It hurts a lot seeing what's happening with Hasbro. They're the perfect fit for the license and they're doing more than Bandai ever did, yet their most recent releases have been so hit or miss...
I think it has to do with sales being poor. They put a lot of money into wave 1. They likely used a pretty good factory. But sales weren't exactly stellar. So they move to a less expensive factory, which also means less quality. Also, some of these are not QC issues, they are planned missing paint apps.
I have to agree. I didn't like the fact that Hasbro not only didn't paint Lord Zedd's Fingers, but also forced us to buy another Lord Zedd Figure, just to get Rita Repulsa, when they could have packaged her with(like powerrangertube said) Rito Revolto, or Master Vile. YES! I appreciate them for actually painting Lord Zedd's Fingers, in the Rita/Zedd 2-pack, but it still irritates me.
@@WiGgYof09 Still, having to re-buy a figure I already have, just to get a new one, doesn't sit well with me. Plus I'm still waiting on a Lighting Collection Eclyptor from In Space and Diabolico from Lightspeed Rescue.
Welcome to Hasbro! I kind of knew this would happen when Hasbro bought over Power Rangers. I have been collecting Transformers for years, and yes, I completely agree with you! Take the 1984 and 1985 Autobot Cars for example, they remade these group of Transformers 4 times. The very first time it took them 9 years (2006 to 2014) to complete the group, but because 9 years is a long time, the aesthetics of the toys kept changing. The second (2015 to 2018), and third (2019) time they did not bother complete the set, and now they are remaking them for the fourth time, so we will have to wait and see...
Fun Fact: I never completed Superion, Bruticus and Constructicon Maximus from the Transformers Energon Toyline, because Hasbro packaged their combiner figures separately. Yet Kenner packaged both Magnaboss and Tripredicus from the Beast Wars Toyline in a complete set, AND the Japanese version of Energon Superion Maximus came packaged in a complete set. What the Hell Hasbro?!
Hasbro is a very hit or miss company. Their transformers figures atleast from Studio Series and Generations are phenomenal with high quality paint apps, weapons, detail, and involved transformations. A leader class is about $5 more than the recent Hasbro Dino Megazord and it makes the megazord look like a McDonald's toy in comparison. The TF team should be making Power Rangers toys.
Their recent Transformers are also smaller and hollower, so even their main stuff is subpar to what they've made before. Nevermind Megazords always going to look more basic by design, and combiners tend to cheap out more than a single figure. Combiner Wars had issues because of this.
Same issues with the current state of transformers right now, some people believe that the reason for the QC problem is that hasbro is moving their factories from China to Vietnam, and as of now they are in still transition period
People were saying hasbro doing the toys would be good, but I was skeptical for a reason. I say that because when I was little, I grew up on Beyblade Metal Fight tops. When the third season (Metal Fury in US, 4D in Japan), they introduced mode changing tops and really fun new tips which were so cool. Hasbro cheaped out and cut all of that out, and they looked incredibly cheap. I actually bought the Japanese ones, which are so much cooler!
Yes. Bandai NEVER cheaped out and cut out modes or just made really cheap crappy versions in comparison to their Japanese counterparts. *sideways glance at pretty much everything Bandai released after Dino Thunder that wasn't Legacy*
Same here. While I'm not expecting S.H. Figuarts level paint jobs and articulation from Hasbro, since that would be asking too much of them, I still expect Hasbro to be passionate enough about all their Brands, to give use good quality products. Using Dino Thunder White as an example, not painting the morpher I can understand, since it's so small, but not painting the Black outline around the Visor, tells me they just don't care. I know I could paint the black outline on myself, since I've made Gunpla, but I'm pretty sure not every PR Fan has the time, money or patience to do that?
I think it comes to the toy quality culture for Hasbro and Bandai(either US or Japan, make your own pick). Hasbro were kid friendly toys(understably) and beefy design visuals to their cover. Bandai on the other hand were meticulous to their toys( whether Japan or International bBandais) details, size(depending to the country's standard but not strayed from Japan's aesthetics) and US Bandai division makes some believable crutches to their PR toys(like in WF Megazord has a aux zord that became a twistable hip that didnt exist in DX Gaoking or some thing).
Paint seems to be getting worse, from reviews ive seen new figures coming with less paint than the previous IE the Zeo 5 figure is missing paint on the sword that zeo Blue has... The new Black rangers morpher looks different to all the others it just doesnt fit.
Zeo 5 has less paint in the Blaster too + no gold paint on the wrists. So summing it up, less paint in the butterfly joint, wrists, blaster and sword. Well, he has his signature weapon instead. I don't know if it is a fair deal, but I prefer Zeo 5 package over Zeo 3 one. Unfortunately, now that makes an uncohesive team.
my biggest issue is where the paint's bad. it's almost always in the most important spots. just got the magna defender and his big green chest plate is way off and there's a big nick in the horns. No one is asking for perfection from a $20-$30 figure, but c'mon, it's right there.
An update about Rocky's Tonphas: apparently Hasbro is releasing them with the single Cog figure coming out. Yeah, you heard that right! Hasbro is making us buy 2 characters, just to complete a weapon set for 1 character! Seriously! What the hell Hasbro?!
As someone who collects Marvel Legends & Transformers, there are a lot of problems with Hasbro, all of them pretty valid. But trust me when I say this, they are a good fit. Power Rangers has been with Hasbro for what a year or two now? When Hasbro first acquired Marvel Legends, they were garbage! But now the Marvel Legends figures are fantastic. I’m not saying that we should wait years for them to get their act together, but we should at least be patient and give them time to understand what works with the figures/ line and what doesn’t. Give them time to listen to fans and to understand the franchise. It will honestly get better, hopefully.
as a transformers collector who knows how hasbro releases can fluctuate, I have two things to tell you. 1. unless your name is starwars your mileage may vary. 2. they are *NOT* going to continue the lightning collection for much longer. you're past the point where the common consumer recognizes the character and will be willing to buy. they trying to sell to kids and parents of kids first, not you, the adult collector. they will start over soon with mighty morphing again, at a different scale with a different design ascetic.
