cup with a blue rubber inside it. Mine was a pile of blue bits.
    What is it called and what does it do?

    The amount of oil added is not the same, 370 and 260.

    Thanks for great Vids!!!
    Question: Before you take the shock apart do you need to run the clicker all the way in?

  • @TheRumrum824
    @TheRumrum824 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So I bought new springs I’m trying to rebuild mine and I noticed there isn’t an tiny adjustment rod that you pull out and I have washers on top of my fork springs under the top cap maybe lowering washers?idk what’s the purpose of that rod and can I run it without them?

    • @highlandcycles
      @highlandcycles  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You need the rod. It’s how you adjust the damping.

    Oh wow...Look at you Top of the line Motion Pro LOCKING fork seal drivers!! No more blood blisters in the palm of your hand. I finally got smart and put rubber bands made out of old inner tubes on old Honda ones from oh maybe back in the late 70's and mid 80"s. But even that upgrade wont keep you from mashing the meat on the side of your hand!!! lol

    That is some ugly oil. Ewan needs to play hooky and do next time. Or plastic bag if no 46mm bullet. My 690 has the split forks and not sure which one it was but during my last oil change with the adjuster tube out, I dropped the damper rod down inside and the spring and needle from the base valve took a trip up and out and hit the ceiling. LOL
