Very new to this world and desperately trying to take in as much information as possible to help my 13 year old with this hobby. Setting up the NX8 is a but of a learning curve for us, especially taking the jump from the RTF world. I must have watched this video 20 times trying to go step by step with you andthe transmitter setup. I’m not sure I figured it out yet, but I think I’m getting there! I just keep pausing to make sure I’m following the setup correctly. I can only hope I get the ability to navigate and make the necessary changes as fast as you do. It makes my head spin at this stage of learning. Thank you for your detailed videos…they do in fact help the rookies like me more than you know!
From HH Product support Oct 25 2022: "Hello, Reverse thrust is not supported on the T-28 1.2 as it uses an avian lite esc. We do not promote or recommend the use of reverse thrust on this model, this is why it is not in the manual or put on supporting documents and our official promotional video. If you choose to add that you can upgrade to a full avian ESC to get that programmability and capability. Thank You,
Man, the neighbors that live to the left of you are very lucky! I wish I lived there if only to watch you fly. But I know I couldn’t resist and would have to come over and bug you. Thank you for all your hard work and the camera crews hard work! I am very excited about this one!
Hey Brian, an easier and less fussy way to check that SAFE is on is to leave it on the stand and just push one of the wings down into a bank angle. if the ailerons go up and down and stay that way, you're in SAFE. No need to pick it up and flip it upside down and spin it around. Less manhandling and just as definitive. As always thanks for the videos, both build and flights. Always informative!
I'm currently restoring my first version 1.2, and yeah my control horns are flipped in the back, elevator and rudder. I rebuilt my motor mount and made a new plywood firewall, adjusted it 2 degrees and 5 degrees motor angle, and one thing I didn't have, was the radial engine insert. You were talking about people getting creative..... I cut the bottom of a 2 L Mountain Dew bottle, and used it as my radial engine. Now I have a 5-cylinder radial, LOL
Just preordered mine today using your link. Thanks for another great review !!! Can't wait to get this in for my brithday. Love the great content and the adult humor at times keeps things light and fun to watch. p.s. LOVE THE REVIEW ON THE YAK 130
An idea for your stand, get a second stand and shorten the tubs for your smaller planes. I love your videos. I do watch them all the way through, even if I already have seen it.
I have the V1 and preordered this one! Another great video Brian and Mrs. Phillips. Really admire your honesty in the reviews, you do the RC consumer a great service!
This plane is a JOY to fly. I just flew it again tonight...again on 4000mAh 4S 30C G1 pack, and about 10-12 minutes, then warning and I back off for another 5 minutes of scale flight...so much fun. It's an ABSOLUTE joy to fly. Good weather or bad...it is an EVERY-DAY-FLIER!!!!
Thanks. I contacted them today and they said TR is not supported by the Avian Lite ESC..but you got it to work. Don’t know why it works when it’s not supposed to. The full Avian is $99!
Just maidend mine today in some medium high winds. I didn't have any issues with it except the grass field has some rough spots and on one landing the thing dug in at the tail end of the roll out and flipped over (just a little paint removed from the top of the vertical stab). The only reason I didn't get one of these earlier is because I fly a lot off grass but I have found a couple of ways to manage that now that should work when not at the main field with a runway. I do not recommend this to a beginner pilot as there is a lot going on. You have to have good throttle management and in addition to flying be able to think about using the gear and flaps as well. That's just extra complications for a beginner. That said I'm loving this plane and hope I can maintain the health of that nose wheel strut.
Brian, I want to thank you for your thoroughness and attention to detail. I just bought the T28 Trojan V2 and two 3200 mAh 4s 3c Smart Batteries from your TH-cam link. Your place looks like somewhere Iowa, my extended family is from Kalona Welman area, so thank you for your help from Ok. USA America! 👍
Just ordered one of these and 3200 4S G2 through your link. Can't wait to fly this beauty! Will look good in my hangar next to the Carbon Cub S2, RV-7, and new UMX Pitts! Really enjoy your channel!
@@genes6703 I love it! It comes along with me every flight as a warm up plane. I did upgrade the nose wheel landing gear to the Freewing T-33 as the stock one bends easy on my bumpy runway (grass). No more issues after that! Great flying plane with excellent rudder authority, slow flight stability, and great 4S speed!
Why watch any other RC reviews? Just watch Brian`s detailed build , set-up and flying videos and you know all you need and more! Thanks Brian and Meghan!
GOOD MORNING FROM ENGLAND BRIAN. IM SO HAPPY HH HAVE BROUGHT THIS AMAZING LOOKING AND GREAT FLYING PLANE OUT. CAN'T WAIT UNTIL ON SALE IN ENGLAND. THIS YEAR IS LOOKING GREAT SO FAR FOR OUR HOBBY (EXSPENCIVE YEAR LOL) THANKYOU FOR FILMING CAMERA CREW 💐. HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND.🇬🇧🇺🇸⭐🌟✨✌️👍
Great video! I'm so stoked to get one of these! I love my 1.1m. Also, I'm glad you pointed out the crappy cut/fit on the canopy. My 70mm Viper, 70 and 80mm F-16 ALL were like that. I did tell HH about the viper canopy. They were cool about it and sent me a replacement canopy. But it was actually worse than the original and unusable. Hopefully that is a problem that will be fixed in the future. Still love HH though. Maybe just need to get some new people in their QC department. Again, love your video's! #1 RC Channel on TH-cam!!
@@samdavis4471 That's a very vague response. Though, would you like a cookie for that? It's still branded and sold as/by HH. FMS has made planes for a bunch of other companies as well. Still puzzled out of my whole comment I get a reply "FMS makes the plane" 😂 😂 Not being mean, just thought it was funny lol hope you have a great day!
I finally tried your rubber shelf liner Mod..Works awesome!!. No slippage on battery and no annoying velcro stuck to my battery!!..I just watched a patrincic brothers video of motion rc,s Freewing 80mm t33.They said it comes with a rubber liner for the battery tray...UM, maybe u should of patented the Idea!...lol...thanks as always Brian!.. Ps, I finally gave in. I bought a spektrum smart charger and G2 battery I couldnt be happier...BUT I am sticking with my radio master TX16s (i figured out forward programming).I have safe and as3x on a 3 position switch something people were having a hard time with. I just like the controller alot better. Also the entire line of the eachines 400mm planes come already programmed into the newer version of the radio master TX16s.(eachine now puts out there own rm tx16s).Either way i love the videos and info u always share thank you!..
