This damn 10 day sale was not kind to my bank account. I got this little welder, a Daytona 3 ton jack, and a butt load of ammo cans.
Same, I got the surface conditioning tool and the super duty Daytona jack, I just wish they had the blue that matches my General roller tool cabinets. I got the purple just for another pop of color for the shop, lol. I picked up lots of other random things they had coupons or Inside Track deals on as well. Picked up the welding hood for like $35. I've spend easily a few grand since getting my inside track earlier this year. I love the Bauer miter saw stand that folds up, that thing is a game changer for having an easily but useful miter station. Kind of wanted to check out the Hercules model of it, but this one seems good enough.
Hey Pro, I have a good HF story for you. I broke a ball joint on my Jeep Liberty. I decided to replace both of them myself, so I went to HF to buy a ball joint kit for $90. The price tag said $90 or $45 with an Inside Track membership. I bought the membership for $30 and still came out $15 ahead. Now I'm a member for a year. Moral of the story, keep your eyes open at HF. You never know when you'll get a super deal.

The problem with being a member is if you have a tool addiction, you start watching ALL the sales like a hawk and buying up LOTS of tools, lol. I am buying tools for scenarios I'm just imagining at this point. I picked one up for around $112.49 last month when they had I think 25% off any Titanium product. I have a Miller 220 Mig, but I have been wanting something that I can run more easily and more portable and this seemed like a good fit and the reviews convinced me.

I love this welder. I have several welders, but this is usually my go-to welder because everything you mentioned. It’s small and portable, it’s simple to use, and it works great. $99 is a smokin deal.

I mounted a solid brass handle to the lid with heavy pop-rivets (be sure that the rivets are away from the wire spool, and feed assembly), and bail type latches on either side, also with heavy pop-rivets (still gotta watch out for the internal parts), to solidly connect the lid to the machine body. Now, I can simply grab the handle, and go. I used the handle and latches as templates for where to drill the holes, and pop pop pop, it was done in about 20 minutes.
Love mine! Super easy to use and handles every day welding needs I might come across. Its so portable I keep mine with gloves in a 20mm ammo can. Great buy for 100 bucks.

I’ve owned this for a few years now and I have never welded before, this thing is amazing! I researched this for a while and everyone said get quality wire don’t not HF brand so I got blue devil. Makes me look like an experienced welder, I have welded countless things to date and getting better each time as I learn, I am looking for a inexpensive class to take as it probably would great to understand what I am trying to do.
Jeeez...I gotta drive down to HF again! I was there twice on Sunday, once yesterday for the paint sprayer and now I gotta go back for a welder...wife thinks I'm nuts....😁

Just as a side note, multi pass on flux core is a big no-no for 99% of the flux core wires out there. They all say single pass. The wood becomes brittle and will crack easily.
I've had one of their flux core welders for 20+ years and it does ok on even a little Honda 1800w generator.
Very true, you have to use the correct flux core wire.....which I was NOT. It was just a test piece. Thanks!
I saw this deal and if I didn't have a Hobart 140, I'd definitely grab one. The portability would be nice though, but I almost never use mine outside the garage.
Mine came by email but I couldn't pull it up within the store, no service, and the cashier already had it saved. I'm sure the last couple days they've had a bunch come in looking for the deals and figure it's easier to just have the coupons ready at the register.
@-DIYPRO- lmao the service is bad in my harbor freight in NJ too. But yeah they should have all the coupons at the register, even if someone is unaware of a deal, giving them a coupon may make them more likely to come back or just make their day.

Will running it off a non inverter generator damage it? Since it's an inverter style & not a old school transformer.

For this deal you don't need to be an inside track member. Either download the app or ask the cashier.
Do have flux core wire brand you would recommend for a beginner?
There is not a big enough difference within the welds to matter. I honestly go with whatever is on sale. Sometimes vulcan, blue demon, no name brand on amazon. It all works.

if you run .030 and keep the tip further away (like have a bit more wire sticking out than normal), you might be able to get away with it. .023 wire you definitely could, but I think thats shielded wire only