I'm not sure about you all but I definitely love Hasbro's Power Rangers Toys specially the Lightning Collection line which comes with interchangeable head, in my collection I only have the Bandai MEGA FORCE Mighty Morphin Red Ranger, mainly I never buy Bandai Power Rangers Toys is because of the High pricing. I was really shock on how they put the price for the 2017 Power Rangers Movie Toys here in Malaysia at that time, for example the Basic Action Figures were priced at RM99.90 Each which is the price for a Studio Series Transformers figure.
With respect, and I do love your videos, a lot of these seem to boil down to "bandai did this, why not Hasbro?". As a transformers, star wars, and gi joe person a lot of the points you bring up have been just a standard thing to get used to. Hasbro is not perfect by any means. But guys, it isn't bandai, and as much as fans are used to how they did things, trust me, Hasbro understands how to to work their brands. you're going to be okay. Promise.
As a transformers fan myself, I'm still salty about Hasbro packaging their combiner figures separately instead of together. YES! I know, Combiner Wars packaged all 6 constructicons in a boxed set, and that's what I mean! Cause in the past, they didn't do that with Car Robots(aka: Robots in Disguise) Ruination, and Energon Superion, Bruticus and Constructicon Maximus. And because of that, I NEVER Found all the parts to complete the combiners. Yet the Japanese version of Superion had all the parts packaged together.
@@DragoonMS But not the original color scheme. Also, They packaged all 6 Power of the Primes Dinobots separately, and I was lucky to find all 6 at my local Wal-Mart. To give another example, Kenner packaged all 3 figures together for both the Magnaboss and Tripredacus combiner figures.
Your 6th point is too true. I remember Greg from Bandai running through the legacy lines back in the day with such enthusiasm and excitement that you knew that regardless of bad decisions they made to some paint apps, they wanted the line to do well With hasbro, it just feels like they’ve payed people to be like “yeah we love MMPR and you’ll love this too” and not know any past that season I really do miss the legacy line of figures personally. At least their paint apps were no where near as bad as Hasbros.
Bandai stopped being enthused about Power Rangers over 10 years ago. Also, Hasbro has already done more figures from more series than Bandai. Stop with the lies. Unless Bandai magically did Legacy figures for Lost Galaxy and Time Force behind my back, that is. Also, the Legacy line was garbage. The rangers were roided out instead of looking like they do on the show.
They did extremely good with the morpher for beast morphers I think the reason why toys are a bit cheap with the figures is because there trying to make it affordable, let’s be honest there more painted than the Bandai toys were and it’s there first season so I’m sure they will fix the toys by the next season
While I do see your side of this debate, If we can get a good Quintesson Judge Figure from Hasbro, there is absolutely no excuse for under applied paint jobs, or re-buying figures I already have, just to get a new one.
What I would like to see is lightning megazords! This will give an idea to the overall quality and direction of hasbro! Soul of chogokin and Legacy rocked this department, it will be interesting to see Hasbro take on it!
As someone who used to collect both Power Rangers and Transformers toys over the years, when I heard the news of Hasbro getting the rights to Power Rangers my heart sank. Hasbro's QC has been terrible for the past 10 years (especially on their Transformers line), that it almost KO levels of bad. Speaking of Transformers, I kind of knew Hasbro would put very little effort on the zord side of things due to the Megazords are a massive threat to Transformers as a whole. Hasbro could put out an amazing looking Megazord if they really too, but they won't in case it risks clashing with their golden boy Optimus Prime on the toy shelves (notice how outside of the Best-X Megazord and the new Dino Megazord are the only 2 transforming Megazord's we have seen so far, yet their new Zeo and Thunder Megazord's don't ?). While Bandai did massively drop the ball with Power Rangers over the last 14 years, especially during their final years of owning the rights. I much rather have any of their Legacy Megazord than anything Hasbro has put out so far.
My hope for the Zeo weapons is a weapons pack. I know this is what we were all expecting back with Bandai when they failed to have the MMPR weapons with the figures. Instead, they re-released the figures with the weapons and a new metallic paint job. However, I often look at what Hasbro do with their other lines as a possible hint to the future of the Lightning Collection. They released Marvel Legends Hydra and AIM figures for army building. And soon after, we got the Putty 2 pack. They release deluxe/larger figures like Venom and Apocalypse at a $30 price point and there are rumors that they are planning to do the same thing with Power Rangers monsters like King Sphinx and Pumpkin Rapper. And they did recently release a Transformers weapons pack that included weapons and effect pieces. So it is possible. Imagine a Zeo weapons pack that comes with the 5 individual weapons, the combined Zeo Power Blaster and holstered versions of the Pod Sword.