These videos from Brian and the camera crew. are very cool and are spoken in human language so that we beginners can understand what needs to be done. p.s. I'm a beginner in this sport, and I really like to put together and hang some airplanes in my room that I get to use, ha ha, there must be some discussion at home about this and this is how it is, FMS Kingfisher 1400mm Twin Beechcraft D18 1.5m BNF Basic P-51D Mustang 1.2m with Smart BNF Basic Hangar 9 Fun Scale P-47 Thunderbolt PNP 58.4" Balsa wood. E-flite Cherokee 1.3m BNF Airplane (1308mm) w/AS3X & SAFE E-flite T-28 Trojan 1.2m Bind-N-Fly Airplane w/Smart ESC, AS3X & SAFE. Now it's time to practice flying ha ha. Brian and the camera crew thanks for the great video Brian and camera crew Merry Christmas. Peter
Hey Brian your videos are some of the best regarding rc airplanes. Thanks for what you do! My only hope for the channel would be a camera with a nice lens that allows for close up in flight shots and a heavy duty tripod that would make it very easy to follow and pan. I think I speak for all the airplane nerds who would appreciate being able to see the beautiful airplane while flying instead of a black speck.
On my 1.0, I activated safe using E-Flite's Desktop Software. I like safe as a back-up panic switch and landing in high winds, worked great, but I also added an upgraded ESC so I could fly on 4S, it has turned into my favorite plane. I hope E-Flite brings back all their 120mm Warbirds in 2.0, would love to get another P-47 Razorback as a back-up to my modded one in case I can't repair it.
I wish they had the brake force info in all of the manuals with the Avian ESC. I learned about it by seeing it in the Cessna 150t manual then contacted Horizon support to verify that it should be used on any plane that was able to utilize the reverse feature of the Avian ESC. So the same holds true for planes like the TT Evo, A-10 and whatever else is able to use reversing. I think the TT Evo has the same info showing the brake force as 7 but cannot recall off hand.
I got the 1.1 awhile back and love it. Then I see other brands with landing gear and flaps so I get one of those. It’s nice but not very forgiving on the landing gear. And now HH does this one LoL. And this is by far the better of the 2. I would like to see how you would do LED’s if it can be done.
They already had one years ago, and it was great. The 1.1m has a time and place, and you will still LOVE it when you get this too ;) Do it - totally different flight experience!
Patiently waiting for nice weather to fly in Upstate NY. I have the Eflite T-28 Trojan 1.1m that I built and still haven't taken it up yet. Winter has been awful here. This looks awesome though.
I have the early version and the newer yellow one. They both fly great, might get this one but worry about the nose gear. I fly on grass and the landings have to be perfect or it bends and trying to straighten it usually breaks it. Found a jet nose gear with oleo and that works great. You can’t buy just the nose gear and that’s bad. Don’t need the whole set. This gear looks just like the last one, nose gear is not strong enough. Just my two cents.
Yeah when I got mine, the nose gear was thrashed, and sloppily glued in place. I made my own custom nose gear setup, and now I have steerable retractable landing gear😊
Thank you Brian and Megan. Have the 1.1 and love it. Have been waiting for this version and ordered it two days ago. I am disappointed it doesn’t have LED’s. Since this is a feature often omitted on different models how about showing us how to add LED ‘s to this model? Thank you and keep up the great work.
We've done a bunch of videos showing how we add led's, but it's a time consuming thing, and we don't do it much any more. It's not that we don't care, but we've learned that the twilight hours are tough for US to film in too...so the LED's are less critical to filming, and more critical to enjoying it for yourself.
@@BrianPhillipsRC I realized this after I made the request. Perhaps you can reference one or two of the videos you have already covered installation of LED’s. Thank you
Does this fly better than the P-51D 1.2m? I bought one but I have yet to fly it because part of me thinks I should get a warbird trainer before trying to fly a P-51.
I love them both, but this plane has lower wing loading, since it's a bigger wing, and this plane seems to be WAY FAST! I know it's strange, but I love this one slightly better....maybe I just prefer the tri-cycle gear?
Very nice! Going to have to expand the hobby room... Agreed no Pilot Fatigue on my prop planes. Need an updated Mustang 1.2 next. Definitely adding lights.
Hi Brian Unfortunately I scraped the roof of a house with my P-51D June Nite last weekend. Would you say that the T-28 is a good replacement? Greetings from Switzerland
Ive never got real excited about the T-28 until I saw this plane. I got the new release email from eflite on this plane and was thinking.. Yeah I will probably get it at some point soon.
I had the same issue with CG so I put 5 OZ lead in the Fuselage rear. am confused why E-Flight would design a plane with the battery tray that can't be used?
I just got the T28 1.2, used from a friend. It's been crashed and I had to disassemble the glue job and rebuild it. I'll post it when it's finished it's a complete redo
You have 7 channels to work with on the NX6. 1) Throttle 2) Ailerons 3) Elevator 4) Rudder 5) Gear 6) Flaps 7) Thrust Reverse (OR SAFE on/off - gotta pick one)
In another comment I was describing how I bought a trashed 1.2 T28 OG. All the control surfaces were taped back on, the rudder had a zip tie through it. After redoing the plane, to reattach the control surfaces, I came up with a cool idea.... I made new hinges out of the straps that come on big packaging.... itworks unbelievably. It's strong, it's light, and it's cheap. I just figured I'd throw my couple ideas I've had on here to help anyone else out in the same situation. Take a guess what color scheme I'm using... 😏👍🇺🇦
Hey Brian, just got this trojan, and all your mods and setting up process really helps so thanks for that. Just a question about something. There is a lead coming off the throttle wires that isn’t connected to anything. It only has a yellow wire on the connector. Do you know what’s that’s for? Is for FPV or LEDs or something like that. Thanks
Brian, I was wondering why you need to set up safe, as3x as flight modes. Can’t you just set them up on a switch and not thru the flight mode method. Is there a benefit to using the flight modes. Thanks
I have a Radiomaster TX16S and I run a 4000mAH Glacier battery in that. In a way I wish I had bought the NX8 or NX10. Only reason being is using the simulator I can’t use all the same switches because one switch on my transmitter is a momentary that I use for rescue or call out.
Yes you are correct that the camera crew is awesome. One question. Did you ever slide the keeper onto the rudder linkage? You Mechanically adjusted but never slid the rubber sleeve over it.
I own a ISDT D2 charger and I was wondering which battery I should get to fly the T28 V2 when I can afford to buy one? I am still new and own the UMX Turbo Timber that I have been practicing on the simulator all winter. I also love the T28 on the simulator. I can’t afford a different charger. Also how does the tricycle landing gear do on grass because I would be flying in a park with no pavement for landing?
Another great and awesome video from Brian Phillips and his wonderful camera crew ! Great Plane, I just wish I waited a little bit longer for this release , the version 2. Hey Brian could you link where you get the drawer mat you use with keeping battery secure in your planes ? I will definitely be picking up this plane also for my fleet. You are the Best ! Never Stop the RC !
