    Such a very cool EDF jet. Love how you talk to new pilots that think they want this really cool EDF, but are not quite ready for it. I had bought planes I wasn't ready for, and it didn't always end well. lol
    For you new pilots out there, think about getting the RF 9.5s simulator, it will help you hone in on your skills before you buy a plane you're not quite ready for. Buy it from Brian's channel which helps them bring us great content or from your local hobby store. If you already have a good transmitter, then get the download version, that way you can set your DR and EXPO rates up on the transmitter you will be using to actually fly your plane. Thanks again Brian and Camera Crew for bringing us a great channel for RC planes, as well as setup and flight reviews.

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, thanks ;) So many new planes that will temp the novice, but if they buy this as a novice they will be a "one and done" and we are fighting back hard against the one and done pilots...we want every pilot that's interested, to get to their full potential, and be flying for a long time!!!

    • @TheFrenchPug
      @TheFrenchPug 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I bought the 9.5s and those jets move very fast and landings are very realistic (and really take some finessing). They are also all different on their flight and landing characteristics. Jets are not easy!

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Enjoy! I didn't mention to set the break force to 7...this was not something I was aware of, but it's supposed to help slow down the EDF's in preparation for Reverse Thrust. Also, the factory rep suggested upgrading firmware "because it's more stable" - which made me scratch my head a little...seemed pretty stable to me, the way we did it ;)

    The V-1 was my first edf if you don’t count the Arrows Marlin and 50mm Viper. I thought I had bit off more than I could chew. “6s? Twin engines? Who do I think I am, Brian Phillips???”
    Turned out it was one of the best flying planes I’ve ever owned. At the time of the 3 maiden flights it reminded me of how easy the Twin Otter flew, but twice the speed.
    Time for a backup!

    Your videos are excellent and the assembly advice second to none, full of good tips to make it all easier to assemble and fly. Always checking to see what you are reviewing. Your wife should be working behind the camera in Hollywood. Now make that beautiful compact concrete runway twice as wide and put up a couple of posts with a fish net ( or badminton net) at the end of your strip to catch the stray planes that try to go over the "cliff" as was done with this A-10.......hahaha......you were lucky this time.

      Awesome - Glad you're here with us! My speed through Radio Setup can be an issue, so please accept our apologies. If you want it slower, you can actually change the playback speed on the videos. If you click on the GEAR ICON, then choose playback speed of 0.5 Times or 0.25 Times, this might help. Give this a shot.

    This is the nicest A-10 I think I've seen in a kit form and I used to work at McClellan Air Force Base and this thing flies quite a bit better than the real ones in terms of scale speed and maneuverability. A beautiful plane but I'm not ready for it at my skill level. Maybe someday since i have wanted an A-10 for a couple of years.

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For sure! If and when you're ready, it's one of the best EDF's out there. Flies great, very forgiving, and powerful. Also lands well, but this plane DOES float forever, so give yourself some room when you're ready to take the plunge ;)

    • @TheFrenchPug
      @TheFrenchPug 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Buy the little UMX A-10. That will give you a good idea on how it flies. The thing scoots very quickly through the sky. And yes, it glides very good.

I wouldn't tempt it with that gorgeous bird neither. Great video!! My only complaint is with HH and this is kinda a catch 22. I get they wanted to make it smart and I dig the smart electronics. But dang.... It's they were in a meeting and one of them was like "I got an idea. Let's make people think we're discontinuing the A10. That way they'll buy up all the old stock in a panic. Then let's drop smart tech in it, hike up the price pretty extensively, then market the crap out of it. It's a win win!!" 😂 😂 just the thoughts in my head. Great video and awesome flying as always!! it needs damping on the landing gear. if you come down hard, it bounces like a pogo stick and then comes down hard on the nose, stripping the nose gear servo, busting the retract etc.
    put the wings on before you glue the elevator so you can line it up properly.

    ideally the penny pod is best held in place by using a couple flat earth magnets! I speak from experience. i have over 100 flights on my A10 and haven't broke the penny pod yet. . I have had it get knocked off a few times but with magnets thats how its suppose to work

    Hey Brian, I need some advice. I flew my 1.1 T28 for the first time today. Second battery I managed to hit a light pole. It happens I guess but my issue is the motor shaft looks like it may be bent off center. Do you think it would be fixable or will I need to replace the motor? I managed to damage nearly every part of the plane so if the motor is shot is puts the price of fixing it not worth it. Would probably just need to buy a pnp version.

    • @BrianPhillipsRC

      Such different planes. I feel like this A-10 would be a great choice if you're geared toward jets, but if you want a more practical "everyday" flier, that's going to give you more flight time, the P-40 might be for you.
      Honestly, when they're that different, I look at it like this...
      I want both.
      So, really the quesiton becomes, which one do I want FIRST?
      Decide based on what's IN STOCK, and what's likely to STAY IN STOCK...I.E. Are they going to discontinue the "other plane? If so, you might get the "Other plane" first.
      I think this being pre-order, might be #2 on the list???

      I have no idea about Crossfire. SAFE and AS3X are built into Spektrum Receivers, so if you buy something else, you need to make sure the stabilizer they offer, if they do, will work as good. It's not a small detail, fyi - it can make or break a plane.

    Hello Mr. Phillips. I am about ready to purchase this A10. Having enjoyed your "field fixes" on many RC planes, I am very curious about your take on the fact that the rudder servos are permanently entombed in the vertical stabilizers once they are glued to the horizontal tail. This seems like "paint yourself in the corner" engineering. How in the heck would someone replace or upgrade the servos without destroying the entire tail assembly? Thanks! Dale.

    • @BrianPhillipsRC

      You only have to use some KICKER (CA Accelerator) to get the glues to break down, BUT I wouldn't plan on having issues. I haven't (yet) and don't suspect it to be an especially high probability of failure....at least this point.