Those are really comments from someone who never dealt with Hasbro before. As a Transformers fan those are so regular and "normal" that we really are used to it. 1) QC: Those are toys, sold mostly to children, not just to collectors. The biggest way hasbro makes money with their distribution is through parents that see a toy on a shelf and give it to the children, often not even considering if children want them or not. Those QC issues are irrelevant for a child but very important for a collector. But it's also what allow those lower prices compared to a collector item. Same reason behind inconsistency between waves. 2) If stuff gets cut from the original pictures it's for money reasons, and you should not see the single figure alone but the wave or sub wave (imagine a box where you find a group of them of the wave), probably that sub-wave costed too much somewhere else, and something had to be cut. 3) double tipping for accessory it's so common in Hasbro product... especially in the past with differences between takara and hasbro, in Transformers for example. You have to take the hit sadly, it's an exploit (sometimes accidental) on the collector fans, not much you can do. 4) America is the primary market for Hasbro. Stuff doesn't sell as well outside America, so normally they don't bring all the waves or stuff outside of it. It's another thing you have to deal with. In addition, american stores exclusive is something else you will have to deal with, when they're going to do walgreen, target and other stores exclusives only in america
Not only not dealing, but thinking the big company name will get everything right out the gate, with show and toyline. This video title is misleading. I'll give some crap for their first year but I've seen changes, like the MMPR megazord, that prove some effort is still here.
(Comment reposted as deleted it was the only way to delete a bad reply) I don't really have an issues with Hasbro as far as the toys are concerned since I haven't been getting any of the Lightning Collection Figures and I am not sure if I ever will, especially with the nitpicks you've mentioned in this video. The only Hasbro-brand toy that I do have for Power Rangers were the new Dinozord toys. The only issues I had was even getting them and how I had to make a couple visits to my local Target to see if they had the new zord toys and I am lucky it only took me a few visits since one Friday I went there and saw there was the Tyrannosaurus Zord pack and the Triceratops and Sabertooth Tiger Zord pack and then when I went there again the following Sunday to see if the Mastodon and Pteradactyl zord pack were out, and while I had my doubts, they were there and I was finally able to complete my Dino Megazord. I do hope they'll also make a Dragonzord and Titanus, but my biggest issues with Hasbro running Power Rangers is what Sentai's they are chosing to adapt. I know some people are sick of me complaining about this, but I feel that it should reflect the opinion of at least 90% of the Power Rangers fandom. I wanted Hasbro to adapt Kyuranger as Season 26, but that didn't happen as we got Go-Busters adapted instead. Then I hoped for Season 28, but Ryusoulger had to come in and ruin everything. Now I'm hoping for Season 30, but recently, there's this rumor that Hasbro may end their partnership with Toei and what's bad is that the person who brought that rumor out has usually been right before which means there's a higher chance of it coming true than there is coming false, but I'm praying at max level to God this rumor turns out to be false because I would never ever forgive Hasbro if they left Kyuranger unadapted since I know for a fact that it deserves to be adapted 100 times more than Ryusoulger does and if Hasbro refuses to adapt Kyuranger, they are basically saying "we don't care about you fans". Personally, if this turns out to be the case, I think we should contact Haim Saban and beg him to buy the brand back because Hasbro is doing more harm to Power Rangers than good.
I would've liked Kyuranger. Nice big team with an unusual theme. DINOSAURS though, wins every time... I think the sentai agreement WILL end because I don't think they represent what Hasbro is going for anymore. I think even Toei know this which is why they've explicitly used the sentai numbers in Zenkaiger on their helmets and gears, which are not equivalent to their Power Rangers values
@@powerrangertube Well, it better still happen because Hasbro would be making the biggest mistake of their lives if they don't adapt Kyuranger! Although I am wondering if the fans are even going to do anything about it given as to how people just don't seem to care what Hasbro does, but I DO care and I DO care if Kyuranger gets adapted. If Kyuranger doesn't get adapted, not only will I write to Hasbro to tell them what a bad company they are, I will also write to Toei and tell them they shouldn't have made Ryusoulger until after Kyuranger was adapted. I would recommend others do the same so Hasbro knows what the fans actual want, but it looks to me like nobody even cares anymore. Remember when everyone wanted Kyuranger adapted? I want that time back!
I see a lot of 3rd party Transformers toys being reviewed by Jobbythehong all the time. Hasbro don't really have a problem with them as long as they don't directly call them Transformers. Maybe we can get some nice 3rd party Megazords tooled in the same way.
When I saw hasbro was making power ranger toys I got excited. I was expecting solid figures like the black series and the marvel figures. The power ranger toys feel like they belong at the dollar store.
I really want more girl figures in the Lightning Collection! Also rereleasing more older Megazords. I know there is the MMPR Megazord in stores now and the Thunder and Zeo Megazords coming but I dont like how those 2 Megazords dont come apart like the original releases.
Strange thing is, Transformers Quality is really good compared to PR... Maybe they fear that PR could cannibalize their TF sales.. which would be ridicolous
When it comes to action figures, Hasbro does a better job with Power Rangers but when it comes to the weapons and morphers for collectors, Bandai did it so much better!
I see it this way and I am scared. With supposed rumors (not confirmed just rumored) about Hasbro wanting to cut Toei and maybe doing everything themselves, they might drop the new season and knowing how MMPR sells better than anything do what they do with Transformers, alternate MMPR universe that is animated/CGI. It cuts needing scenes can just reuse created scenes from their Transformers show and only needing animators, story boards and voice actors (bare minimum, I know more is needed to produce a show). They don't have to worry about getting certain weather conditions, lighting, and set up for shots or having everyone on set to create a scene. But what I see happening to get Rockys Tonfas is them possibly be paired with another Zeo ranger. This is a long shot but I wouldn't mind it. One thing I do hope for (saw a picture on facebook not sure how true it is) is if Hasbro is releasing in the regular Beast Morpher toys a Roxy with the S2 color scheme. I wasn't big on the florescence yellow she had during S1 and preferred the purple in S2 and her Gobusters counterpart.
I bought two lightning collection figures, one was the Zeo 5 Red figure and one was the Zeo 4 Green figure. The Zeo 5’s head came off and I was really careful with it. I had to return it and got the Zeo 4 one instead, the paint on the gun wore off as soon as i started putting it in his hand and back into the holster.
