Only been here for 2 months in Bohol, loving the place and people. Met a wonderful women in church.Very shy, we talk on Facebook messenger every night for hours, even though I can walk to her house in 2. minutes. That has made her a lot less shy speaking English in front of me when we do meet everyday. She asked me if I would have a courtship with her in front of her family. When I do I earn her respect and the love of her family. Highly recommend doing that and meeting someone in church.
Good afternoon mike just following up with my health and stuff in 2 years here at 67 years old. At home I had high blood pressure 3 medications with insulin. Neuralathy. Degenerative disk. Chronic pIn. After 2 years. I've lost 40 lbs. No more blood pressure meds.Diabetes medication cut in half. No cholesterol problems. Great blood tests. I credit this to Philippines diet. Fresh fruit and veggies every day. No soda. Very little drinking. Great video Mike! Always enjoyable. BTW. I heard the other day you had another Charles out here. I'm CharlesF from San Carlos Negros Occidental. God Bless you 3!
✅egans are peaceful. GorilIas they don’t eat meat, and they are peaceful. Chimp eat monkeys, and meat eaters have wars and fighting, because the microbes are different. Be ✅egan ✅❤️💪😬🍠🥬🍉🍊...
Just don't eat at Jolibee 😂. In all seriousness though many people throw shade at the Filipino food here. Truth is much of it is junk and awful for your health. Like anywhere in world if you stick to low sugar and healthy organic foods you will get better outcomes. If you're an old guy here be sure to keep health checks always
Best TH-cam I ever seen about the Philippines and I been watching for over 4 years ... we are the same age and almost the exact story with me and been here for over a year and married now... we are truly blessed...