Shelf liner - amzn.to/3pp9eZ4 - this is similar to what we're using...very cheap...but if you get a lot, you can tell your wife you need more planes to "use it up" - LOL ;)
Why don’t you like to use Velcro, Brian? Is it just because it’s faster to remove the battery and it lessens the chance of ripping the Velcro off of the fuselage? Have you had any issues with “battery ejection” with shelf liner?
I hate the fact that velcro is always on the wrong side, and it's hard to put them in and out, then the battery is HOT and the adhesive likes to pull off the battery, or obstructs the labeling...lots of reasons why I'm not a fan of velcro. As for battery ejection, I HAVE had batteries come out, but only in strange situations, and not with shelf liner. These were in strange foam compartments I made, and they didn't always work. As for shelf liner failures...I've had issues with battery walking back into the motor on the Blade 330S heli, prior to my most recent mod to move the cover OUT about 1/2 inch.
I am new to the Rc plane world and wondered how they are measured, I have a 90mm viper, STOL S 700 ,50mm viper and just ordered this 1.2.. how do they come up with these numbers?
The EDF jets (Electric Ducted Fans) are measured by size of EDF FAN...so if it's a 50mm Viper, that means the EDF fan is that size, but you can also see the WINGSPAN, if you look into the specs, which can be easily seen when you click on our links (then if you buy one, we do get some support form the company, if it weren't already clear). Most RC planes now-a-days are measured by WINGSPAN, so if it's a 1.2m T-28, that means the wings measure at or about 1200mm or about 47.25 inches. The rest of the plane dimensions are, as mentioned before, usually available from following any of our links (or I talk about it in the videos). Viper STOL (Short Takeoff OR Landing) 700[mm] is about 700mm wingspan. These are the many strangities you'll run into in the RC hobby, and we'll try our best to get you up to full speed as quick and painlessly as possible.
As for Xanex - YES, flying a real RC plane is a very involved process, and it can be sooooo scary and exciting ;) You will never be the same once you get the "bug" - good luck, and keep at it. This can become a lifestyle, or you can just do it from time to time, but either way, it'll enrich your life in a positive way!
Hello Brian, just got this for my 8 year old grandson. I saw the comment from Horizon about the Avian lite esc not being supported for thrust reversal. Which is the correct one to upgrade to? Thank you, Anthony
Not sure where they said this? I was just scrolling through the comments, and goodness gracious - there's a million of them!!! Sorry, but I can't speak for what HH said, but if the thrust reverse is available on the Tx or on the programmer, I'm gonna use it ;)
I have the yellow trojan and absolutely love it. Really wanting to add this plane to my hanger. I have the NX 6transmitter. Would that work for this plane. Since it has flaps and retracts.
You can do it, but you'll lose A feature... In NO particular order 1 Throttle 2 Ailerons 3 Rudder 4 Elevator 5 Flaps 6 Retracts 7 SAFE OR Thrust Reverse - See...you'll lose something. If you don't NEED SAFE...give it up on this plane, and get Thrust Reverse. You'll love it! This is why I've been saying for a couple years now, GET THE NX8!!! Sorry. The NX6 is great, but we have finally run into an issue ;(
Hi Brian, in one of your videos or in answer to this comment, can you describe the 2 trim switches at the top of the NX8 I haven't seen anything in the book that tells what they are for. (Ordered the radio from your channel)
Since this is a computerized transmitter, you can use them for whatever you want, but don't have to use them at all. Some guys like to use them for trims in alternate flight modes, but I personally just don't really find any use for them.
I wonder if TH-cam suppresses content that discusses a long wall or embankment built to prevent flooding from the sea? It would be a shame, but wouldn't surprise me. They certainly have a preference about what content is preferable and what is not, but hey their toy, their rules. Sir, hope you an your family are well and happy. Take it easy and have a great flight!
I mistakenly bought the PNP version then added the AR631. I have everything working including SAFE & reverse thrust, but can't get AS3X to respond even @4X and after throttling up.
If you have SAFE working, but you can't get it to switch, did you possibly accidentally NOT activate AS3X on one of the switch conditions you used, and assigned through a flight mode in Forward Programming??? I could see you ACCIDENTALLY deactivating it...but it would be on by default if you built the model following a similar PNP plane. Did you download the file, or make it from scratch?
@@BrianPhillipsRC from scratch. I downloaded a profile, but didn't like the quadrillion switch selections. It shows AS3X active on my FM switch...I'll check the gain. Maybe it's too low.
Hey Brian could u show a video showing when ur gear is down that the rudder and nose gear has expo and when gear goes up its normal..all the while still having dual rates and expo on a three way switch like u usually do..is that possible?
Are you asking to see HOW to tie an EXPO/Rate SETTING to another switch, like GEAR? If so, you can do that in a number of ways. Do it EXACTLY like I do in the Radio Setup part of the video, only use the GEAR switch instead of the "F" Switch like I normally do. This means you would have the "middle" "F" switch setting on GEAR UP position of the now "A" switch, then some HIGHER expo (or lower???) when the GEAR are down. Here's my issue with your request...it's not that you CAN'T do this, but I fear that you'll mix in some new bad habits in your flying. That being said, when you're new to flying RC, this is a great time to experiment and learn how to do these things...even if you might only do it on this plane. Just be ware, there will come a day when you fly the same plane without your special setup, and you'll be bamboozled as to why ;) Here's my recommendation...play with the mixing and the switch assignments, and see what works for YOU. This is all highly subjective, and I'm not right / you're not wrong....we all get to fit the transmitter to our specific needs. So, by all means, make it work how you want, but just be aware you MIGHT be building in some bad habits when you over handicap yourself. Hope this makes sense, and please hear it as trying to help you out, and not take the wind out of your sails ;)
Hi Brian great video as always, we are using the recommended battery but can’t get her to CG is it because I’m using the 83mm and not the plus or minus the extra 19mm? Where did you put it? 🙏🏻
Do me a favor. Try putting it just in the middle of the straps (center on the tray). She'll fly like an angel - Try it ;) I don't even check the CG on this plane anymore, about 20+ Flights in and LOVING EVERY SECOND!!! Amazing plane.
@@BrianPhillipsRC well we flew her and she was a dream until we did vertical climb and we got NX8 alarm beep and lost connection, she nose dived and is no more 😓 It's the second time in 2 weeks (different planes), could I have a bad NX8? All the Reddit guys are telling me switch to Futaba/Fkysky, I'm scared to take up any more expensive birds on this radio 😱😓
Have you set your throttle trim all the way down before setting the -130 thing? Its what I do per God or whatever, and have not had the issue you state.
