- Movie abouth work and colaboration of Velvet Underground and Nico. This is one of Andy Warhol's 1960s "underground movies" called "The Velvet Underground & Nico: A Symphony Of Sound", which consists of footage of The Velvets having an impromptu jam at Andy Warhol's Factory, New York, in 1966.

He was very a small part of Andy's projects, but a big one in Nico's life. Rest in peace Ari Boulogne. May he rejoin with his mother Nico.
🙏💜💜💜
The Velvet Underground digging into a motorik groove that later Michael Rother perfected on Neu!, Neu! '75, and his solo album Sterntaler.
This is what liminal spaces sound like
yeah, very unique experience.
John Cale is and always be THE Maestro ❤❤
A drone blueprint for Spacemen 3, especially their long loose slow jam album "An evening of contemporary sitar music"
One of the best band ever
apart from the Shaggs hahaha.
the chats.
this is pure history of fucking great music. video is absolutely beautiful. it feels like something else when watching it
Rest in eternal peace Lou!!!

you all probably dont give a damn but does anybody know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account??
I was stupid forgot the login password. I would love any tips you can offer me!
@Mordechai Cayson Instablaster ;)
@Kaysen Graham Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm trying it out now.
Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Kaysen Graham it did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. I am so happy!
Thanks so much you saved my ass !
The kind of video that makes anyone think they can start a band. Genious because it is now legendary. I play his song hooky wooky and sing it. It's a mind blow!
Sentí exactamente lo mismo.
NICO
Moe Tucker play cool, the complete band is so cool and Nico is like an angel
Imagine being a 5 yr old kid or whatever age the kid in the film is and be hanging out in Andy Warhol's Factory listening to the Velvet Underground jam & looking at all the freaks that come and go....I wonder what affect that would have on you? or would it have any affect at all?idk never had kids hahaha
Respect in Eternity Nico🖤🖤🖤Dark Angel
Fuck the ice queen looks a bit dowdy atbthe start until she flashes those eyes GÜT GOTT
I’m pretty sure the kid is Nico’s son Ari.
This is really good. Sounds like a gritty, disgusting jazz track played with sheets of metal. Although the camera man seemed to be struggling for some reason, like as if he was getting jumped as he was filming, the video captures the moment and vibe really well. I wish VU did more music similar to this in the 60s
That's what happens when your camera man is a whacked out of his mind on amphetamines and gets his hands on a zoom lens for the first time in his life.
Free jazz of Ornette Coleman & Coltrane.. disonance & feedback
Nico shot up on my toilet seat (a lot) I still have that toilet seat somewhere
what a late, but wonderful discovery on my 74th b'day! A pure delight. Did the great kid become a musician? Thank you, Lou Reed
you still around?
Who, the child sitting on the floor? That's Nico's son, Ari. According to Wikipedia, he grew up to be a photographer.
I hope you are still with us and that you can see this notification to see this video again 🌷
That baby just died today...

