    That’s Boom Boom. 😊. Great video with some interesting observations. Looks like artist were just referencing other artists with those examples presented versus photo reference.

    Thank you! Though the inking I did on it was a day before the challenge. Done with a Pentel office pen then a ink marker. Might need to get some new supplies for coloring and inking lol. I nearly ran out of ink when I did the buildings.

      Lol, yeah that was a lot of black. You can always use some of that thin A4 typing paper and do a pencil layer over it (DIY lightbox is quick to make with a picture frame or something transparent) So kind of a pencil-ink version. Like what a penciller would give an inker.

      @ True, but I was mostly working without a lightbox or stuff like that. I do most of my art from sketchbooks and occasional digital art.
      Although anything else to mention about the artwork?

      @@Otis_. Sure. Always good to experiment. The muscle structure looks solid, just the trunks detail I would have covered over the right quad as well, so having the bent quad have some of the trunks on it as well (even if it's in shadow, just the hint of it perhaps)

    Action poses are super fun. Perspective can be challenging. I wonder if it would help to plot out the perspective of the figures while still in planning with the fixed line method (a physical string and safety pin to show where your points disappear toward). I hope that makes sense! 😅

    • @retrosuperheroart2202
      @retrosuperheroart2202  3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Sure, that would be useful. Like planning the drawing starting from that Jim Lee triangle. Making the figure structure a bunch of cubes and cylinders helps with that, especially the dramatic perspectives. I've see the string technique, and they have special rulers with suction cups to place on your desk as well. (though I usually just eyeball drop some perspective lines)

    Very cool. I tried to draw this pose recently and messed it up.
    This video is a big help. I just subscribed. Good tips.

    Awesome a very informative and handy video on legs Also, thanks for the color and hatching tips I really want to take those to heart especially if I really wanna make those characters pop out and make it feel like something out of an actual comic book. Plus, I really felt like that Wolverine and Colossus I did had instances of McFarlane, Capullo , Finch, and Bart Sears and I really would like to do another challenge although this time I think I’ll use actually like actual pencils to help me out before I ink and color it on my computer

      My pleasure! Yeah, if you're used to pen and paper doing everything digitally can be a bit weird. There's no substitute for command-z in the inking though ;-)

      @@retrosuperheroart2202 yeah well for me I feel like when doing comic book art digitally it’s better to use it for ink and color and AnyWho I would like to do another challenge when you’re ready

    You're wrong. That Boomer pose could hide her calf and foot.

    • @retrosuperheroart2202
      @retrosuperheroart2202  3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I think I said it does, just that its an 8% chance that it does. So in this case it hides the foot. Kind of like taking a picture of a man holding a large flower pot walking behind somebody and then the picture being taken just as the flowers pop out from behind the front guys head. It happened, but it was an odd timing to take the picture. So I believe in this boomer case, it looks accurate, but any other picture angle ,or any other timing would have looked better.

      Oh wow, thanks for the idea! Yes, I made one for the 100 artist challenge (How to draw like DRAGON BALL Z - Retro Challenge). It takes a bit longer than a day to make a video, so I won't be able to make one for the anniversary.. But check that one out of you can, I drew some X-Men in the style of Toriyama, my video Manga CITY POP KING - Study and Drawing Challenge of EGUCHI HISASHI , has a Bulma drawing thats a nice homage as well.

      If it helps anyone the layout of the leg muscles is actually analogous to the layout of the arm muscles....triceps=quads, biceps=hamstrings, ulnar crest=shaft of tibia,etc.