LOL - "Per God or whatever" - LOL nice... As for the -130% I've been burned on it a couple times, and don't really get it myself, but some planes ESC's won't initiate at -100%, so not much choice, I guess.
Brian your enthusiasm for this plane inspired me to purchase it and I did so through your link. I’m happy to contribute to your channel through a great company like horizon. You and your wife do an excellent job bringing enthusiasm to the hobby. This will be my third plane and first professionally built product. It will set in my hobby room as inspiration to become a better pilot, I currently only have experience on Flight Test foam board home builds and I feel like this plane deserves a pilot with more skills than I currently have to offer it. I mentioned it before but you should consider attaching your timer to your throttle hold switch so that every time you shut down to explain things you keep an accurate flight timer. I can’t take credit for the idea though, I learned it from CoeShow619 an amazing heli pilot on TH-cam. What are your thoughts on a hard dirt runway with this plane?
Dirt runway should be no problem, but GRAVEL...not so much. Better to cut the grass short and mains only! Glad you watched, and glad you purchased through our links! Thanks Matt, but you are gonna love this plane so much! It flies absolutely amazingly! As for the timer thing, I do that sometimes, like on a sail plane, but keep in mind, on an AS3X or other stabilizer equipped model, you're burning through quite a bit of power just gliding around ;) This might come as a surprise, but some time for kicks, check it out on a current meter - crazy how much power gets sucked into servos with a windy day ;) Either way, to all their own - Thanks for being here with us, and for the support when purchasing. This adds up and really helps our family a lot!
HALLO.friend.yes VERY GOOD, sports,on the video. And offices,Brian Is very good, pilot. I have TO say. And ,vi/i . Learn soo, much. ABOUT the basic/ AND special,s thing,s . Going through, all step by step. Good man. And crew,Megan To . Mvh RENE' Pedersen.Danmark
Good day and thanks for the great video from you and co pilot. If you had to choose, which plane would you choose, T-28 Trojan 1.2 or T-28 1.4 regards Peter Reykjavík Iceland
Loved the video. Good information on thrust reverse. However, the stock ESC sold with the plane is NOT capable of thrust reverse since it is the “Avian Lite”. A replacement full up ESC cost about $70. Too bad. That will be a no go for me.
Hey Brian! I finally got my New T-28 Trojan and when connecting the wing and the Flap, Aileron, and gear harnesses I noticed a connector with a single wire left over.....where does this go and what is it for?
Might be the programming cable for the ESC...this one is a weird color too...right? Gear should be running the retracts, then Rudder should be running the steerable nose gear too - easy one to miss.
@@BrianPhillipsRC I think you are right about it being a programming cable for the ESC. I couldn’t find a manual for it but I found a manual for a couple of the other Smart ESC’s and it is labeled as a programming cable.
I don't know if the updated firmware on the DX-7 supports SMART ESC programming, but if NOT, you should be able to buy THIS thing (Avian ESC Programmer bit.ly/3FU73lY ) and just program the ESC, then set it up on a channel of your choosing. If it doesn't work, and it MAY NOT, never been a better excuse to upgrade to an NX8 ;) Either way, I wish you luck. Honestly, I don't see why you couldn't if you get the channel control...
Nice video Brian I have the older one do you think it will be ok on 4s I have heard others say they flew it on 4s it has a 40 amp esc I notice this one is 70 amp🤔
Fred - don't want you to think I'm mad at you because I'm NOT. If you want to follow the rules, I can't tell you what they are and how to do them, since I'm not a lawyer and don't want to incriminate myself when and they change and someone sees this video in 7 years...you have to learn what they are yourself, and keep appraised of any changes - YEP, the burden is on YOU, not the FAA even thought they'll have your email (insanity). Mostly, I REFUSE to use my platform to promote what I believe is a huge, evil over-reach of our government used to control of the most safe and wholesome practices in our civilization...it's disgusting. knowbeforeyoufly.org/home Grass is fine, if it's short...the nose gear will fight you if it's too long.
I just wasn’t sure if what I read on their site included fixed wing airplanes. I know helicopters and drones do. I personally follow the laws unless they violate God’s laws and that’s the only place I draw the line. At this point I am looking at holding off on buying one unless I join a local RC club with a field. PS don’t feel bad about the chicken coop. I lost control of my helicopter yesterday and it sailed into my Bass Tracker in the garage on the first flight of this year and I now am waiting for a new main body. Thankfully the servos, blades and ESC boards are fine. I suck as a helicopter pilot.
I just set up my breaking like yourself on the video (thanks for the tutorial btw) did you ever reduce the breaking of the prop? I'm thinking level 4 or 5? that seemed to be the level u wanted but u went with the technicians advice. cheers. Mark 🇬🇧
Actually, I want 0 for breaking, but the manufacturer recommended the higher values to help the motor "prepare to reverse". I personally want it to just free-spin (tractor) at 0% throttle and help create drag on final. This is one drawback I can see in the Thrust Reverse, but I could also make a throttle curve to give me a larger range at 0%, to allow the effects of the breaking to be less of a factor...but for now, it's working well, so probably won't play with it on this plane.
Brian check out part number FMS - FMMPM115RED at Horizon. Do you think this would be a good upgrade for the front landing gear on this plane? Do you think it would hold up better and not bend as easily? From the photos it looks like it should bolt right in and give you some shock absorbency.
Actual functional oleo here... same price... bit.ly/3vwtV94 Might consider this one, rather than the other one... bit.ly/3y8wzU5 (white without functional oleo) Whole Kit - bit.ly/3kylHXz (white) Ooops...on second thought...they both have function??? Check it out ;) Sorry for the slow reply! HH has actually made the parts availible for the 1.2m T-28 for WAY less...like $12 for the nose gear bogey only and like $40 for the whole set - coming really soon. I have the PN's but they aren't on the website yet. (follow my link and go to "replacement parts")
I bought the entire FMS kit with olios and finally got around to installing them after bending the nose gear back one too many times. Took a bit of customization but I was able to install them and let me tell you if you thought it landed nice before…. it’s a marshmallow riding on a cloud now! The ground handling improved dramatically on bumpy blacktop for both take off and landing. For those looking to replace their nose gear you could probably get away with just that and not the entire set because you do lose your flap doors on the mains doing this upgrade. You have to drill out the retract to accept the larger diameter rods used on the FMS gear but these will not bend like the stock gear. If you aren’t handy don’t try this upgrade but on a scale of 1-10 for difficulty I would rate it a 4.5.
