    It is amazing to hear her laughter with so few available interviews of this goddess. Thanks for this find. Rest in peace, Nico.

    A lot of great artists/musicians came out of Germany; Nico, Klaus Nomi, Kraftwerk, Nina Hagen, DAF, Lake, and the marvelous Bert Kaempfert! There are so many more, but their names escape me now. "Thank you" for posting this, as I have enjoyed Nico's music for decades. She was in a class by herself; a true visionary! Her second album, 'The Marble Index', is pretty much what a journalist once wrote about it; a complete star trek into inner-space. IMHO that second offering is a true masterpiece. May Nico have found great peace beyond this life. 💐

    The best part is how she says that she hates when the audience doesn't listen.

    7:39 For some reason, it's very pleasant when an artist you love praises another artist you love.

    2:45 it's too bad she doesn't say Coltrane once. She gets there so many times. This is a perfect photo. She sounds like she was smoking hard--her voice sounds like a messed up vhs tape, but I just want her to burst into singing so badly it is difficult to listen to. * 7:39 "there's only Tom Waits I like as a singer." Awesome.

      I believe it, but it's kind of unclear. Did she meet Kraftwerk or Neubaten? She answers about both of them almost too quick to have heard. 7:51

    It's a shame she deteriorated from drugs and tragedies and didn't take care of herself more. She was an attractive model and though I didn't love her voice I did find her to be an original who was indeed creative & interesting. Few of today's female artists approach such a level. They try, but they are emulating her instead of trying to shape a characterization of their own. They get too weird or try too hard to be embellished. They didn't learn from her. The only female as intense and original as Nico was Marlene Dietrich. (In my opinion).
    Nico was pure in her approach. Her interviewer, a foreigner, asked some excellent questions. Intelligent questions, in-depth questions that weren't pop magazine-type inquiries. Her time with the Velvet Underground was a little strained but it was her contribution that elevated them into a unique band. But it had egos in it. But here, Nico sounded like an artist who was a good interviewee.
    The Doors were great musicians but without Jim Morrison's mystique, they didn't add up. The Jefferson Airplane/Starship were excellent musicians but without Grace Slick, they became a pop group with mainstream flavors instead of the edge Grace gave them originally. You can't compare "Somebody To Love," & "White Rabbit" to "We Built This City." I think they knew it too. The cash register became one of their instruments.
    RIP Nico. The late Nick Drake may have appreciated your artistry.

      How can you say the interviewer was a foreigner if they were Norwegians in Oslo?

    • @lastrada52
      @lastrada52 16 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @@corteo - Because I'm alerting listeners that the interviewer is not an English reporter, that's all.
      It's someone from another country, the speaker will have an accent -- it's no dig at the reporter. The reporter is a foreigner to other listeners in other parts of the world. Get it?
      And I wasn't aware at the time specifically that the reporter was from Oslo -- I don't have to be that exact I'm not writing a book about it. It's a post.

    I thought too of Fraser lyrics kind of in Tananore...I don't know Magma....It's a pity they don't talk more about Tananore...I suppose this is from 1985, isn't it? Wasn't Camera Obscura released that year?