Proto-post-rock.
There's an old saying when it comes to art that you need to learn the rules and then you can break them. The VU learned the rules. The filmmaker (Paul Morrissey) did not.
Absolutely, just imagine Morrissey and Warhol would have taken their "art" a bit more seriously, what amazing footage we could've had on the Velvets. Damn it!
This is fantastic, I'm in the middle of reading 'up-tight ' the Velvet Underground story, so it coincides perfectly for me at the moment ♡♡♡♡
It's not a documentary. It's a ROCKUMENTARY !
It's a FEEDBACKUMENTARY!
Nico lookin sooo fine sheseeeessshhhhhhh shawty
Mort de Ari Boulogne fils de Nico et d'Alain Delon (non reconnu) ce jour. 💞🥰 😢
cool rare footage, but not exactly a 'documentary about work and colaboration of Velvet Underground and Nico'.
SHE is here
To protect
YOU
Think on that.
Pretty much
Not one
Like s HER.
SHE had to be
VERY BRAVE
To reach
YOU
I have seen this many times but it usually ends around 45 minutes. This has extra footage! cool!
What a surprisibg document on youtube
Nico is just wondering what she's doing with her life
Inspiring
is this where metal machine music was born?
#purity #passion #addiction #redemption #gamechanger
actually, more like the creation of the universe
3.14... I see. 2023 ✌️
What's the name of the song there playing in the beginning?
Rename the video to "...1966 Jam Session"
or leave it. its kinda funny
What's a documentay?
cool
so jealous ,i wanna be their now-on acid .>>superb jam.. Nico i love you still...thanks for posting.
Alright, who called the pigs?
I'm pretty sure that's Nico's son, Ari Delon.
Delon is the father of her son. the kid is Christian Aaron ‘Ari’ Päffgen
3 janvier 1966
It’s like watching a child deface the Mona Lisa with a box of crayons and a blowtorch.
ACE
on the whole, a cheapo mess, but if you're into experimental film. obscure velvets' jams, or just want to pick up the vibe of a new york now gone, then stick out the dead air for kool musical mand beauty moments.
Documentary???
42:53 a cop comes in and starts adjusting their sound because a likely noise complaint haha. Later you can see Lou reacting at 44:02 by mouthing “what the fuck”
in addition to its obvious artistic merit, was this thing also used to promote the DOM shows?
SOULJAHZ ROCKERZ, FiAH BUN Babylon shitstem....MARANATHA
Es el audio original o el audio pertenece a otra grabación de otro concierto?
casi seguro de que el audio corresponde al video
It’s original audio if I’m not mistaken
can u buy this on dvd ?
You probably can now, that it's 2024 when I'm reading this question.
2:09
42:40
50:00 and on sounds great
This sounds an awful lot like Jefferson Airplane. And The Velvet Underground hated JA for some reason.
Patti Smith said Elvis is the king and Grace Slick is the queen of RnR.
Met Nico once at the Whisky (a go go) in Hollywood. She was one of the scariest women I've met. Very serious.
Because Jefferson Airplane aren't fit to lick the dogshit off a boot
They hated everyone even semi associated with 60’s hippie counter culture. Even The Mothers of Invention, who were arguably even more anti hippie than they were
@@movieman4710yeah
.Frank zappa hated Beatles & VU..
@@maximilianogabriel9982 he liked White Light/White Heat
Hey man.. what are you talking about? Are you a "like" hunter?
Prodannn
*highlight* 1:00:00
What is a documentary anyway? This is documentation of some heavy shit
unfortunate about the focus in-out playing around. Of course the filmmaker never had in mind that 60 years later we might want to see the equipment they were using and how it was all set up. I don't see Lou's brown deluxe, just the silvertone and Cale's vox. Although some of the camera motions are interesting, had the camera been still, we would have learned more
iirc Reed and cale used vox amps during the VU&N and WLWH albums
You are probably witnessing that poor kid going deaf
He later said he had a great mother (Nico) - he's a famous actor
Is this band on drugs?
+John Smith No comment.
if thay are on drugs you're LOST IN SPACE!
They're not on drugs but the cameraman obviously was
It was 1966... everyone was on drugs back then
Bobo Cosmique . Haha, my thoughts exactly !
this is a bad home film. the only reason to watch it is for the music and historic value. no speaking, no information on the band at all. you probably need to be a real fan of the band to put up with this film.
+Patrick Hudson It's a Warhol film.........what do you expect ?
love the music sounds like some underground jazz
it's cool
This is revolutionary and the music is still ahead of it's time I always believed the velvet underground is the only good thing Warhol was associated with
Very bad filming, the guy had the horn for nico damn. A child could have done better.
Making noise, bullshit 😂
Clearly you have never jammed with a bunch of musicians before. I’m not judging but often times it becomes quite weird and noisy with ups and downs.
First time I've ever given a thumbs down for anything on youtube. And I generally love Velvet Underground. Waste of film...
+potstars1 Just because it wasn't titled correctly on youtube doesn't mean it was a waste of film.
I’m pretty sure the kid is Nico’s son Ari.
He is.