What does ballooning mean, in reference to what you said during radio setup of flaps system? I've never heard this before and if you explained it I missed it
Ballooning referrers to when the plane goes up without elevator input due to flap deployment in this case. This is generally thought to be an undesirable response...thus the Elevator to Flaps mix, which is an invaluable feature of the NX8.
@@BrianPhillipsRC so you would correct this with down elevator? I know what you mean, in fact I hardly use flaps because of it. Maybe I would use them more if I wasn't pitching up so violently. I never realized there was a solution because the aircrafts tendency to pitch up with flaps down made sense to me, I just figured it was one of those things pilots deal with and my skill level wasn't high enough to want to deal with it myself So correcting it, comes with the benefit of being able to slow the plane while still producing lift, without annoying pitch input?
100%, it is, in fact, bigger, and it is a LOT more plane, with more features, more robust everything, and yet, I find myself still saying, DANG the 1.1m is a GREAT beginner offering. Both are good, but the 1.2m is WAY better - no doubt. Price points aren't far enough apart to justify getting the 1.1m, if you're not flying it as your 2nd plane ;) Good luck, as I know you're always comparing TWO - Good luck, if you have to pick, get the 1.2m (you won't regret it!) bprc.me/T28 (Same link, both sizes, fyi)
I had signal loss on my Dynam T28 probably do to low battery in my transmitter, sometimes it shows full battery but after checking the batteries with a multimeter it's actually low voltage 😮💨. So I think that's the reason for my crash ,sucks . Now I'm in the market for a T28 I may get one of these soon .🤔
I just unboxed and watched your video. I'm pretty much a newbie on transmitters.....gonna have to watch yours 3 or four times to understand. perhaps a. little more geared toward the newbie when you're setting it up.....
You'll get there. It's a LOT to take in, but when you have had a chance to do this 2-3 times, you'll be an expert. It's fairly intuitive, working with Spektrum, but we're here to help you along. P.S. We try to go a BIT slower on beginner planes, if you're interested, but this plane COULD be a beginner plane ;)
On the newer firmware, you can use as low as channel 5 for thrust reversing ;) If you have old, you can update firmware with this little guy - Avian ESC Programmer bit.ly/3FU73lY You won't have enough channels to do everything on this beauty though...since it's got retracts & flaps & thrust reverse In no particular order... 1) throttle 2) aileron 3) rudder 4) elevator 5) gear 6) flaps 7) AS3X/SAFE 8) Thrust Reverse ...which is why I keep singing the praises of the NX8. Sorry Sim Therapy!!!
@@BrianPhillipsRC Brian Thank You very much for the usefull information, sadly the hobby shop was like thats all you need haha! Even when I asked if the nx8 was better.
@@BrianPhillipsRC I actually realized I wont need flaps!!! I don't see me needing flaps because the planes dont need it to take off. And I saw this in a rcgroups: Bottom line: lightly wing loaded planes don't need flaps. Hi Pumpin. Many rc planes, especially the foamies, have such a light wing loading that flaps can actually make them too floaty when landing. To the point where you go too slow and get a tip stall. 😍
The T-28 flew air cover for us in Vietnam,,,, they were gray with the shark mouth and eye ,,, I would like to see them come out with a Vietnam vision Thanks Brian & c/crew your video are helping me a ton
Hello Brian. I just found your channel and I have to say that you caught me. What a cool explanation of everything. I’m an it engineer and pilot returning to the RC world and I’ll appreciate if you can help me with this. I was a Futaba guy and I bought a 10J a while ago (still new) So, this is my question. I’m thinking in buying this plane (now using your links) and I was wondering if I can use my 10J on it and what are the considerations, pros and cons of use it. As I have the 10J, I don’t want to expend money in a new spectrum. Thanks a lot for your help and advice.
Welcome! We're so glad you're here with us, and I try to explain things in a way to help people get into the hobby, or back into the hobby. If you're an engineer, then you'll hopefully appreciate my in depth explanations that some others may just be annoyed by ;) LOL Futaba makes a GREAT radio system, but I'll not be of much assistance, since I don't know their system. One of the biggest advantages of Spektrum, even in the midst of their admitted inferiority in some ways, is that Spektrum transmitters are some of the easiest to use, and VERY popular, so a lot of people use them! When you're new, or returning to the hobby, even if you get into a Spektrum Tx as a "stop gap" while you get your feet under you, you'll be in good shape, as you'll probably want to buy an Eflite BNF (Bind and Fly - meaning, it's got Spektrum Rx inside, so you'll need the Spektrum Tx to run it) plane from time to time, anyway, thus it won't be a waste of money. Here's my 2 cents, and YES, we will earn a few bucks if you follow our advice, and use our links, but that's not why I suggest this...it's advice I ALSO TOOK when I was new as an RC pilot, and it served me well. Get yourself a Spektrum Tx, maybe an NX7e or just go for the NX10, then follow along with us for a while, and we'll help get you started. When you're ready to dive deeper OR want to break into one of the other (4-5 right now) protocols, which might be 1-2 years depends on your level of interest and commitment, you can get into the Futaba stuff, but you'll already have the basics down, so you won't NEED much help from us. My hope is that you'll still hit us up from time to time to see the latest and greatest aircraft. As for "can you use your Futaba radio system" - YES, so long as you have the Tx and Rx, and you get a particular model in PNP (plug and play sometimes called, PNF plug and fly) then you can use your Transmitter and Receiver of whatever type you want, but there may be occasional issues you'll have to work through, and this is where people have issues. They're NEW, and don't understand how to handle these issues. This is why I suggest the former. One last detail, as an FYI. Futaba is MORE expensive than Spektrum in most cases ;) So if you're wanting to save a few bucks, stick with Spektrum. Now as you advance through the ranks, you might want to get into something more robust from Futaba, and that'll set you back considerably more...or Jetti if you want to re-mortgage your house ;) LOL JK, it's not quite that bad. bprc.me/Tx bprc.me/Rx
Thanks for all of your great videos, my question is I have the Flight 1.2 version 2 and love it ! If you can is the FMS 1400 new version as much fun and as easy to fly ?
1.4m from FMS? or THIS one? 1.4m is great, but the 1.2m is a BETTER BNF option, especially if you'll have the 2.0m Carbon Z at some point. The 1.2m has the thrust reverse stock, and BNF makes it work so much easier than what we had to do to the 1.4m, but the 1.4m from FMS is amazing too, but if you end up with TWO, get the 1.2m and then the 2.0m or vice-e-versa... bprc.me/T28 (same links for all of them at Horizon Hobby...if in stock) bprc.me/FMS_T28
Brian, you are a legend. Thank you. Did you find the lack of LEDs a pain in the Eflite 1.2 T28? The 2.0m not an option for me, I was considering this against the 1400mm FMS. However, looks like this is already being phased out and spares v. hard to come by. @@BrianPhillipsRC
Brian, thank you for all your great videos. Question: Would you recommend the Mustang or the T-28 1.2mm Trojan as the next plane from the 30 mm A10 EDF/Aero Scout/Sport Cub S2? Thank you in advance!