Greetings from Panama. I am now close to 5 years in Panama, what should be normally a 5 month vacation. Right. Came to Panama after I was invited by friends. November 2019 flight Edmonton Alberta to Panama City. Pandemic started and I was stranded for 2 years in Panama. Wasn’t allowed to fly back home. Anyway. Like you said. Try out nice and warm countries for the retirement living. After my last online request for my return flight was again denied, I just had enough from Canada. Sold everything and just enjoyed Panama. Originally from Germany, I would have never dreamed of sitting every day under Palm trees and enjoying a cold beer. Even started last year in June to build my own house here. There is no hurry in finishing it. I just enjoy doing it. Coming home before it gets too hot outside and enjoying dinner with my girlfriend. Difference how you met your Janet, I did find my lady on the street. Old style. Enjoy your life!
Congratulation on being in the Philippines for 2 years and great story concerning how you met Janet ! You knew right away she was the right one for you and things turned out very well. Thanks for the videos / advices you provide, Take care !!!
I’m very happy for you Mike. It’s great to know there are these options internationally, which you’ve transitioned to well. You described so accurately the stresses of living in the US, it’s especially difficult now with the divisive political situation as appalling as it is. I’ve traveled to 53 countries and I do like the Philippines. I think Filipino people are some of the happiest, friendliest, and most unselfish, attractive and loving people I’ve met. Best to you and Janet!
Mike- Youve been a natural at communicating to us great info, those of us who are in that same routine US situation of HBP, alone, etc. Your story is therefore a godsend to us close to retirement seeking the benifits you describe. Your vlogs made it practical for me to do a couple recon visits and stay at your recommended Sierra Resort which turned out a great value and location. And you were kind enough to meet me in person. So far your videos, presentations and looks have improved so much in the last year and a half. Your better health and happiness shows each time. Solid balanced serious info w a smile and in a down to earth way we understand and relate to. paced and organized for those of us older guys to get an accurate picture of life there. Visiting proved to verify what you are talking about, pros and cons. Gio is good, old dog entertaining, but you ad a real life practical example of how good life can be there if it fits your aspirations. Thanks for the great help, please keep up the good work and sharing. wishing your Best success and hope to see you again next time, John.
Mike, this is a great review of your two-year journey in the Philippines. I've been watching your videos this year. I'm glad to hear life is good with you in my birthplace. I look forward to watching more videos and enjoying your continued success. Keep up the Faith and Fire. God Bless.
Truly a pleasure being a subscriber to your page. I’m planning to make the move. I have somewhat of a history there having first visited at 24 years old. Regards
Great video, Mike. Thank you for the financial update, as well. Knowing that you're doing well living under $2000 per month is extremely helpful. I''m 53 now working toward my hopeful retirement in SE Asia and hope to pull the trigger at 60-62 if I can swing it. Love your channel and look forward to seeing more of your videos.
Hi Mike just watching this on TH-cam on tv love hearing about your experiences I lost my wife to cancer last year and been unhappy with no one to talk to started drinking too much nothing else to do but get from behind these 4 walls been listening to youtube videos about the Philippines heard about some apps downloaded one paid the £14 and found a beautiful lady 31 years old no children very shy we are already talking about marriage and children, I have just booked a month long holiday and flight to Davao City Toril I feel so good since I met this wonderful girl and can't wait to make her my wife and just had my 66th birthday thanks so much Mike to you and all that make these videos and change people like me lives
Good for you buddy I'm so glad you have a life partner and have better health and love. May the Creator bless you for the rest of your life on this rock....
@@mikesphilippineretirement I just did and commented on it. As you may or may not remember, I'm not in a position to leave Belgium at the moment because of the care for my mother. If I ever do get the chance to move to the Philippines, I will be going to Ormoc, because that's where all my friends are. Still, I always watch your rental videos, just to keep up to date on the rental market, which is only just a little bit more expensive in Dumaguete than in Ormoc.
Hi Mike enjoyed the video of your two year journey. Yes you accomplished your goal of being a better person. You are a good guy and you do help other people. I know you helped me. As far as TH-cam I remember when you had the budget videos and you showed what you bought and the price. So I have been a long time subscriber. You now have self confidence in your blogging you can see that. You help people with there transition to the Philippines. You have a great future to look forward too. Just think if you did not take the big step of coming to the Philippines where you would be today.
Hi Mike. I've been watching your videos for the past several months, and you do strike me as relaxed and happy. I'm planning to make my own boot-on-the-ground exploration of the Phils sometime soon. When I do, when I get down to Negros, I'll reach out again and perhaps we can meet up for a coffee and chill. Keep up the good work!
Thomas here from Canada , wow arrived on my birthday and reflecting 2 yrs later on my birthday , keep her going and God Bless, hope to meet up later this year at the age of 61 my final destiny of retirement.
Congrats on 2 years in the Philippines. The Philippines has a good way of leaving all those troubles of the west behind. The west is all hustle and bustle and the slower pace of here is better. Thanks for another video Mike.
Slow pace in Dumaguete. You must be kidding. That place is a cesspool. 134,000 people. Who knows how many motorcycles and not one traffic light in the entire city. Garbage on the streets. I just got back from 3 weeks there. I didn’t see one city worker doing anything in Dumaguete. If there are building codes they are certainly not enforced. Shoddy looking condos and other buildings going up just anywhere there is space to put them. I married a Filipina there in 1987. We have lived in the United States since then and we will continue to live here. Dumaguete is not fit for a human being to live in. The pollution from all of those vehicles is horrible. My last trip going there.
So happy for you Mike and I’m glad I found your channel. I was in the Philippines for a month mid-January to mid-February and loved every minute. I will be retiring later this year and will be going back.
Very good video Mike congratulations. Your living the dream. The two years you have done very good for yourself and Janet. Blessings to both you and Janet. I been a subscriber to your channel for sometime as well as a Member. Your videos are always uplifying, inspiring. God put you there at the right time and place in your life. Keep up the good work, putting out the videos. Stay healthy, safe. Oh, one thing being 70 now days is the new 50. 😊Thanks for all you and Janet does for your viewers, subscribers. Thank you for sharing. God Bless. 😊 🙏 👏 👍
Getting everything lined up, imm 65 and planning to move there as well. Hopefully by the end of 2024. I have watched your blogs many times. great ad ice. Thank you.
Great video. Mike, I am so grateful for your opinions and openness about you life in the Philippines. No BS, no exaggeration, very transparent.. Between you Vlogs and Paul's, the Old Dog, your information has very much inspired me to consider, and eventually decide that this is where I needed to be. Long story short, I have met and married a Filipina. Later this year, we will settle in her home town outside of Daet in Bicol. Her town is a charming, quiet, beautiful, and well equipped to handle the rain drainage. I am so blessed in that her family is awesome. Her son is well mannered and quite positive in his life outlook. In June, we will travel back for her son's high school graduation. We have much to do, but a gig part of this travel is to get my wife's name change completed. As you are now well aware, the red tape and always changing requirements, can be very daunting. But we will get it handled, one bite at a time. (like eating an elephant). All this to say, I hope that we can take a side trip to Dumaguete and sit down with at least you and Janet, because of your inspiration for me. Buy you a meal, and maybe even get Paul and Mae to come along. Again, I appreciate all your "real" advise. Honest, no hyperbole. Much thanks.
I’ve been watching you for almost a year, Mike. I watched your evolution when you and Janet were getting closer, and I can definitely see how much calmer and self-assured you are now 👍 I’m so happy that Christine and I can consider you and Janet friends! ❤️ I’ve been here 60 days, with 30 to go, and I can’t believe how time has flown, but how much better I already feel 🥳🌴 When I return, permanently this summer, I know that the Philippines will change me for the better!
Mike, great video from the heart. Your story telling has improved. This video is at the level of something the Old Dog would put out. (In my mind that is a huge compliment)
Thanks a lot for your video Mike. I am in the transition for moving to Philippines. When you recorded the video I was there. I´ll be for a second time and a longer period of six months. All the question you asked yourself were also in my mind. I have at the moment only the experience of two months there and was positive, I did´nt want to return to my country. I share with you the same purposes and the same needs regarding starting a new life. Has been very useful, encouraging and interesting for me to have been able to listen to you. Thanks again for sharing your personal experiences.
Another great video, Mike. I’m happy that you’re maintaining your health. You’re good health. Stay healthy for your entire life because I want to meet you when I get there brother 😎✌🏽

