Thank you SO much for all the advice that you have been providing on your channel Imogen! Im hoping to get into medicine in 2025 and I'm really looking forward to your future content! I have begun some UCAT prep but I'm unsure when to begin using my mocks. Also, I am using Medify, to prepare at the moment, would you recommend that its necessary to also purchase medentry? thanks! 😊

I used Medify for a little bit of time, but I found Medentry a lot more suited to the Australian UCAT, however, don’t feel pressured to buy it if you’ve already spent a significant amount of money on medify. If I recall correctly there are 24 mocks on medify, so I would start doing them soon, perhaps one every two weeks. Have you done a mock yet? If you haven’t, I’ve got a bit of different advice quickly 😊

@@imogenkmed I haven’t done any mocks yet! Still hoping to improve my skills in all of the sections first - unless you’d recommend doing mocks asap! Thanks for the advice again, it’s really appreciated 🫶

@@Alicew132 I think the best way to start UCAT prep is to do the free online Medentry diagnostic mock, beore you even try to get skills up. It throws you in the deep end, exposes you to all types of questions and the time pressures, and it will give you percentiles for each subtest and overall to show how you performed compared to everyone else who has sat that test (thousands). It also shows you what you're in for. I highly recommend you do that mock this weekend, so you can truly see where you're sitting. You may be good at questions now, but in the exam format, things can change :( . Please put aside some time to do the Medentry mock first and I can advise you from there! It will be very freaky at first to sit the full exam, but it's just something you'll have to do, and it will definitely expose your weaknesses and strengths. Once you've sat it, feel free to message me again to talk about your results and get advice on what to do next :D

Also this was to go in my next video, but are you using a mouse and a plug in full sized keyboard if you are using a laptop instead of a PC?

Hi there! Your advice has been incredibly helpful so far, your channel has been such a gift. I’m hoping to get into 2026 direct entry med at Monash, and I’m curious as to what you think a good time to start prepping is? I definitely want to start at some point this year, but do you think it would be too early to do so now? My main struggle has always been time management, do you have any recommendations to begin working on that issue? Thanks for all your help!

If I’ve got my years right you’re in year 11, and I really recommend you start UCAT about midway through year 11. Use the June July holidays to get your head around UCAT. It’s definitely not too early to start in year 11. Year 12 will hit you like a truck so it’s a good idea to get into a solid routine in year 11 before the stress of year 12 gets to you. For time management, this may seem a little goofy, but I want you to sit down and really think about your motivations, and medicine, and how excited you are for medicine. Watch med student vlogs and stuff like that, because the more excited youll get, and you’ll be way more inclined to spend sufficient time on UCAT. If you’re struggling to set aside time for UCAT, just remember, you could get a 99.95, but if you get a bad UCAT, you won’t even get an interview, so UCAT is incredibly important. Set aside a small amount of time each day (10-15 minutes in year 11) and get into the habit of doing it every single day so you won’t have a problem in year 12. I got into the habit so much that when I got home from sitting the UCAT I was like yup gotta do UCAT prep now! Try to use year 11 to your advantage - learn UCAT, get excited for medicine, do some work experience or some STEM projects.