From HH Product support Oct 25 2022:
"Hello,
Reverse thrust is not supported on the T-28 1.2 as it uses an avian lite esc.
Thanks Rich! They don't ever do any of this. I suspect they wanted it to be very quiet, oh well ;)
Hey Brian, an easier and less fussy way to check that SAFE is on is to leave it on the stand and just push one of the wings down into a bank angle. if the ailerons go up and down and stay that way, you're in SAFE. No need to pick it up and flip it upside down and spin it around. Less manhandling and just as definitive. As always thanks for the videos, both build and flights. Always informative!
You can't always see the change. Trying to help newbies with the flip test.
Already pre-ordered mine. Thanks Bryan for your thorough discussion on one of my favorite models. As always, hats off to camera crew.😁😎👍
It is amazing, this model!!! So good, you will LOVE IT!
AWESOME! Glad you enjoyed the Yak too, that plane was WAY better than I expected it would be.
An idea for your stand, get a second stand and shorten the tubs for your smaller planes.
I love your videos. I do watch them all the way through, even if I already have seen it.
That would work!
LOVE this plane, future buy for sure when I feel like my skills meet up to it. Looks awesome and flies effortlessly.
Thanks. I contacted them today and they said TR is not supported by the Avian Lite ESC..but you got it to work. Don’t know why it works when it’s not supposed to. The full Avian is $99!
Well, I guess you should just do whatever I did ;) If you want it - LOL
You can, just hit the mains and your nose gear will live a long life ;)
Brian, I want to thank you for your thoroughness and attention to detail. I just bought the T28 Trojan V2 and two 3200 mAh 4s 3c Smart Batteries from your TH-cam link. Your place looks like somewhere Iowa, my extended family is from Kalona Welman area, so thank you for your help from Ok. USA America! 👍
Very cool! We're a waze away from there, but I do some business in Eastern Iowa too.
Just ordered one of these and 3200 4S G2 through your link. Can't wait to fly this beauty! Will look good in my hangar next to the Carbon Cub S2, RV-7, and new UMX Pitts! Really enjoy your channel!
You're gonna love it - amazing plane!!!
How do you like the plane so far. I just got one after having the 1.1 version for 2 years.
Thank you, sincerely!
@@BrianPhillipsRC Just finished the build. Easy, thanks to you...
Thanks, and yep...it'll be an over-priced, but amazing year of catch up!!!!!!!!! Can't wait!
I ordered one too Brian, thanks for the great work you and the honey are doing!!!
Awesome! Thank you!
Still puzzled out of my whole comment I get a reply "FMS makes the plane" 😂 😂
Not being mean, just thought it was funny lol hope you have a great day!
I do have a pair of canopy trimmers, and I might just trim the corners a bit. Very good otherwise. Minor issue on this plane!
These videos from Brian and the camera crew.
are very cool and are spoken in human language so that we beginners can understand what needs to be done.
p.s.
I'm a beginner in this sport, and I really like to put together and hang some airplanes in my room that I get to use, ha ha, there must be some discussion at home about this and this is how it is,
FMS Kingfisher 1400mm
Twin Beechcraft D18 1.5m BNF Basic
P-51D Mustang 1.2m with Smart BNF Basic
Hangar 9 Fun Scale P-47 Thunderbolt PNP 58.4" Balsa wood.
E-flite Cherokee 1.3m BNF Airplane (1308mm) w/AS3X & SAFE
E-flite T-28 Trojan 1.2m Bind-N-Fly Airplane w/Smart ESC, AS3X & SAFE.
Now it's time to practice flying ha ha.
Brian and the camera crew thanks for the great video
Brian and camera crew
Merry Christmas.

Great info in your vids. Just picked up the NX8 through the link buddy. I hope they break you off a good piece. Keep up the good work camera crew
Thanks, and we appreciate you doing it. Glad you got the NX8! You will love it!!!
Yes.
On my 1.0, I activated safe using E-Flite's Desktop Software. I like safe as a back-up panic switch and landing in high winds, worked great, but I also added an upgraded ESC so I could fly on 4S, it has turned into my favorite plane. I hope E-Flite brings back all their 120mm Warbirds in 2.0, would love to get another P-47 Razorback as a back-up to my modded one in case I can't repair it.
yes!
I would like to activate safe on mine how can I find out about how to do that?
I wish they had the brake force info in all of the manuals with the Avian ESC. I learned about it by seeing it in the Cessna 150t manual then contacted Horizon support to verify that it should be used on any plane that was able to utilize the reverse feature of the Avian ESC. So the same holds true for planes like the TT Evo, A-10 and whatever else is able to use reversing. I think the TT Evo has the same info showing the brake force as 7 but cannot recall off hand.
I was told 7 by one of the engineers at HH. Not sure if 7 is too much or not enough, but I've been real happy with the way it works ;)
Great flight ✈️ Brian!!! I have the original Bnf basic with out safe. I fly it on 3200. 4s and it’s amazing. One of my favorite warbirds
Me too ;) Still lives!
Did you change the esc to fly on 4s ?I have the original also with the 40 amp esc and want to try 4s ?
Patiently waiting for nice weather to fly in Upstate NY. I have the Eflite T-28 Trojan 1.1m that I built and still haven't taken it up yet. Winter has been awful here. This looks awesome though.
That yellow little bird is still my favorite plane.
AGREED!
Best in the game…. Listen to this man and his lovely camera crew😀😀😀
Thanks Mike!
I share your concern about grass ops.
Yeah when I got mine, the nose gear was thrashed, and sloppily glued in place. I made my own custom nose gear setup, and now I have steerable retractable landing gear😊
Love the look of this plane and the way it flies.
Flies sooooo good!
Brian, I just love your "Billy Mays" introductions. 😂
Looks like I'm in the market for a new plane. Thanks!
If I were a GOOD pitch man, I'd have to be a lot more dishonest ;) LOL
equally impressed with the camera crew!
Thank you
I love my new T-28 so they are shipping now. Can't wait to fly it
AWESOME!!!
@@BrianPhillipsRC Thanks Brian. I really appreciate your time and response. Even though I have the P51 1.2m I’ll get this one as well because why not?
Very nice! Going to have to expand the hobby room... Agreed no Pilot Fatigue on my prop planes. Need an updated Mustang 1.2 next. Definitely adding lights.
Totally!
