    Ah great stuff Kris! Brings back nice memories mate :) I mind i walked through the Lost Valley about 6 am-ish and i was strangely paranoid about making noise for some reason. One of they moments i think. Another epic big man! peter.

      Haha, the amount of campers i saw heading up there, i would imagine it would end up feeling like tip toeing through a campsite early in the morning 🤣 Cheers Peter!

    Superb video.
    How long would you say, that it takes, there and back from the car park to the summit please?

    • @Insolation1
      @Insolation1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      On any of these hills plan for the day. I've done them all, I usually arrived around 10/11ish and I'm up and back down in an around 4 to 5 hours. I've also put my fell running shoes and did it under 2 hours. I've done the Ben Nevis hill race in 2.25, coming back down is the hard bit, not going up, that's easy.

      Me and my girlfriend stop to take photos at every opportunity so I think we will add a few hours onto your guidelines 🙂

    That was beautiful! I want your video-making skills. Why is it called The Lost Valley? A second visit to the highlands is long overdue. Cheers, Mari

    • @ScottishMountainGoat
      @ScottishMountainGoat  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Mari! Well it has a couple of names including the hidden valley. I've heard the story with that is the MacDonald clan used to hide their cattle up here from the Campbell clan. I can see why! I wouldn't expect to see a cow up there! 😆 Thanks for watching! Kris.

    • @FunsizedEarthling
      @FunsizedEarthling 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Scottish Mountain Goat yeah, the drone footage made you all look so tiny up on that ridge. Fascinating.. thanks for the info! I’ve just added it to my list. 🤓 Looking forward to watching more of your videos. Cheers, Mari

      It's probably because the town isn't as you imagine it to be. Google maps is probably the best way to see it.

  • @OldSchoolMetalVinyl

    Awesome video. How much time does it take to walk from the bottom of the valley to the viewpoint displayed from 3:13 ?

    • @ScottishMountainGoat
      @ScottishMountainGoat  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Cheers! I reckon i'd give myself about 3 to 3.5 hours going at a leisurely pace. That point is only about 15 minutes walk from the summit Stob Coire Sgreamhach. It's a brilliant walk all the way though!

    • @OldSchoolMetalVinyl
      @OldSchoolMetalVinyl 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ScottishMountainGoat thank you so much for the kindest reply. I have one more question, would you recommend the regular hike to the Lost Valley if it's raining? I'll be visiting Scotland in two weeks and it's raining season in the highlands. Is it still doable?

    • @ScottishMountainGoat
      @ScottishMountainGoat  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@OldSchoolMetalVinyl No problem. Yeah it's still doable in the rain but there is a small river crossing. On a dry day you can use the stepping stones across it but you might get wet feet on a rainy day if the river is high

    How hard or easy is the walk? I have hiked since I did Ben A’an in July 2021

    • @ScottishMountainGoat
      @ScottishMountainGoat  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd say it's a pretty easy one to do in a few hours in summer. Might be a bit riskier in winter with avalanche risk from the surrounding mountains though.

    Makes me sick that my knees are gone, so I'm no longer capable of climbing these hills any longer.