I've been looking for a lightning collection billy I pre-ordered when it was released and my order was canceled due to a factory delay and now I can't find one anywhere. Why aren't they making enough to supply
The declining quality overall is probably my biggest concern, as someone who usually buys Japanese figures for like $40 to $60 dollars more than these cost, I sorta was writing off some of the issues as just because of how much less I was paying. But yeah, I dont want to pay the same for even less as time goes so that's something to look out for.
While that could be a reason for the recent increase, I don’t think that would account for all of the QC. Marvel Legends has had similar issues for years, so it’s not a new development.
@@BBmetalhead04 ahh makes sense I don't really buy figures. I just get statues, and make model kits I know some of the recent statues have been having cq issues dew to them changing factory's dew to covid so I just figure
A lack of accessories in the Lightning collection should have been it's own entire reason. I mean, would it really be so hard to have the Astro Blasters separate into the duel guns? Or a closed version of the Zeo swords for when they're in the holster? I mean, I know these aren't FigureArt level products but for God's sake. (And why don't the Dragon Dagger and Power Morpher have off switches?! Seriously?!) Also, my Zeo red had the paint chip off of all his weapons.
Eh, I have several of the lightning collection figures and I haven't had any of those problems with the neck breaking off. I have seen bad paint apps but I just leave those in the store and just move on. I guess this would be more of a problem if I collected every single thing released.
I actually don't wanna buy Dino Thunder White because of the missing black Paint app around the Visor. The rest of the Figure is fine, it's just the Visor that bugs me.
Have I just been lucky when it comes to paint??? Yeah the morphemes have been kinda off, but the overall paint on the figures suits has been fine! Most problematic thing I experienced was Billy’s glasses missing paint on the lower rim.
Quality control is an issue, right out of the box the elbow on mosa rex snapped. I could not get a hold of hasbro what so ever. My four lightning fightning figures have head issues
As someone who's been a Transformers fan for almost 20 years I can tell you: Yeah, they're kinda like this for everything. It really seemed to start in 2009 with the Transformers Dark of the Moon line because their products were pretty good quality back then. I always heard it was to do with oil prices increasing the cost of plastic, but I don't know how well that actually matches up with reality. It's been a rough going since then but I can tell you they've improved over the last couple of years. They're nowhere near where they once were, but they're getting closer each year.
Great video. I suspect that Rocky's tonfas were pulled because we WILL be getting them at some point in the future with the Zeo team's combined weapon. The reason perhaps that Tommy get's his sword early is because his sword is in a collapsed state when it's part of the team blaster. Maybe Zeo Pink & Yellow are going to be released in a two pack or something with that accessory.
As a beyblade burst fan and having abandon any hasbro beys I just get the Takara tomy beys no joke when I heard hasbro was doing power ranger knowing there awful quaity control my reaction was “ah fuck” cause I felt like they were going to mess them up
Although fixing the problems of the Neo Saban Era in Beast Morphers is a step in the right direction they're still overusing MMPR nostalgia and Go! Go! Power Rangers as the intro, the episode count is still twenty two, they're still adding extra seasons the following year and continuity problems such as being set in the 2020s decade the same decade SPD takes place.
I agree with everything in this video. Getting another Lord Zedd Figure, just to get Rita, is a really dumb marketing decision. Although I do appreciate them painting Lord Zedd's Fingers, unlike the first one. Another thing that pisses me off with Hasbro, is the fact they're packaging the individual Zords separately instead of together. Just like they did with their Transformers Combiner Figures(Ex: Energon Superion, Bruticus, and Constructicon Maximus) YES! I know, Combiner wars gave us a complete set of Constructicons, but still....
Honestly... my *ONLY* major disappointment with Hasbro is not improving the quality (or lack of) of the TV series. Beast Morphers definitely feels in line with the shitty Neo-Saban shows. Throwing in empty fanservice didn't elevate the series from being too geared to the *2-6* year old demo. The Lightning Toys are fine, given their price point and the lack of popularity for Power Rangers.
My LC Shadow Ranger has missing silver paint apps on the helmet and shoulder badges, forearm armour and missing steel blue paint on the knuckles and fingertips of his gloves.
You know? I am tired of the fandom for PR constantly complaining for pretty much everything : / I am not saying its bad to say your complaints But most if not all I feel they just like to hate on Hasbro for the most part ( me being a Transformers Collector and even have a few Marvel Legends ) can notice how PR fans act compared to TF fans, and I am mostly sad that this fandom cannot be as positive or community driven as the Transformers has been for a few years already : /
I absolutely agree with you on this.I been collecting Transformers far longer then collecting Power Rangers. This is my opinion they are hit or miss and plus this is a new line and wish the fandom understand that and plus the way everything is right now it not helping either but.I perfer Hasbro over Bandai anyday especially with figures but some the roleplay items that Bandai did made like the Legacy Dragon Dagger and Power Morpher are pretty well and I love what they did and well I still have Legacy stuff in my collection besides the figures.
I'm glad I wasn't the only who thought this. There are people out there claiming the Hasbro Dino Megazord recently released is the best one compared the original DX and Legacy, not including Soul of Chogokin. The audacity?!?! I have the Hasbro Morpher and Dino Megazord. The Megazord feels very cheap, incomplete paint & sticker application. I could go on...
Bandai USA practically chased me out of PR years ago with their horrid distribution of RPM (not to mention that the Role play toys were like Cracker Jack prize size and quality) followed by the subsequent down-scaling of the MM re-visit to 3 3/4 inches. At that point, collecting them wasn't even fun anymore, and that was after many years of completist collecting. After seeing these issues with Hasbro, I'm glad I quit PR back when I did!