Hi Brian
Unfortunately I scraped the roof of a house with my P-51D June Nite last weekend. Would you say that the T-28 is a good replacement?
Greetings from Switzerland
The T-28 is an amazing plane, but the P-51 is also very good. I like the T-28 more.
Brian spray silicone in the foam on your stand slide it back and forth a few time then wipe off an extra and you'll set
I want to try Talc...so it's not as messy....but I can get that done if the talc doesn't work. Thanks Harry!
The Silcone is gone after a day it just dries up what you don't wipe off after you slide it the full length a few times
Ive never got real excited about the T-28 until I saw this plane. I got the new release email from eflite on this plane and was thinking.. Yeah I will probably get it at some point soon.
It is very good, and you know I've flown a lot...I get around ;) LOL
I had the same issue with CG so I put 5 OZ lead in the Fuselage rear. am confused why E-Flight would design a plane with the battery tray that can't be used?
That a LOT of lead!!!
I was in my LHS today and they had the new yellow carbon z trojan 2.0 on the shelf. When are u doing a review?
I just got the T28 1.2, used from a friend. It's been crashed and I had to disassemble the glue job and rebuild it. I'll post it when it's finished it's a complete redo
If you can't get the glue apart, try CA Accelerator - this will break down most China Glues.
Something like this... Kicker amzn.to/2CQf24D
Yeah I was originally going to try nail polish remover but it'll eat foam pretty bad I imagine ....
So I’m assuming if we have the nx6 we can’t assign reverse thrust if we have retracts and flaps?
You have 7 channels to work with on the NX6.
1) Throttle
2) Ailerons
3) Elevator
4) Rudder
5) Gear
6) Flaps
7) Thrust Reverse (OR SAFE on/off - gotta pick one)
Thanks
This is the programming lead for the ESC, which you don't need unless you're using this thing...
Avian ESC Programmer Firmware Updater bit.ly/3PFWmZY
Brian, I was wondering why you need to set up safe, as3x as flight modes. Can’t you just set them up on a switch and not thru the flight mode method. Is there a benefit to using the flight modes. Thanks
Hi, can you reverse motor with only 6CH like NX6 ???
If you don't mind giving up some other function - I wouldn't be okay with it.
SUPER GREAT CAMERA 🎥 WORK. I’m a shutter bug my self. I get it, not easy. 👍
Thanks!!!
I have a Radiomaster TX16S and I run a 4000mAH Glacier battery in that. In a way I wish I had bought the NX8 or NX10. Only reason being is using the simulator I can’t use all the same switches because one switch on my transmitter is a momentary that I use for rescue or call out.
I hear that's a good Radiomaster.
Can you explain what the extra plug is coming off the throttle wire? Thanks
Sorry, I'm not 100$ sure...I think it's a factory programming cable.
I thought you were gonna dance a little jig or something, I can tell you really like that plane, great job guys thank u for the cold filming !!! Lmao
It is so good! I've flown it about 15-20 times since and it hasn't let me down yet!
Bonsoir Brian
Quel sont ces « bip » que l’ont entend lorsque vous accélérez a fond en montée
Yes you are correct that the camera crew is awesome. One question. Did you ever slide the keeper onto the rudder linkage? You Mechanically adjusted but never slid the rubber sleeve over it.
DUDE!!!!! Watch our second thoughts, when we air it, and you'll have a little chuckle!!!!
AMAZING CATCH!!!
No...and seriously - you're like a fortune teller - watch our second thoughts!!!
@@BrianPhillipsRC Thanks Brian ! and I will try and tell the Wife just that.. LOL :)
The only thing I have flown is my Realflight sim with a NX 8.. I am waiting on a script of Xanex to actually fly a plane..
Sorry, but I can't speak for what HH said, but if the thrust reverse is available on the Tx or on the programmer, I'm gonna use it ;)
Does the Spektrum NX6 have enough features to operate everything on this plane including thrust reverse?
I have the yellow trojan and absolutely love it. Really wanting to add this plane to my hanger. I have the NX 6transmitter. Would that work for this plane. Since it has flaps and retracts.
You can do it, but you'll lose A feature...
In NO particular order
1 Throttle
2 Ailerons
3 Rudder
4 Elevator
5 Flaps

7 SAFE OR Thrust Reverse - See...you'll lose something.
Dammit Horizon you found another way to get my moolah.
YEAH!!!
LOL - well said ;)
Awesome review and setup action, thanks Team Phillips. Note: scroll wheel on my NX10 occasionally gets kinda gummy as rolling action applied.
I'm trying to work this out on my NX8 too... I cleaned it with isopropyl alcohol, which helped some...but not 100% still
I mistakenly bought the PNP version then added the AR631.
Just be ware, there will come a day when you fly the same plane without your special setup, and you'll be bamboozled as to why ;)
Here's my recommendation...play with the mixing and the switch assignments, and see what works for YOU.
Will do! You're the man 👍🏼
Just to be sure though that's the little 4S 2200 right under the middle strap? Looks so small in there 😱
@@BrianPhillipsRC well we flew her and she was a dream until we did vertical climb and we got NX8 alarm beep and lost connection, she nose dived and is no more 😓 It's the second time in 2 weeks (different planes), could I have a bad NX8? All the Reddit guys are telling me switch to Futaba/Fkysky, I'm scared to take up any more expensive birds on this radio 😱😓
Have you set your throttle trim all the way down before setting the -130 thing? Its what I do per God or whatever, and have not had the issue you state.
LOL - "Per God or whatever" - LOL nice...
As for the -130% I've been burned on it a couple times, and don't really get it myself, but some planes ESC's won't initiate at -100%, so not much choice, I guess.
Hi Brian great video, we followed the setup android noticed that the SAFE angle limits for roll right and left are 80, doesn't that seem pretty high?
I like less limits...helps with tight flying sites.
As for the timer thing, I do that sometimes, like on a sail plane, but keep in mind, on an AS3X or other stabilizer equipped model, you're burning through quite a bit of power just gliding around ;) This might come as a surprise, but some time for kicks, check it out on a current meter - crazy how much power gets sucked into servos with a windy day ;)
Either way, to all their own - Thanks for being here with us, and for the support when purchasing. This adds up and really helps our family a lot!

Got all the goodies and looks better, but does it have the same wonderful floatiness of the 1.1m version?
This plane is JUST as good, and better. I had the 1.2m for years (v1) and it was the REAL deal...this one me wanting for nothing!!!
Loved the video. Good information on thrust reverse. However, the stock ESC sold with the plane is NOT capable of thrust reverse since it is the “Avian Lite”. A replacement full up ESC cost about $70. Too bad. That will be a no go for me.
