The Secret Teachings Of Patanjali Yoga Sutras

  • Patanjali is not the inventor of yoga but rather yoga's most popularly known scribe. What has become known simply as the "Yoga Sutras" (sutra means thread) or the "Yoga Darshana" (the vision of Yoga), is actually a compendium of an ancient pre-existing oral yoga tradition consisting of both practical advice and theoretical context.
The most accepted format of the Yoga Sutras consists of four chapters (called padas) written in the Sanskrit language approximately 2000 years ago in Northern India while utilizing the terminology of the time, i.e., Samkhya philosophical system. The dates ascribed to the Yoga Sutras vary widely from 250 BC to 300 AD.
Patanjali’s ‘Yoga-sutras’ are the first systematic and authoritative presentations of yoga in both its theoretical and practical aspects.
Followed by Patanjali, Vasys’s “Yoga-bhasya” and Vacavpati Mishra’s ‘Tattva-vaisaradi” are the good additions to Yoga philosophy. These two works are treated as commentaries on Yoga-sutras.
The Yoga Philosophy is closely associated with Samkhya philosophy. The Yoga presents a practical path for the realization of the self, whereas the Samkhya emphasizes the attainment of knowledge of self by means of concentration and meditation. Thus, yoga is the practice and Samkhya is its theory.
    Patanjali’s Yoga-Sutras consist of four parts. These are;
    Samadhi pada (Concentration)
    Sadhana pada (Practice)
    Vibhuti Pada (Progressing)
    Kaivalya pada (Liberation)

There's MUCH more to the Yoga Sutras than what is stated in the video. It's a lifelong journey of practice and commitment. If you guys are keen on learning more, I would recommend reading the "The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali by Sri Swami Satchidananda", that's my personal favourite commentary.

      How to enslave Humanity
"In our dream...the people yield themselves with perfect docility to our
molding hand.We shall not try to make these people or any of their
children into philosophers or men of learning or of science. We are not
to raise up from among them authors, orators, poets, or men of letters.
We shall not search for embryo great artists, painters, musicians. Nor will
we cherish even the humbler ambition to raise up from among them
lawyers, doctors, preachers, politicians, statesmen, of whom we now
have ample supply..For the task that we set before ourselves is a very
simple as well as a very beautiful one: to train these people as we find
them for a perfectly ideal life just where they are..an idyllic life under
the skies and within the horizon, however narrow, where they first open
      their eyes."
(The Country School of Tomorrow, Frederick Taylor Gates)
      th-cam.com/video/kyWFpsAnVuI/w-d-xo.html"
Inside an unused well in the Indian Jungle , there were two lame frogs.
They thought that the dark well and the small round blue sky they saw on top was the cosmos. Till one day during unusually heavy rains, the water level of this well came up and both jumped out on to terra firma.
Excited they hopped along till they saw two child animals playing football. Immediately one of the frogs cried that the ball was manufactured by his great grandfather and established ownership over it.
The hopped along and wherever they went they gave cock and bull croaking stories of how their ancestors literally invented, discovered , built and made everything in the jungle.
They were so shrewd and slimy in their approach that very soon even the King lion was made to believe that the deep jungle belonged to these frogs, and lived in psychological subjugation.
Blah Blah -- Every fruit tree was planted by our ancestors, every lake was dug by our ancestors ---- Blah Blah -
These two frogs are the equivalent of German Friedrich Max Muller, and Englishman Thomas Babington Macaulay.
Macaulay under instructions from the Vatican and told Max Muller how to subvert and hijack world history.
In one single master stoke he gave the credit of every ancient Indian vedic work in language, Science, Mathematics , Astronomy etc.to the blonde blue eyed Christian white man.
The white master race had NOT invented or discovered anything till they came to India, other than what they grabbed from the Arabs which also arab learn from India. As soon the immoral white invader came to India they learnt Sanskrit, stole our intellectual rights patented it in their names and destroyed the originals ( or kept it back after injecting POISON into the originals ).
Why should a Master learn the language of a slave ?
Bible considers that the cosmos is a few thousand years old. Western historians have been trying to date Rig Veda to 1500 BC ( instead of 5000 BC ) because as per Bible the creation happened in 4004 BC at 9 AM on 23rd October.
*Naturally you cannot have a book written before the creation of cosmos , right ?*
So they burn all library of world , rewrite world history and prove that before 4004 bc there is nothing happned call it mythology .
Bishop Ussher had declared it as the date of creation. The Holy Bible says that the human race began with Adam and Eve.
      (All nonsense )
      Jesus Was never Exist
      Jesus is fictional character
      Plz see this video....
      th-cam.com/video/QTmZlckcwMY/w-d-xo.html
And Vatican has been pressurising all and sundry to disprove Vedic literature that stated in 5000 BC in writing, that the cosmos is 15 billion years old and that the mind and consciousness has to be factored in. Well the advent of quantum physics has proved Bible and Max Mueller wrong.
Fake history is weapon of white invaders even they hijack all world history to hide there crime over humanity and with fraud history humans blame over each other and quarrel .
Non violent and vegetarian Indian has never attacked any other country till now-- and as a result invaders murdered 90 million Hindus. ,Burn priceless Library and distort Vedic civilization
These vulgar white invaders robbed us blind in 250 years , converting India from the richest on the planet to the poorest. They stole our knowledge and patented it in their names.
WHY DID THEY LEARN OUR LANGUAGE SANSKRIT
WHY DID THEY STEAL PART 2 ( BRAHMANAS ) AND PART 3 ( ARANYAKAS ) OF OUR VEDAS ? ( THESE TWO SECTIONS CONTAINED BASIS OF SCIENCE AND MATH )
Now they want to make fun of our poverty and ignorance?
      Not any more !
These immoral people never expected an Internet age , right ?
They thought they could control the media, the historians and peer reviewed magazines and control everything , right?
      Wrong !