I think something that could also be mentioned, which is connected to that business mentality, is communication. I don’t think people would be as mad right now about these issues if any of the Hasbro reps talked to the consumers to let them know why certain things are happening. Sure, we’d still be annoyed if problems remained but if they would at least attempt to explain it then we could understand what is going on.
If any of you do not collect Marvel Legends, Transformers or anything else that has Hadbro sells pertaining to action figures then you truly do not understand why Hasbro was able to get the Power Rangers license.
BBmetalhead04 gotta disagree man. They are all made for kids. They are sold in the toy section🤷🏼♂️ I mean maybe for both. But targeted age group is for kids
Hasbro is talking about doing away with the sentai approach all together and it is upsetting. No one wants the power rangers to be a cartoon over sentai.
With the Lightning collection's issues with quality control, distribution, and the in my opinion poorly handled Psycho ranger 5 pack, I prefer the basic figures from Beast morphers and I wish there were putting out more figures in that style. They are cheaper, have all the articulation I desire, seem to have a higher standard in qc in my experience, and have a wider variety of villains to choose from.
There QC isn't exactly brilliant on other brands either - but paint that bad is a bit less common on Transformers. They tend to suffer from issues like breaking parts, joints to loose or two tight or error assembly (like two left feet), missing paint applications or misstruct pins or the odd wonkey logo. But I know I am not exactly happy when you can't see the products in the packets properly. For example I bought a Prowl Transformers figure and he only had one side window painted the other was paintless. I guess the more expectation there is that something will look a certain way and the more it isn't something you can fix (like loose joints) the more noticeable it is. I've also heard of some issues with Nerf guns too.
I agree and disagree with your points. I have been an avid collector of hasbro figures for 7 years, currently from hasbro I collect Marvel Legends, G.I. Joes, and Lightning Collection. Factory mishaps do happen across all lines from hasbro and any other action figure line that is a “cheaper” line but I’ve never had any issue getting a replacement and most times depending on what online retailer I use they let me keep the defective one. And the one time I had to reach out to hasbro I returned it, then they sent another and gave me credit as well. So on that front the “defects” though its a hassle it will be resolved in your favor. The paint has been hit or miss, and the unmasked heads need some TLC but they are pretty decent. The only real issue I have is having to paint missed deco and most importantly the rereleases off figures we should not have already gotten another black zeo, goldar, green ranger, zedd, or psycho red and blue. It should have been replaced with gold and silver. I just hope hasbro is able to complete the teams up to SPD at least. With customizing I can see that being my forever display of Rangers.
Great video! Very informative! I'm a Hasbro fan and was happy to see the Power Rangers come over! Hasbro Pulse has been pretty good with listening to fans. Also, the 3 Putties so far each have different numbers of stripes .
I call bullshit on anyone who thinks Lighting Collection figures' body proportion is "realistic". Last I checked normal bodies actually have necks and don't have legs as short as upper bodies. And yes the suits in the shows have wrinkles but never as terrible as these figures. It fact in most of the close up shots the suits are super tight fit, especially in sentai footage.
When I bought the lightning collection morpher I returned maybe less than 2 hours later, just felt a little bit cheap on the morpher itself, another thing the battery compartment didn’t stay closed even after screwing it in, may have just been my copy
Trying to get Lightning Collection in Europe is a pain. Usually you have to buy from UK (zavvi) or Amazon France. And none of them are reliable at all. Amazon FR does not get everything anf id they did, is later. And Zavvi does not get too many. Last month a lot of people got their Z Putty cancelled, and some more from that wave. So, I'm assuming we won't get Sphinx or Pumpkin either.
I am not a power rangers collector. But i do buy pr figures time to time. i am a transformers collector. And I do agree with all of these points. Transformers has the same problems. But there is some benefits like megazords could have joints or cross overs that might happen between transformers and power rangers.
Hasbro helmets are more accurate. Bandai made theirs with adult collector's with big adult heads in mind. Hasbro makes them to be the size you see on screen. Both routes have pros and cons
Uh what? A bad fit? Hasbro has been doing a far better job in a little over a year than Bandai did in 10 years. Not only have they given us fully posseable villains like Rita and Goldar, something Bandai couldn't be bothered to do in 20 years, but Bandai was also stuck on making their ranger figures look like roided out muscle men and never did shit with Lost Galaxy and Time Force in their collector lines. Hell, they didn't even complete the Psycho Rangers for their Legacy line nor the Shogun Megazord. Yes Hasbro's figures are not perfect yet, but it took both Marvel and Star Wars a couple of years to be the masterpieces they are now. Hell, the Star Wars Black Series is even superior to the overpriced Figuarts. Hasbro's Lightning Figures are already superior to the Figuarts ones Bandai did outside of the paint jobs on the helmets and weapons. Hasbro has sculpted the details in the weapons, something Bandai just used paint for, if they did it at all. I haven't had a Hasbro figure have its wrist explode on me like I did with the very first Legacy figure did the moment I opened it from the package. Now for being unpredictable, that's because Power Rangers fans think they are entitled to know what is getting released ahead of time since that is what Bandai catered to. They have to understand Hasbro is not like that and will never work like that. You're not going to have a team completed in 3 waves. I've been buying X-Men Legends for 4 years now and still have yet to acquire a truly complete X-Men team. There's only one figure left to complete the Giant Sized/Claremont/Cockrum team and one figure left to complete the Jim Lee 90s team. They will get there eventually. Just because they haven't released every Time Force ranger now doesn't mean they won't do it. Same with Beast Morphers and Dino Charge. Zedd was rereleased with Rita because people couldn't find Zedd. I never saw him in stores at all. As for Goldar, one, this is the Season 1 version when he didn't have his wings extended, and two, he saved money for Zeo Red to have his sword. One repainted/reissued figure a wave is a fair trade off if the wave is going to include something that made use of tooling budget. You don't have to buy every reissue.
