Excellent performance for an excellent price. Not reasonable but excellent and smart choice. This is NOT an unnecessary muscled, impractical and ridiculously overpriced Land Rover or Toyota or BMW or VW or any untested Chinese brand. I tested the Dacia Duster not on plain dirt roads but muddy, slippery, and narrow border cliff roads and in every circumstance performed well. Why would I spend 30K+ or 40K+ or 50K+ or more? Nonsense.
I really dont mind hard plastics, especially if carrying dogs or going camping and mud getting everywhere... so hard plastics are an actual bonus over the soft materials that split, tear an dwear very fast.
MG is already forgotten, a total failure in the auto industry. A ridiculous cheap Chinese brand that overshadowed England and Ireland. very bad car. MG has always been a rubbish brand in Europe
This isn’t a critical review. Watch the What Car review comparing the new Dacia Duster with the equivalent MG to see the real plus points and downsides. Dacia still a good car at the price but don’t base your opinion on this review.
there are two reasons why dacia is just better, the first one is the fact you can opt for a 4x4 variant that is super capable off road for what it is, and the second is that dacia is a very consolidated brand... MG isn't there yet... of course that if you only want a car to come and go, pick groceries and the kids from school... the MG is ok... but if you want some kind of adventures, muddy roads, and back roads without good pavement or no pavement at all... the duster is much better option.
Hi Guy, we're a considerably smaller team that of WhatCar?'s so we weren't able to get two cars together for this launch. But Sam does have first hand experience of the new MG ZS (our video review is incoming), so his opinion is directly related to that. He just happens to love Dacia's approach! 😃
Waiting for people to defend the poor 3 star crash results, blaming more stricter testing. This simply has dreadful front adult protection, looks at side impact videos. It caves in like a sardine tin.
What are you even talking about? It does just marginally worse than a brand new Passat, which costs a lot more is has 5 stars. It's absolutely fine for the price. It's safer than 90% of the vehicles on the road.
@@dragosi8980 70% adult protection compared to a normal 90%. This car is known for its poor roof strenght. If you get it upside-down, you are 100% dead and burried. Side accidents are deadly too, while frontal hits may get your ribs inside your lungs, which is a certain death, though you might reach the hospital.
@@costelgigi31 90%? For who? For cars twice the price? Apples and oranges. Compare it to similary priced cars which were tested in 2024. For example the suzuki swift did worse.
is the same platform as the more expensive renault use, the only reason why it gets 3 stars is because of the road assitance features, not because the security of it in case of a crash, 3 years ago this car could be a 4 or even 5 stars.

This is 30K+ 🤣
@@costelgigi31 you can get the tce 4x4 at 25K
@@alexd6766 Of course you can, but nobody will. tijuan compared different cars, but only Dacia sales cars with optional steering wheel.

We agree! It was a good choice on Dacias part

China and the British frustration about the lost car industry are strong out there😂

Much more reliable than a Landrover . £17,000 cheaper too !
What would you spend your £17,000 savings on?
@ a nice weekend classic , a really straight old XJ6
Who said since 2024 it s more important to have a usb port than have an arm rest and a little comfort?

😂 at 6:24.
Like the exterior styling but interior looks far too cheap albeit hard wearing for its target market I guess
We hadn't noticed that... 🤣 And yes, we agree that this interior is going to be hard wearing and so probably perfect for Dacia owner lifestyles.
Bought it four months ago
Congratulations, Alex! Are you loving it?

@@dragosi8980 Nope. for cars in this price range. It is just an issue of 1000 Euro more. 🤣
