I married a Filipina in 1995. I met her, spent a week and a half together. She applied for the fiance' visa and six months later she was here and we married shortly after. I am now 68 and she is 56 Y/O. 12 year difference. We have two daughters. She was a virgin when I married her at 30 Y/O. I am the only man she has ever known. We are very happy. Our daughters are the joy of our lives. I am looking forward to her taking care of me in my golden years. I appreciate her more than ever before. We re till in love. And I am a very happy man. @@jk-califkid5017 sorry but you have no idea what you are talking about. All marriages are a set of ideals. I have a 26 year gap with my wife who happens to be filipina. We have been together for a decade and our kids are amazing. Yes, there are scammers but percentage wise to say a California girl? The California girl is much more likely to be after that cash, not the filipina. These girls do not want someone their same age because they hate the games younger guys play. I agree with them. Others are for someone their age, just like in the USA or anywhere else on the planet. The differences when you find an amazing filipina? LOYALTY, dedication to family unlike anything you know, NO GREED, happiness in just being a family is truly special..... These girls, for the most part are amazing and the best possible mate you could have. Me? Was broken from American girls that had motives. My filipina? World traveler, Flight attendant for Qatar Air, had more money than I ever will and is completely loyal to me. Love is a great thing and age plays zero in that role.

Great to hear of another successful marriageb/relationship . I myself am currently in a long-distance relationship for over three years now with a Filipina. We are 20 years and three months apart in age. I am 65 and she is almost 45. We’ve been waiting on this K-1 visa process for over six months now . Hoping there is not going to be a government shut down as this will truly delay things even longer. By the way, I retired as a flight attendant back in 2001. Is your wife still a flight attendant? Have there been any difficulties with other men ? Thanksattempting to seduce your wife away from you?

Depends entirely on the Filipina. My ex was all about the money and reinforced the stereotype that Filipinas only want a trip to the big PX. If I ended up sick, her only concern was when I'd be back to work and bringing in the overtime pay. During one layoff period, she even brought me divorce papers. She just brought the blank documents (she didn't understand that everything had to be filled out and filed) and tipped her hand that all she was interested in was the bank account. This was after we'd gone through a year's worth of communication and all the expense to bring her and her daughter over here. It wasn't until about four years into the relationship that she even noticed what color my eyes were.
In hindsight, I either didn't ask the right questions or I heard only what I wanted to hear, or maybe she knew what the right answers were to get on my good side. If you're considering marrying *anyone* from anywhere else, get the answers you need before you commit. Don't think with your heart (or some other organ), but use your head.

      @neutrino78x 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

True, but I would also say, what were you thinking in going to a 3rd world country. You wanted to exploit a younger woman who would see you as high value because of the exchange rate. These were not good intentions.
Like I've said to others....a real man wants a partner on equal footing. Getting someone desperate for a better life is essentially clogging them on the head with a club and taking them into your cave.
What you're supposed to do is find someone who is your equal and likes you back, not because you're the only choice, but because she chooses you from among many possible choices. And you're supposed to convince her every day that you're still the right one.

Yeah but you know, I place the fault on the original poster (somerandombaldguy). He went over there with bad intentions.
Look, the bottom line here is, as men -- and YES, I'm a man -- we're supposed to want an equal partner.
We all agree that the ancient way, going up to a woman and clubbing her on the head and dragging her into the cave, is morally wrong, correct???
Well, going to to a 3rd world country because you "can't find a woman in the USA", which really means "my life sucks, I suck, and no women in the USA are impressed, therefore I went to a 3rd world country where the exchange rate would make me look rich and therefore I would have power over her", is the modern equivalent.
We're not supposed to want to have power over women, we're not supposed to want someone who never stands up for herself AND doesn't talk back to us, etc.
Huge power differences in a relationship are wrong! Real men don't want that.

As a citizen of the Philippines, this content is ironically true and relevant, most Filipinos along with a Filipinas have this traditional mindset so called opportunism and nepotism, that is if opportunity comes from a fortunate people in the likes influential politicians, wealthy businessmen to high classed foreigners(like expats)like its a chance to grab some prestige and fortune from these kinds of people, it's a belief that one's social living will uplift to its best. Filipinos have this long time mentality of being opportunistic in any manner even in the expense of clinging and dragging down others just for an advantage. Most Filipinas will choose to marry foreigners than local men just for the purpose of lifetime support and a great social standing in return for companionship...