Absolutely agree,I been collecting Transformers far longer then Power Rangers and well Transformers had some issues but they have been pretty good and I mean everything that Hasbro done with all there brands is pretty well.Hasbro is not perfect but they do the best they can since they produce alot of figures.
I agree with everything you said. As a fan of power rangers myself i did have an issue with the lightning collection helmets from hasbro. comparing the helmets from both hasbro and bandai it would seem that as of quality bandai was better. no offense to hasbro but i did have trouble putting on the helmets. i did purchase the white and red ranger helmets from mighty morphin from hasbro and they look good but as i stated before i had trouble closing the helmet around my head. The legacy helmets from bandai were a bit bulky but they had more room inside and were easy to put on.
At 1:47, it's creepy to see a decapitated Trini like that for two reasons. One the actress is dead. Two, little kids might accidentally swallow it. Hasbro has got to go!
I think an issue I have with the Hasbro toyline so far are the joints in the figures, it always feels like I'm gonna break them, and that's never a good sign, that, and, for a lot of the figures, it's kinda difficult to get them to hold their weapons since their hands are normally almost completely closed so you basically have to force them in there, and they can do so much better than that... :/ Hopefully, things will get better with the Hasbro Power Rangers brand in the future, but, we'll see, I am a bit nervous too... :(
My reasons re releases 1 ignoring basic line 2 no original zords not having all zords outWhen they do transformers 3 A being lazy with inconsistent dino charge no dino steel B Lost Galaxy lack of weapons no head sculpt for Mike 4 with even MMPR how do we get stupid monsters that bomb still do instead of noticing villains and allies. 5 lack of villains and allies Rito Vile Finster Trakenna darkonda Circuit Ric Bulk and Skull Ransik Frax
My complaint with hasbro and the lightning collection line is that they gave Zeo Gold Ranger and Beast Morphers Gold proper gold on them but when we got to Dino Charge Gold, they made him the mustard tan ranger that they used for the gold rangers in Dino Charge, Ninja Steel and The Dino team up. Do they not know what color gold is at all.
I don't know what is the quality deference between Bandai and Hesbro but as I watch in TH-cam in pictures...Bandai present a great quality and realistic feel...Hasbro didn't show realistic in quality and I think Hesbro failed to present Power Rangers Toys
At first, the Lightning Collection was just suffering from the paint, but even in that first wave, there was the issue of questionable sculpting choices. While Shadow Ranger got a soft vest, so he wouldn't be hindered, his shoulders are still dropped way too low to look any where near accurate to the suit. Add to that the missing paint from the helmet and other places and no option for a sheathed version for his sword and it's really questionable what all the hype was about. Moving forward into the line, helmet sculpts have become terrible, or worse then before. The MMPR Red helmet, specifically the visor, but just overall the helmet doesn't look good at all and nowhere near what the MMPR red helmet is supposed to look like. In addition to that, Dino Thunder White's armor is sculpted incorrectly as the black lines are raised over his shoulder on the toy, but stop halfway on the actual suit. It's just...bad. But, all of these, the worse the line gets, keep getting shifted to "nitpicking" and getting disregarded and the fanbase just keeps consuming mediocre to bad product.
Bro, Welcome to Hasbro... Ive been collecting their Marvel Legends for 10 or more years now. Paint apps, inconsistencies, weird looking bodies, re releases with 2packs, etc are all part of it. Eventually you just get used to it. So if you want Hasbro to REALLY listen, then dont buy them... But they know youre gonna buy them anyway......so
Not buying them won't really affect Hasbro, since they have other brands like Board games, My Little Pony, Star Wars, and Transformers to keep them afloat.
@@nine_tails137 Sure, but the point about not buying the PR products is that once people start complaining with their wallets, they will start to fix the issues. We know Hasbro thrived WELL before they acquired power rangers, but with PR, its a HUGE brand thats mostly getting its sales from toys, and since they own the brand and licensing, they have to do something with it --sale toys, etc. And a significant portion of those PR sales come from older fans, which is why they put out so much MMPR stuff. Now hasbro has proven that they can listen to their consumers and fix things. But we still have to be vocal 'financially' about these things for us to be heard.
@@BUDOKAIultimate3 This is true. I mean, I don't wanna buy Dino Thunder White Ranger, due to the lack of Black lining around the Visor. Even though I could paint the Black lining on myself with Gunpla Paints/markers. But I get the feeling Hasbro won't re-release that figure with a better paint app, unless we're REALLY lucky?
@@nine_tails137 Glad you mentioned that, because here is where the point of Hasbro listening to us pops up. If you did buy that DT White, you can send them your proof of purchase and they will send out a corrected Headsculpt with the proper paint apps for free! Many have begun to recieve theirs in the mail.
@@BUDOKAIultimate3 I actually saw Dino Thunder White at my local EB Games, but I didn't buy it due to the missing Black Paint on the Visor. So IDK what I should do in this situation? Buy it, then contact Hasbro about a new Head piece? or leave it and wait for a potential re-release?
I only buy my favorite characters in the power rangers line Lord Zedd Trey of Triforia Zeo Gold Astronema Magna Defender SPD Omega Ranger Doggie Kruger And that's it
Oh yes, I totally miss bodybuilder Rangers, happy meal quality Morphers, Megazords with no articulation and toy distribution that is centered around North America and UK at best.
