I GUARANTEE Judge doesn’t care how much Soto gets, just so long as it’s from the Yankees. Hey Hal, get this guy, and you’ll have Judge’s successor when he retires.

The difference between the the Mets and the Yankees is Judge. No offensive but there is no prestige in being a Mets player but being a Yankees legend will last forever. Money isn't everything.

No hard disagree he’s just one player of many Yankees on another team he’ll or a player like him would get a statue elsewhere no way this isn’t 1955 anymore also stop comparing a team born in 1900s vs teams born in the 60s 70s 90s that’s not even fair you can compare the Red Sox Braves cardinals dodgers giants but not those other teams history

On another note i wish the Yankees didnt DFA Michael Tonkin so quickly he was so valuable the first half of the season and was going through a tough stretch shouldve had a longer leash they couldve used him! I think Soto will go for the highest offer based on his responses to questions on and off all season. sseems like it's the payday that will count. I'm thinking mets or Dodgers will offer him more. Hal is too worried about Payroll which is kind of sad.. With the price of season tickets and just tickets in general and the amount of fans at every game, why not pay Soto and keep all the fans with him and udge being a huge draw.

Soto has one more test. Post season with NY. If he hits well and plays well then yes, he gets a blank check. If he hits 205 w few or no homers and they get knocked out early, there is no blank check. He maybe gets 500 or 550 for 12-15 years and if the Mets or someone else pays more, so be it. Go out and use that money to get two corner outfielders, a second baseman and a pitcher.

We need a Billy Martin Joe Tori combination Aaron Boone has had what five years to take the Yankees to the World Series got beaten out by the Astros back to back years wasn’t even close. Aaron Boone does not make the moves he should and he makes moves he shouldn’t move, I’ve watched every single game this year and my Christmas wish the only gift I want for Christmas is that Aaron Boone will not be back next year.

Soto extension means lack of talent for the team. Cole. Judge. Stanton. Rodon. So much money tied into those guys that's still owed. Yankees will not be the biggest money offer. Keep Soto and run Ben Rice, and a few no-names, we could be looking at a repeat of 2023 if they do sign or don't. It's crazy how bad of a position they are in going into an off-season. Truly a "WIN NOW" "WORLD SERIES OR BUST" team.

I watched Stanton for years in miami playing the outfield, Soto is a great hitter but he gives me Stanton vibes playing out there, Stanton is 34 now and moves like a statue. A couple key differences between Soto and Stanton:
      1) Soto has a far more sustainable physical build than Stanton
      2) Stanton played on turf in Miami for the first several seasons of his career, which is rough on the knees and hips of position players
      3) Soto has a far more repeatable, consistent swing than Stanton, as well as elite plate discipline

The Astros still currently have a losing record against teams above .500. Last I checked those playoff teams they will face are all above .500. They might seem like they’ve regrouped but in reality their division is an absolute dumpster fire and they’ve benefited greatly from facing three of the worst teams 13 times. They’re not what they once were that’s for sure. Not scared at all of that team.

I know no one wants to think like this but where do you think the Yankees pivot with their off-season spending if Juan Soto signs elsewhere? All of a sudden, you have all of this money that you were going to allocate to one guy and now have to/get to spend it elsewhere? The Yankee infield has a lot of questions for next season. The only guy I'm guessing we're 100% sure of is Jazz Chisholm and he could be at second or third base. Anthony Volpe will probably be there at short but he's been pinch hitting for in big spots lately--maybe the team is beginning to have some creeping doubts about his future. Alex Bergman of the Astros will be out there. I don't really think this is a possibility but Pete Alonso would be out there. Wouldn't that be something, if Juan Soto and Pete Alonso switched New York teams. Willy Adames is going to look to cash in on a huge year, somewhere. Could the Yankees sign him and put him at second base?

I don’t know where Soto will end up but the Yankees will make a competitive offer. If by blank check you mean something like $600 million, then sure, maybe they won’t go that far. But they wouldn’t have given up the package they did for him without the intention of trying to retain him and not put their best foot forward. They’ll definitely be in the mix.

Nice interview! No offense to the other podcast analyst you use on your channel but you need to lose the "Jake" type co-host that you obviously outshine.

12:27 worth noting ARod kicked Boras out if negotiations in 07 to stay.
Could see Soto doing that if he loves the team like Alex did

Soto will go if the other team is offering a huge difference. But if they are offering 10 o 20 millions more.. Neh, he will stay. Taxes will eat those extra millions.