I did this 100% stock. There was ZERO modification, other than activating the feature. You CAN do it.
@@BrianPhillipsRC Bryan, thanks for the encouragement. I’ll put the T28 on my wish list. Paul.
Can you change the landing gear if it breaks?
Sure. There was a time when it was hard to get these parts, but no longer an issue, until next time - LOL ;)
@@BrianPhillipsRC Thanks Brian! Which one is better? The 1.1 or the new one? I am not sure which one to get..
Will this Trojan work with my dx6e. Will it be like the viper 70mm setup whe4r safe is on the landing flaps?
You will not have all the features we showed, due to not enough channels. BUT you can get it to bind and use the plane, just won't have full features.
One more question for you, is it possible to set this up with SAFE, flaps and thrust reverse with a 7 channel radio?
So with a NX-8 I can bind all those models that come with those receivers? Like Horizon Hobby Carbon Cub, Eflite RV-7, Air Tractor, etc?
Is it possible to set this bird up with flaps, SAFE, and thrust reverse with a DX-7?
I don't know if the updated firmware on the DX-7 supports SMART ESC programming, but if NOT, you should be able to buy THIS thing (Avian ESC Programmer bit.ly/3FU73lY ) and just program the ESC, then set it up on a channel of your choosing.
If it doesn't work, and it MAY NOT, never been a better excuse to upgrade to an NX8 ;)
Either way, I wish you luck. Honestly, I don't see why you couldn't if you get the channel control...
Nice video Brian I have the older one do you think it will be ok on 4s I have heard others say they flew it on 4s it has a 40 amp esc I notice this one is 70 amp🤔
I never flew my old one on 4S, but this plane is amazing in V2 - I love it! (Also loved V1!!!)
@@BrianPhillipsRC thank you for replying 👍
How many mins flight time?
Depends on how you fly. Check the time stamps on the video when we take off and when we land.
Great Job, Great Plane. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thanks! Awesome plane!!!
Hi, is the fms 1.4 t28 landing gear fits the eflite t28 1.2?
Does the T-28 need to be registered on the drone registry? And can you safely land it on grass?
Fred - don't want you to think I'm mad at you because I'm NOT. If you want to follow the rules, I can't tell you what they are and how to do them, since I'm not a lawyer and don't want to incriminate myself when and they change and someone sees this video in 7 years...you have to learn what they are yourself, and keep appraised of any changes - YEP, the burden is on YOU, not the FAA even thought they'll have your email (insanity). Mostly, I REFUSE to use my platform to promote what I believe is a huge, evil over-reach of our government used to control of the most safe and wholesome practices in our civilization...it's disgusting.
knowbeforeyoufly.org/home
Grass is fine, if it's short...the nose gear will fight you if it's too long.
How in the world do you keep track of the thing and orientation past the eagle killing zone? Good lord the skill
Thanks - wait for the Second Thoughts... ;)
Halp , having ESC wornnig on my radio. Saying-" 13.5v 71.4a 102.2f". What i cam do ?
First, make sure the battery / ESC isn't bad.
Secondly, turn off "Telemetry Alarms" for those items...usually under SMART ESC and/or SMART Battery.
Any idea why my motor rotates when I try to fasten the propeller on my brand new T-28? This prevents me from tightening it down enough.
Brian check out part number
FMS - FMMPM115RED at Horizon. Do you think this would be a good upgrade for the front landing gear on this plane? Do you think it would hold up better and not bend as easily? From the photos it looks like it should bolt right in and give you some shock absorbency.
Actual functional oleo here... same price... bit.ly/3vwtV94
Might consider this one, rather than the other one... bit.ly/3y8wzU5 (white without functional oleo)
Whole Kit - bit.ly/3kylHXz (white)
Ooops...on second thought...they both have function??? Check it out ;)
Sorry for the slow reply!
I never realized there was a solution because the aircrafts tendency to pitch up with flaps down made sense to me, I just figured it was one of those things pilots deal with and my skill level wasn't high enough to want to deal with it myself
So correcting it, comes with the benefit of being able to slow the plane while still producing lift, without annoying pitch input?
It looks like the 1.2 is bigger and sturdier than the 1.1. What do you think?
100%, it is, in fact, bigger, and it is a LOT more plane, with more features, more robust everything, and yet, I find myself still saying, DANG the 1.1m is a GREAT beginner offering.
Both are good, but the 1.2m is WAY better - no doubt. Price points aren't far enough apart to justify getting the 1.1m, if you're not flying it as your 2nd plane ;)
Good luck, as I know you're always comparing TWO - Good luck, if you have to pick, get the 1.2m (you won't regret it!)
bprc.me/T28 (Same link, both sizes, fyi)
I had signal loss on my Dynam T28 probably do to low battery in my transmitter, sometimes it shows full battery but after checking the batteries with a multimeter it's actually low voltage 😮💨. So I think that's the reason for my crash ,sucks .
Now I'm in the market for a T28 I may get one of these soon .🤔
NOOOOOOOOOO! I'm sorry to hear Rafael!!!
Can I use reverse thrust with a NX6?
Do I have enough channels? Thanks guys! 🤠
On the newer firmware, you can use as low as channel 5 for thrust reversing ;) If you have old, you can update firmware with this little guy - Avian ESC Programmer bit.ly/3FU73lY
You won't have enough channels to do everything on this beauty though...since it's got retracts & flaps & thrust reverse
In no particular order...
1) throttle
2) aileron
3) rudder
4) elevator
5) gear
6) flaps
7) AS3X/SAFE
8) Thrust Reverse
...which is why I keep singing the praises of the NX8.
And I saw this in a rcgroups:
Bottom line: lightly wing loaded planes don't need flaps.
If you're an engineer, then you'll hopefully appreciate my in depth explanations that some others may just be annoyed by ;) LOL
Futaba makes a GREAT radio system, but I'll not be of much assistance, since I don't know their system.

Thanks for all of your great videos, my question is I have the Flight 1.2 version 2 and love it ! If you can is the FMS 1400 new version as much fun and as easy to fly ?
do you find this new one to be faster than the yellow t-28 trojan with the 14.8 volt?
It IS faster, and more amazing!!! 100%
HH should paint the screws in the horizontal stab white
Great video
That would be COOL!!!
What are views vs. the 1.4m .... and the 2.0m?
1.4m from FMS? or THIS one?
1.4m is great, but the 1.2m is a BETTER BNF option, especially if you'll have the 2.0m Carbon Z at some point. The 1.2m has the thrust reverse stock, and BNF makes it work so much easier than what we had to do to the 1.4m, but the 1.4m from FMS is amazing too, but if you end up with TWO, get the 1.2m and then the 2.0m or vice-e-versa...