Hasbro usually takes a while to ramp up new products QC as they work out the best way to do it though all of 2020 hasbro had major issues on QC, somehow I think the pandemic hit them hard and then they rushed everything. I hope things get better
I think we can say this aged like fine wine 🍷
🤣🤪🥲
yuuup
@@nine_tails137 they were never going to package Rita with a brand new mold of a minor character. Also, Rita is guaranteed to get a single release.

Combiner Wars had issues because of this.
personally I like the new megazord. it looks good for children.
Same issues with the current state of transformers right now, some people believe that the reason for the QC problem is that hasbro is moving their factories from China to Vietnam, and as of now they are in still transition period
Yeah, for some reason the Power Rangers toys aren't Show accurate while the Japanese Sentai Versions are. It just makes a big disconnect.
Yeah, we need people similar to the Marvel Legends team, for the Lightning Collection.
Paint seems to be getting worse, from reviews ive seen new figures coming with less paint than the previous IE the Zeo 5 figure is missing paint on the sword that zeo Blue has... The new Black rangers morpher looks different to all the others it just doesnt fit.
You're right! Black rangers morpher looks awful on the new regular figure and doesn't match Jason, Billy, Kimberly or Trini!
@@powerrangertube ^
@@matheuslara1670 oh yes sword paint is lacking even on the same line have seen a few different shades of the gold too
my biggest issue is where the paint's bad. it's almost always in the most important spots. just got the magna defender and his big green chest plate is way off and there's a big nick in the horns.
The transformer fans can tell ya the exact same complaints. QC is is the top 10 as well.
I agree COMPLETELY. You pretty much got my thoughts down to a T.
i mean for me it was sad to see bandai go but hasbro seems like they would be good.
as a transformers collector who knows how hasbro releases can fluctuate, I have two things to tell you.
1. unless your name is starwars your mileage may vary.
2. they are *NOT* going to continue the lightning collection for much longer. you're past the point where the common consumer recognizes the character and will be willing to buy. they trying to sell to kids and parents of kids first, not you, the adult collector. they will start over soon with mighty morphing again, at a different scale with a different design ascetic.
Promise.
I hope so
Creating toys for years and didnt even improve, that is one big problem. But people still support ot anyway.
@@nine_tails137 But they did do repaints of Energon Superion & Bruticus, and put them in box sets for Revenge of the Fallen.
That Caveman Rocky figure looks hilariously bad.
no more old figures
Hobo-Habilis Rocky
Your 6th point is too true. I remember Greg from Bandai running through the legacy lines back in the day with such enthusiasm and excitement that you knew that regardless of bad decisions they made to some paint apps, they wanted the line to do well
With hasbro, it just feels like they’ve payed people to be like “yeah we love MMPR and you’ll love this too” and not know any past that season
I really do miss the legacy line of figures personally.
Your not buying toys anymore, your buying a premium blind box with a chance at a halfway decent figure.
I'm surprised that the Beast X King Megazord never got a toy yet.
I've been saying that, too!
And I'm still waiting to see any of the robot zords in stores.
And sadly I don’t think it ever will....
On the plus side, I'm making whoever sells Gundam markers a bloody mint.
Those markers are saving so many figures
I much rather have any of their Legacy Megazord than anything Hasbro has put out so far.
really surprised the Lightning Collection didn't start with the full Beast Morphers team, I would buy Roxy.
(Comment reposted as deleted it was the only way to delete a bad reply)
I don't really have an issues with Hasbro as far as the toys are concerned since I haven't been getting any of the Lightning Collection Figures and I am not sure if I ever will, especially with the nitpicks you've mentioned in this video.
Never thought I’d say this but, I miss Bandai!

Were you not around for the Black Series when they first came out?
I really want more girl figures in the Lightning Collection! Also rereleasing more older Megazords. I know there is the MMPR Megazord in stores now and the Thunder and Zeo Megazords coming but I dont like how those 2 Megazords dont come apart like the original releases.
I personally prefer Transforming Megazords. aka: ones that can separate into the 3-5 individual Zords, and link up with other Zord-builder components.
Do think covid-19 might be a reason of the lack of quality control
Seriously?!)
Also, my Zeo red had the paint chip off of all his weapons.
My figures have been perfectly fine, except with my lord drakkon where his wrist broke out of nowhere.
I'd be happy with that. I don't see hasbro doing a double female pack ever. Maybe green and yellow and then pink separately?
I know, Combiner wars gave us a complete set of Constructicons, but still....
im so confused on the release of these toys ?
Honestly... my *ONLY* major disappointment with Hasbro is not improving the quality (or lack of) of the TV series. Beast Morphers definitely feels in line with the shitty Neo-Saban shows. Throwing in empty fanservice didn't elevate the series from being too geared to the *2-6* year old demo. The Lightning Toys are fine, given their price point and the lack of popularity for Power Rangers.
Thats the demographic power rangers is for exactly those ages.
@@raymondluna6303 It certainly has been during the NICK era. From a writing standpoint.
@@Knightfall182 I'm sure Disney era or even 90's rangers had Eisner winning writing.
@@raymondluna6303 No need for hyperbole, but Space-RPM definitely had writing that aimed for a wider family audience.
My LC Shadow Ranger has missing silver paint apps on the helmet and shoulder badges, forearm armour and missing steel blue paint on the knuckles and fingertips of his gloves.
You know?
I am tired of the fandom for PR constantly complaining for pretty much everything : /
I am not saying its bad to say your complaints
But most if not all I feel they just like to hate on Hasbro for the most part ( me being a Transformers Collector and even have a few Marvel Legends ) can notice how PR fans act compared to TF fans, and I am mostly sad that this fandom cannot be as positive or community driven as the Transformers has been for a few years already : /
Honestly that figure is something I could see using as a base for a custom budget SOC. Fill in the hollow parts, tighten joints, paint, etc.
