    The tongue depressor can also be used to splint digits accordingly.

    Inefficient use of space, and most of the items in there are low quality, or mundane, included only to entice buyers with a higher item count number.
    If you're going to build a first aid kit for your vehicle, focus on tools to manage hemorrhaging and airway, and get yourself some training. Having a few band aids on hand is nice, but when you really need a pressure bandage, or tourniquet, a bandaid isn't going to do you a whole lot of good.
    If you live in a place where you experience temperature extremes, whether they be hot or cold, consider outfitting your lights with lithium primary (not rechargeable chemistries). Alkalines are unrealiable, tend to leak, and perform very well in temperature extremes, especially cold weather. Lithium primary cells are expensive, but have a long shelf life, and perform well in adverse conditions.

    If your good with your hands and have access to the right tools here is what you do to make your own:
    Get an old metal jerry can ( can be found in at harbor freight if you want a red one ( or military surplus store comes in green or tan)
    2. get some fasteners while at harbor freight (or what ever)
    3. Grab a metal cutting blade while there
    4. And some weather proofing stuff
    5. Use your circular saw ( or your buddy's) to cut through the can along the seams.
    6. I will leave the rest to you.

    I bought two complex first aid kits on clearance and condensed them a bit. Added more as I needed it, bought stuff from the dollar store.
    Additionally, I keep a Ventolin rescue inhaler, three Epi-pens, and stuff for making splints with me. The meds are prescribed to me by my doctor, so it's not an issue to carry them. God forbid something happens on a trail like a bee sting.

    The small swath in the first aid kit that you weren't sure about looked like Moleskin... Works great for blisters and such...

    You plug the charger to light and use it to charge device by winding for cell phones..Make sure you have a plug for your phone (adapter)

    That would be a great idea to take on a camping trip. And you can mount it on the outside to save space. I want one but don't want to spend the money

      Elian Hasanaga if you put everything in waterproof bags and drill a drain hole or two on the bottom side (depending on how it's mounted) you should have no problem with items getting wet!

    For the idiots in the crowd, he never said it is a trauma pack. If you take even a basic family first aide class at the Red cross he will not need to explain to you what each item is, that is if you listen in the class. For the complete putz that called him a dork, that is Sir Dork to you he is the best dork on youtube and the funniest offroad channel that still has content to learn from. What did you expect him to get his dog and put bandages on it like a kid? or actually was that me? Nice video, doubt I would spend the money on it now but I have seen many people that use and love the packs. Put trail bars or 3 musketeers in the first aide kit and maybe I would think about it.

      While watching this, I was thinking you could probably make your own survival bag with way better (and probably more) stuff for about the same price as this with the mount. I get that the product has a nice design but that's about all it has going for it and even then it's somewhat lacking because it seems like the odd shape of the container is awkward and it's a bit skinny which lessens the utilitarian use for it. Not to mention the fact that if I was going to carry a first aid kit, it would be INSIDE the vehicle rather than outside. Even though the Protopax could be stored inside the vehicle, they're mainly made to be stored on the outside of the vehicle.

  • @toryknotts8026
    @toryknotts8026 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well it could be better, I think the two first aid kits were overkill, one is enough ( the forceps were a nice touch), and the toilet paper was thoughtful. Just remember it is a first aid kit, not a survival or trauma kit. I could see this on tractor or something, just not going off-road. It seemed that they were taking advantage of the " it's related to off roading I must have this, even though I hate mud" type of people ( you know the type, the ones who buy the " designer " outdoor clothing that rips like tissue paper or the parka that's only good to 60°F weather). Might be easier to buy an old jerry can and cut it in half and make your own

    Unless you have kids all you really need is duck tape and a t shirt for an EMERGENCY kit in my opinion but great video

  • @touchnoodleuttergarbage4281
    @touchnoodleuttergarbage4281 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    It’s is a good survival kit but I have to say that it contains really low quality medical supplies! For example: I get that a tongue depressor could be used as a splint ect. I would rather have some sort of medicine, gauze rolls, sutures,instant ice packs,and wound dressings or something other than tiny gauze pads,crappy scissors,plastic band aids, and what is essentially a popsicle stick.

  • @ippolitius
    @ippolitius 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    That is the biggest joke of a first aid kit I've seen in a long time.needs a lot more gause and tape. Some emergency ice packs are useful for the trip home.

  • @tgafire87

    I dunno why you'd want that on the outside when all the stuff can be shoved somewhere inside the car.

    • @JimmyNewCakes
      @JimmyNewCakes 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, not everybody is driving an enclosed car. If you had a UTV/ATV/Sandrail, you'd not have the privilege of being able to store things inside. As well, as a motorcyclist, I face the same issue. Albeit, in my usage scenario, a specialty medical box would be a waste of space on my bike. I have a small medkit with trauma gear that attaches to other bags I already have on my bike; however, if simply just gifted one, it would be nice to make use of for trips where I know I don't need extra fuel, therefor, I'd have a space that I could use for the medkit instead of my Rotopax fuel can.
