The title undersells the interview. It covers a lot of ground - "identifying as an artist" vs "working as an artist", learning and creative process and how the surface of drawing pin-ups and guns and cars connects to fundamentals.
Without watching the video. Yes. Considering the low, low standards of what can be considered art. Especially modern art. NSFW artists; while a good chunk draw simple, crude doodles with little technical skill, even more show both passion, talent and hard work within their craft. Genuinely, some of the best artists I’ve seen are either actively producing or have produced nsfw content, just look at the plethora of JP and KR artists that have done both. Plenty of JP doujin artists have transferred their skill set into the actual manga world, Nanashi being a famous example. So yeah, NSFW artists are artists.
NSFW is and isnt art. For the most part the NSFW art that most people associate from illustration is porn related/made and cratered towards men. Art that happens to be NSFW or contains NSFW elements is made for the purpose of being art. There is overlap between the two but the intent is very different wich leaves the former feeling less valuable or valid compared to the latter, even if the technical skill is very high
Erotic art is art even in its most extreme forms, but taking someone elses IP and corrupt it is not, original erotic artist have all my respect but those who latch themselves to popular IPs to gain notoriety are nothing but leeches that disrespect the franchises and their true fans. And what's worse, it is impossible to control all access to the internet of children, most of the NSFW art are parodies of popular franchises that are for all ages, so when they look online for stuff about the games/series they like, they find this kind of "art". Erotic artists that create parodies of franchises not exclusive for adults are responsible of this problem, of course they will do all kinds of mental gymnastics to avoid responsibility but as the creators of that content, they are to blame. My advise is for them to create original characters and stories, you know, like real artists do.
@@PutineluAlin I don't know why tf you felt the need to make me aware of the existence of this movie, but by watching the trailer, all I can say is: Why wasn't I informed of this earlier? Looks like a must watch.
Honestly dumb premise, asking that is a bad faith question. Sex and sexual depictions are a human thing. Hope no one see this video, no watching it. Damn how dumb.
I dont think he'd interview Reiq if he had such a negative opinion of the medium and I feel like its a good thing to be asking this on a channel so associated with sfw, presentable art
You posted within minutes of the video going up. Clearly, didn't even watch and consider the content before hate posting this comment. That seems to be in bad faith and dumb.
@ thank you, that context is appreciated. The questions is still a bad faith, i think there are more useful questions in regards to design, illustration, or art in general as it relates to our lives. I appreciate your positivity and understanding.

Calm down bro. That's this the title. The video is supportive of the NSFW

@@everett_arce_brushwork9657 It's a bad title, I agree.