They have to go back to their home country to work. Retired guys get a government pension and many have money saved over the last 2-2.5 decades.

What it comes down to is a cultural difference. In the PI, it is all about the family and supporting each other so everyone survives. If she marries an older expat, they will be expected to pitch in to the family if he is perceived to bring in more money. She offers her youth and beauty and in return he offers financial support. As long as he understands going in, what the expectations are, no one cares as long as he stays in her country. If he brings her to his country, he will be viewed very negatively and takes the risk she will get “Westernized.”

She has more money than I ever will and her family are farmers with a great income themselves. They expect nothing and ask for nothing. They are happy she found love and family. I agree with thus video. If considering Marrying a phillipina please do your research and even spend some time just visiting the philippines making friends. Out of every county I have visited most in the philippines speak good English. It boils down to what your goals are in the end. I would also like to mention that even though the philippines is modernizing most live on incomes less than $600 a month and take bucket showers and squat over toilets, so moving to America is like Disneyland. I am moving to philippines because most prefer to be home and family is #1. This is my main reason for wanting to move to philippines. Traditional family values and the desire for family to succeed. Age doesn't matter if you are healthy and decent in appearance and a plus in the long run. Too big of an age difference and out of shape is risky, however love is love and if you choose wisely based on simular values and shared interest you will be happy. Life is a constant learning curve but as long a you respect cross cultures and values its a win win...I hope I provided useful information and always seek to pay it forward for a better place for everyone.

I'm a Canadian citizen who lived in Athens Greece during the 70's and 80's. I worked at the Canadian Embassy for a few years in my early 30's. Back then, any Greek who was considered even remotely affluent had a Filipina house maid....including the Canadian Ambassador. I hooked up with The Ambassador's Filipina house maid which allowed me access to a large Filipina community. I found them to be very warm, sincere, friendly and fun loving. They'd all get together on their days off. There was always a party at someone's apartment. They'd throw the most amazing parties. Lots of food (pot luck style), music, dancing and laughs. They're HUGE music lovers. Pretty much all of them were indeed sending money back home to support family.
I ended up dating three Pina's in the space of two years. As a consequence, I picked up a reasonable amount of their language. The breakups were always initiated by me as I was unfortunately very immature and irresponsible back then. Not meaning to stereotype, having done a lot of international travelling, it was a well known fact that in every country I visited, many guys I met whom local girls wouldn't look twice at (regardless of age, and/or physical condition) had traveled to the Philippines and came back with beautiful young Filipinas...which appeared to be at least half their age. Sadly it's true that at least in the cases that I witnessed, it was for financial security.

I think a part two video would be nice to delve more into red flags, communication problems, family pressure problems, and more age gap problems. I think this video might also be relevant with women from other countries like Vietnam and Thailand marrying older westerners. I married a Vietnamese woman 10 years younger and we ended up getting divorced after 10 years. I am not sure if she really loved me or used me or a little of both. Marriage is difficult under the best of circumstances and when you add in language differences, age and maturity differences, religious differences, cultural differences and money then it can be daunting. That said, I am still open to doing it again BUT I am less naive now and more careful. My biggest advice is make sure your communication as a couple is great, otherwise misunderstandings and problems will grow and fester.

I have a strong opinion here. Yes, it is for money, it is not love. If a Filipina had opportunity for income through self work or marry a good Filipino man in her country, this 'age gap' situation with a western man would even not exist. Look at it another way. If a western man really cared, he would simply look for a Filipina woman closer to his age...and I wonder why that does not happen often? Yes, it is for sex and her beauty and age. So it is money for sex long term. Here is the real problem: 1st she is their children's caregiver, and then she moves into his caregiver...it is not a good situation. Age gap 10 to 15 OK, this 30 to 40 is way too much.