Whole heartedly agreed. One more correction with due humility.
Let's all develop the habit of referring n addressing our gr8 country n civilization as ...."BHARAT" , its citizen ourselves as "BHARATIYAS" & contextually as "BHARATIYA".
This will evolve as the norm gradually when our present political Rastrasevaks officially declare this gr8 nation as A HINDU RASHTRA.
This is ...was....n will always be the BHARAT of our ancestors , the world's oldest n triumphant civilization which has survived infinite invasions & ravages through the ages.

Pratyahara - taking attention inward (easy - observe your breath, sensations in the body, thoughts, emotions), Dharana - one-pointed focus (easy - focus your mind on one thing), Dhayn called in western world meditation (is transcending Dharana, it is not concentration but total letting go while the mind is still), Samadhi - bliss (there are many different types of samadhi, they can happen in a different time in your life. Samadhi cannot be practised but it comes as an effect of Dyana). Jai Gurudev, I bow down to the lotus feet of my Beloved Gurudev.

Which practices work towards liberation? I have listed 8.
    a form of physical yoga.
    a form of meditation.
    a form of breath work.
    self-reflection.
studying and observing with the purpose of self-development
communion with others and being ''valued'' by provding a service or support.
working with a master/yogi/guru/teacher/therapist/psychologist, or someone with experience - friends or family included.
Letting go - becoming effortless of all things personality/ego wise.
I'm aware there are many different types of the above. So, it would only make sense that the right type (meditation, yoga, reflection, subject of study) would reflect where we currently are in our journey. Some people may benfit from a guided mourning meditation, where some may benefit from a vipassana meditation. Some may benefit from the slow yin yoga, some may express anger during a power yoga, some may develop more from critical self-reflection, and some may develop more from compassionate self-reflection.
It depends upon your conditioning and adaptions (or karma in this sense, as patterns of behaviour)
But, most importantly, spending time every day for the above.
Which of my 8 listed activities do you think should be the first priority?
I personally, think if someone can completely let go - and become effortless - they are automatically liberated. They do not need to do anything else. But, only someone with little attachments can do this. So, always, it is subjective and situational - as with everything

Great video! I think it would be awesome if you did a video or even a series on Kundalini Yoga. It would be cool if you described each chakra in detail and had a guide on how to overcome adversities related to each chakra. These videos scratch an itch that I can't get from any other channel.
Also, a video about Carl Jung by you would be illuminating. I appreciate the effort and wisdom you put in your videos. I would like to have a conversation with you about my mystical experiences one day.

Please remember Tat Tvam Asi = That thou art. That being Purusha, the ultimate self. The misuse of the word "self" is not helpful in this video. Self-realization is the knowledge of the Purusha as one's own fundamental essence in an active way, as Purusha. You can know if you will get out of your own way because you are That. It is fact. As for Jung, I recommend The Red Book and the series of essays titled "Modern Man in Search of a Soul."

If you will only taste of the flavors and never enter into the essence by direct attention, then you will not know. Find the school that appeals to you and enter it. Do the practices, don't just learn about them. If you truly want to know.
