Being from Oregon, the Mahonia (Oregon Grape) is our state flower and native here. Love that there is a bit of Oregon in the west of Ireland! I too love winter and this year more than most looking forward to its period of rest and recharging. Recent events have my batteries, physical and mental, drained!!!

My favorite season, dear Colette. By now, I am tired of yard work, especially after this past sweltering hot summer. I did collect some zinnias, which are now drying, and will bring joy once again next year. Beautiful sunset! The light through the trees! When we get fog here it rolls in right off the Atlantic, and there is no seeing through it at all. It envelopes and isolates everything, and in the distance we can hear the buoys and the foghorn from the lighthouse. Quite magical! As long as I don't have to try to drive anywhere!
I come originally from the NE of England where we had tremendous thick fogs on the coast where I lived. I miss them and the local foghorn blaring through the night, now I am in New Zealand, we rarely get a decent fog here in Nelson South Island.

I love winter ; the long dark nights, great for sleeping .I like when it's sundown at 4:30 . I and my boy Jackson get onto our bed , wrap up in soft fluffy throws and unlax . Blessings.

I have my Ash wood stash cut. Yesterday l made pumpkin soup and home-made whole meal bread and butter. So good! Lit the wood burner and snuggled up with my two dogs. Cosy.
We get those fogs as well in Western Oregon, and I love it. It seems like it softens both the air and the sound. Getting dark here earlier as well. Soon my best friend will call me about 4:30 PM upset because she is in her pjs thinking it is time for bed, and we will laugh like a couple of crazy old women! I too, really like this time of year and also preparing for the holidays which I so enjoy. Your videos are so lovely. Just pressed some oak leaves that I picked today.
Autumn this year is spectacular with the colours ~ especially l noted the yellows ~ and have never seen so much yellow in the autumn colours as this year in the U.K.

I love that you attune your body to the seasons. I have recently learnt that the seasonal cycle correlates to our energy and paying attention to this makes you feel aligned with mother nature. The colours at the moment are beautiful. I savour this beauty before the trees go bare. Love the rat proof bird feeder. I have just discovered a rat on my feeder and three tunnels under my shed so trying to sort a rat situation currently which I've never had to do before! It's a bit unnerving. If i feed the birds I only get pugeons and now a rat! Typical. Now i cant feed my pigeons til ive sorted the rat and a rat proof way to feed them.

The colours of the leaves are so beautiful as are those wonderful, bee, life saving flowers. I’m sure you planted those with the bees in mind. Bees are so important to our environment and our survival and are being assailed the world over, for many reasons, so it is a pure blessing when someone speaks up for them, thank you. Australia, where I live, was the last continent to NOT have the varoa mite. We have extremely stringent bio security laws yet l, relatively recently I found out they were discovered in some hives in one of our states. I am somewhat confused as to how they managed to get here. It’s a sad thing for our bees. Anyway, thank you again for another wonderful video and blessings to you and cheeky little Patsy.

The weather has changed in Southern Illinois in the US.Its a lot warrmer.In November we used to get a frost in the mornings.Not any more.