Mike, this video was exactly what I needed! The outline of your personal life in the states is very similar to how I currently feel. I have had a few medical hurdles to get over and have cleared those up. I've been to dumegete 2 years ago and your story has motivated me to return soon. Thank you! Looking forward to the opportunity to meet and thank you personally for all the good videos and information you share!
Great to view your positive biennial update Mike. You are a great example of a Philippines success story in all respects and I’m happy to have shared some of those happy and relaxed Bo’s Coffee (where I am of course sitting as I type this) moments with you and Janet. Love conquers all ❤
Hi Mike enjoyed your video and so good to see you fulfilled with your life there. My plan was to retire in the Philippines but after 5 years together with Lynn from Ormoc, we now live in Australia for the last year. It's not the location but the caring and loving nature of Filipinos that makes the difference. Couldn't be happier. Never felt so loved!
Well spoken advice im looking for peace of mind leaving this fast pace of life for philippines 2 more years and will be packing up have a great day the 2 of you maybe fate we shall meet great video thank you so much

Thank you Paul
Great video Mike. Happy so much has worked out great for you. The Philippines is a great place to be.
Yes indeed! Thanks John

Just think if you did not take the big step of coming to the Philippines where you would be today.
thank you Tom
Sure Mike you look good for yourself you look better then I first saw you keep it up mate have a good day.

Keep up the good work!
see you soon

You're welcome!
Congrats on 2 years in the Philippines. The Philippines has a good way of leaving all those troubles of the west behind. The west is all hustle and bustle and the slower pace of here is better. Thanks for another video Mike.
welcome
@@Hary1470 hahaha Glad to see your such a positive person.
So happy for you Mike and I’m glad I found your channel. I was in the Philippines for a month mid-January to mid-February and loved every minute.

Thanks so much
Great video. Much thanks.
thanks for sharing
I’ve been watching you for almost a year, Mike. I watched your evolution when you and Janet were getting closer, and I can definitely see how much calmer and self-assured you are now 👍 I’m so happy that Christine and I can consider you and Janet friends! ❤️
I’ve been here 60 days, with 30 to go, and I can’t believe how time has flown, but how much better I already feel 🥳🌴 When I return, permanently this summer, I know that the Philippines will change me for the better!
i agree. enjoy your life with Christine
Congratulations
I am looking for the same thing again congratulations
Thank you so much 😀
Thanks for your authenticity Mike!
Always!
Hi Mike I've watched your vlogs for probably almost a year and you truly seem happier now. I'm so very happy for you! God bless
Mike, great video from the heart. Your story telling has improved. This video is at the level of something the Old Dog would put out. (In my mind that is a huge compliment)
Wow, thanks

Glad you enjoyed it
Great video Mike - thank you for sharing,
You are very welcome
Thanks a lot for your video Mike. I am in the transition for moving to Philippines. When you recorded the video I was there. I´ll be for a second time and a longer period of six months. All the question you asked yourself were also in my mind. I have at the moment only the experience of two months there and was positive, I did´nt want to return to my country. I share with you the same purposes and the same needs regarding starting a new life. Has been very useful, encouraging and interesting for me to have been able to listen to you. Thanks again for sharing your personal experiences.
.. You're a Good-Man .. Isa Kang Mabuting Tao .. 🙏😇😎
thank you
Another great video, Mike. I’m happy that you’re maintaining your health. You’re good health. Stay healthy for your entire life because I want to meet you when I get there brother 😎✌🏽
Thanks Mike
My Family Is In Dumaguette City "I've Been On That Blvd Where You Filmed This Video!! Gorgeous Place! Love It And Miss It!! Cheer's To You!! Enjoy Your Stress Free Life!!
So cool!
Mike, this video was exactly what I needed! The outline of your personal life in the states is very similar to how I currently feel. I have had a few medical hurdles to get over and have cleared those up. I've been to dumegete 2 years ago and your story has motivated me to return soon. Thank you! Looking forward to the opportunity to meet and thank you personally for all the good videos and information you share!
thank you George
Great to view your positive biennial update Mike. You are a great example of a Philippines success story in all respects and I’m happy to have shared some of those happy and relaxed Bo’s Coffee (where I am of course sitting as I type this) moments with you and Janet.
Love conquers all ❤
I will be at Bo's on Sunday morning
Cool I am just leaving for Mactan Newtown for the weekend now, but will be back at Bo’s on Monday morning after my 10 AM dental appointment.
Never felt so loved!
glad to hear that
what a great story... I Wish you all the Best Mike.. 🙂🙂
Thanks so much!
