- Explore the enigmatic life of Nico, the iconic chanteuse of The Velvet Underground, in this captivating video journey. From her early days as a fashion model in Berlin to her pivotal role as a vocalist in Andy Warhol's avant-garde scene, delve into the tumultuous yet influential career of this mysterious artist.
Her son looks exactly like his father, Alain Delon. So sad that he died so young!
Happy birthday Nico. 16.10.24
Nice that you thought of her on her birthday. She would have been 86.
@@DonatoDamiano-r2g I met Nico personally in 1987 after a concert. Her grave is 10km from my place ...
In general a good summary of Nico's life. Nice to see some rare Nico photos on here, but showing up 3 photos of Nico together with Lou Reed, who barely had an influence on Nico's solo career, but not a single photo with John Cale, who would become the most important person for her further musical progress after the Velvets is pretty meh.
Nico was gorgeous.
R.I.P Nico Ari Edith 💔😢🙏
Excellent video, Nico has always been so mysterious to me. Very very beautiful woman. What an amazing life she had! I had an idea, wonder if you’d thought of looking at Melanie (Safka’s) life. She was such a brilliant singer/songwriter. And I’m not sure if you’ve looked at him before, but Mick Karn, such brilliance, of the group Japan.
(P.S. I found this channel on Instagram, following now!)
Thank you for following on IG 🥰 Will definitely check out Melanie & Mick and thank you for the suggestions 💯❤
@@HarmonyHeartsLifestyle-ul5yv it’s amazing how you continually upload such quality. I can only imagine the research and work involved. Thank you!🤗
@@DeidreL9 Thank you 🤗
Like mother, like son. Desert Shore is my favorite of her albums. Little Ari sings on it.
Nico's singing The End (The Doors) from the album June 1, 1974 (Kevin Ayers) makes you think this is the end. Awesome Version!!
Interesting never heard it
A classic record indeed featuring many of the great artists of that era. Nico & Kevin also teamed up on The confessions of Dr. Dream.
Dude, you are a master biographer... every video you release is absolutely thorough and completely interesting. Keep it up!!! You need to possibly do one on Eric Carr from Kiss and Ray Gillen from Black Sabbath and Badlands. Those would be good. Thanks again for the great work!!!1
Thank you so much! 🤗 I have already done a video on Eric Carr! 😁 Will see if there is enough information on Ray to do one for you 🥰 Thanks again 😊👍
@@HarmonyHeartsLifestyle-ul5yv Thank You So Much and May God Bless!!!
When Nico lived in Manchester she lived in the same area as myself (Prestwich) she used to go in the same pub as i did which was also the haunt of The Fall leader Mark E Smith . Drugs had certainly taken their toll and she coud regularly be seen cycling around the area.
Is that when she shared a flat with John cooper clarke ?
@@jazztheglass6139 It's possible, she was living in a nice area but the flat she was in was a bit run down, maybe she moved out to live with Jcc it was only a few minutes down the road.
Brian Jones got Nico on the drugs.
Je suis époustouflée par la vie de cette femme. Incroyable le parcours qu’elle a emprunté. Superbe femme. Merci pour cette bio 👍
Thank you, so pleased you enjoyed it 🥰
Nico and John Cale were an incredible musical team. My favorite Nico song us 'Janitor Of Lunacy'.
Her version of These Days makes you take pause of your black heart

Who's asking you?
1 year and a half ago I plunged headfirst into a Nico passion and I have yet to come up for air. Drana of Exile, Marble Index, The End..i drink them in like wine.
She was done so wrong by the people around her. Lou Reed was absolute scum to her. Men hit her and quit her and the degradation they came with drug addiction. She had multiple flaws but she left a Canon of work to continues to inspire and influence. I hold her amongst the greatest most revolutionary artists male or female.
Loe was good for her
I'm also at a point of Exile in my life living in a small town riding my bike to and fro and just living my existence. Sometimes those points in your life can be very fortuitous because it's a gathering phase for greener pastures. I believe if she had lived on she would have either become a prolific writer or continue to do her work uncompromising to others. She would be the last one to succumb to any of these frivolous politically correct mores plaguing society.