I have a question Bandai company Power Rangers Dino Thunder series Toys are still available in Toy stores...if available Where????
Bandai USA practically chased me out of PR years ago with their horrid distribution of RPM (not to mention that the Role play toys were like Cracker Jack prize size and quality) followed by the subsequent down-scaling of the MM re-visit to 3 3/4 inches. At that point, collecting them wasn't even fun anymore, and that was after many years of completist collecting. After seeing these issues with Hasbro, I'm glad I quit PR back when I did!
My biggest problem is they are slow to complete Teams, and Silver Ranger sold out in 2 minutes before I even got it my cart!
I think something that could also be mentioned, which is connected to that business mentality, is communication. I don’t think people would be as mad right now about these issues if any of the Hasbro reps talked to the consumers to let them know why certain things are happening. Sure, we’d still be annoyed if problems remained but if they would at least attempt to explain it then we could understand what is going on.
bruh the inconsistent team up thing pisses me off.
If any of you do not collect Marvel Legends, Transformers or anything else that has Hadbro sells pertaining to action figures then you truly do not understand why Hasbro was able to get the Power Rangers license.
You’ll realize they are $20 figures for kids lol they look 100x better and smoother than the legacy collection
But the Lightning Collection isn’t meant for kids, it’s for older collectors. The Basic toyline is.
BBmetalhead04 gotta disagree man. They are all made for kids. They are sold in the toy section🤷🏼♂️ I mean maybe for both. But targeted age group is for kids
BBmetalhead04 and they are $20 can’t complain to much. If you want better buy the sh figuarts figures. Better figures equal higher price points
Hasbro is talking about doing away with the sentai approach all together and it is upsetting. No one wants the power rangers to be a cartoon over sentai.
too bad and you must read the comics
It bugs me that my first team of Power Rangers, where I watched their season live, is part of these inconsistencies.
Quality Control is exactly why I won’t buy them online.
It's a fair point. The females look strange and too...abstract sometimes too. I guess they are closer to realistic than legacy, we can give them that
When I bought the lightning collection morpher I returned maybe less than 2 hours later, just felt a little bit cheap on the morpher itself, another thing the battery compartment didn’t stay closed even after screwing it in, may have just been my copy
Dude definitely sounds like a defect. Apparently they're reduced to clear in US Walmarts now if you feel like another attempt
The 12" Zeo Megazord that doesn't seperate into 5 zords is COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS BY IT'S PRICE POINT, $80
What's up with these new Megazords looking like complete garbage when combined??
par for the course with hasbro. first they're pissing off the MTG community, now they're pissing off the power rangers community.
I am not a power rangers collector. But i do buy pr figures time to time. i am a transformers collector. And I do agree with all of these points. Transformers has the same problems.
But there is some benefits like megazords could have joints or cross overs that might happen between transformers and power rangers.
Bandai makes better 1:1 scale collector series replicas like the morphers and weapons. But Hasbro made the better helmets IMO.
Completely agree. The Hasbro helmets are basically designed to fit children.
(But are then sold to adults)
Hasbro better make Dino Fury set in an alternate universe to avoid contradictions with SPD.
My lightning collection white ranger helmet arrived with a scuffed/scratched visor. Heartbroken
Shout losing the rights to Super Sentai is a big reason for me.
Shout! didn't lose the rights to Super Sentai at all.
It Forces Shout to Promote Kamen Rider.
I wonder if jason has master morpher and he can morph to the red and gold ranger
I don't know what is the quality deference between Bandai and Hesbro but as I watch in TH-cam in pictures...Bandai present a great quality and realistic feel...Hasbro didn't show realistic in quality and I think Hesbro failed to present Power Rangers Toys
in all honesty the worst part is that hasbro has done all of this and worse with Marvel and Star Wars for years before picking up Power Rangers.
They have the same issues with marvel legends and star wars black series
But unlike lightning collection,ML and SWBS have improved through recent years
Well yeah, give lightning collection a few years
I find it funny that the same company can put more quality effort into the star wars black series.
But, all of these, the worse the line gets, keep getting shifted to "nitpicking" and getting disregarded and the fanbase just keeps consuming mediocre to bad product.
the QC, the cheap plastic used and the frequent re-releases within just one and a half year really is what keep me from collecting the line faithfully
@@nine_tails137
Sure, but the point about not buying the PR products is that once people start complaining with their wallets, they will start to fix the issues.
@@nine_tails137
Glad you mentioned that, because here is where the point of Hasbro listening to us pops up.
Buy it, then contact Hasbro about a new Head piece? or leave it and wait for a potential re-release?
love your videos! always looking forward to the next one!
I only buy my favorite characters in the power rangers line
Lord Zedd
Trey of Triforia Zeo Gold
Astronema
Magna Defender
SPD Omega Ranger
Doggie Kruger
And that's it
Oh yes, I totally miss bodybuilder Rangers, happy meal quality Morphers, Megazords with no articulation and toy distribution that is centered around North America and UK at best.
Lesser of two evils.
Hasbro usually takes a while to ramp up new products QC as they work out the best way to do it though all of 2020 hasbro had major issues on QC, somehow I think the pandemic hit them hard and then they rushed everything. I hope things get better
I hope you're right. The pandemic might make some sense but they've been messing up since wave 2 which was August 2019
I noticed a lot of figures were leaked first before they're even announced or they're at stores but still weren't even announced which is so weird.
Where is the best place to get the mighty morphin power rangers white ranger and green ranger morpher?
Ebay! Or wait for hasbro to inevitably do it