Apparently, even when a husband dies young, there's no shortage of men in the US that would love to date and marry a good woman. There must be a reputation of Filipina women being great wives.
In fact, I know of a case of a very fat and homely Filipina who was already middle age. Her husband died and I was surprised that she was remarried not so long after. Yes, she met a great guy within a few months of dating. I guess they are very happy, after she was left broke and homeless by the first husband. Now everything is great.
She did have one major super power. When she opened her mouth to speak, the softest and most gentle voice came out of her. She was so very kind and innocent. It was like you're speaking directly to an angel.

As an Asian individual, I can see how you would find it difficult to date in America. American women do not typically go for Asian men because (typically) women like men significantly taller and larger than they are. Additionally, westernized women prefer a very HIGH STATUS man and Asians are not VIEWED as high status in the west. Until I turned fifty, for example, living in America I dated many women significantly younger than me because I was tall and had a very socially upwardly mobile occupation. Even in my mid forties I was still able to date twenty year old women as well as older women my age and older. After fifty, the entire game changed even though I was still in GREAT physical shape. and had a great job.
    But, here is the rub...
Women prefer ABOVE ALL THINGS - MONEY. Women (sadly) are to be purchased. They always were and always have been. You want the pretty girl?? SHOW ME THE MONEY - they say. I've seen very "unattractive" men dating very beautiful women all because they were wealthy. That's the true bottom line. Do other things count? Well, somewhat. But is Leonardo DiCaprio THAT attractive with his middle aged paunch? Nope. So, why does he get the DDG's (Drop Dead Gorgeous) girls?? Because he is well known and loaded. So, place someone in THAT situation verses mine, and HE is always going to win no matter how I look.
Bottom line: SEARCH: '4M' and see what you come up with.

@@djperryboy Certainly not. You are correct PRIMARILY because WOMEN ARE NEVER SATISFIED. I had a girlfriend of mine tell me once, "Women ONLY want what they cannot get. If they CAN get it - or end up getting it, they no longer want it." While another girlfriend of mine stated, "Men would get a lot more if they would hold out for more and give less."
These are all very telling quotes from very beautiful women who played the field often.
Consider the situation with Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady. She had it ALL with the most desirable man of our times. Yet, she threw it all away for something that would never last. Even Tom wasn't 'good enough'. No man EVER is.

@@Jubal.Harshaw I just feel that Asian women are better wives and more reliable in general. Filipinas are just easier for an American guy to relate to and communicate with. Plus there's compatibility with religion. I have not experience the never satisfied problem. I've heard about it but its not in my experience. Our sone is also married to a Filipina and I have to say that she's stellar. We did everything the right way, got the advanced degree, went to church, lived right and the benefits accumulate. I can't deny my own experience and I do wish it for other but not as a big age gap but as compatible matches.

Filipinas seemed to admire my blue eyes and personality on such a serious level that I have never experienced in the UK with western women.
I am 38 and bald/white/average shape… If I knew how they were going to treat me I would have gone there a lot sooner and never dated white western women ever again.
It’s certainly not about the common myths of green card or gold digger.. They are very easy to find out too.. Most are genuinely nice and really very attracted to mature white men..
Blue eyes will literally have you dating A list celebrities in the Philippines if you are clean, well groomed, well mannered and well dressed… Filipinas are Conservatives.. They don’t like vulgar bad boy type men with no respect for others..
Nice guys finish first in the Philippines.

Ah, age gaps. Well, Mother Nature and all the Gods clearly smile approvingly on such unions, and even bless them. How do we know? Nature has given men the ability to father children into their 70s, and even beyond. But she limits women from that ability beyond around the age of 40. Nature has also arranged it that older men seldom like women closer to their own ages. But nature has provided that many a younger lady likes men who are substantially older than they are. It may look as if it's all about money. But women naturally want mature men who can financially support the wife and kids, and who are no longer playing around.
And nature doesn't prevent love from developing between those of different ages. Nothing new under the sun❤️❤️

I don't understand the huge concern if a foreign woman is interested in finance, that seem more and more prevalent every year any where. I mean we see tons of Western woman doing the same to a extravagant amount. seems like most of the woman in the Philippines just want a lot less. instead of Prada bags they want a more low middle class income which translates to a higher income in their county. Woman want security and safety in every culture.
