It will always stay absurd to me that we can just go online and get to listen in to the thoughts and views of inspirational people such as Patrick.
Thanks so much for recording this and making it available to us. These talks are so valuable to me.

'when I was in the navy, I was haunted by the fact that years were taken away, and I wasn't painting. when I'm painting, I don't feel that. So I know this is what I want to do.'
couldn't agree more, well said Mr. Jones.

I really love Mr. Jones' open mindedness and his thought processes. I'd love another interview like you did with Mr. Weistling

Always fantastic to hear more from Patrick! One of the biggest influences on getting me back into drawing and starting my channel to share the adventure with others.
Your discussion about the happiness of the cleaner women is a very important point to remember both for creatives and really everyone: freedom is a personal responsibility. Patrick's father like the other businessmen were stressed by the need to keep their businesses going but they could also in effect "make work" with their own skillset. Whereas the cleaners, if they lost their jobs, could they be found again as easily? It feeds towards the point Patrick made about how Instagram has pulled the rug from under artists. Any time you're overly reliant on another entity to be a crucial connection in your life/business, that's a possible failure point. If a person is relying on there to always be industry jobs in animation, concept art, etc. there's the possibility those jobs as we know them just disappear one day. Similarly, no one social media or other website can be counted on to always be a reliable lifeline connecting us to customers and fans. Much as we wish we could all just "be artists" and let other people worry about the money, it's important to stay well rounded. As Bruce Lee said, "Be Water."

Love the interview, Patrick is my favourite. You’re in Australia?! We love a sketchy van down here…. Are you staying for long?

@ oh thank god. Make sure you check in with some Aussies before you go wandering off down here.
We can help you plan accordingly 😜
Start around Patrick’s place and drive all the way to Perth. Will you cut through the middle or take the nullabor? Top end perhaps? And you have to show us the journey too because most Aussies don’t have a spare few weeks just to drive around. Plus, we have to keep an eye on the tourists.

Actually, Rockwell didn't drink at all - you should always make sure your facts are correct.

My mistake, I thought I had read that somewhere. I think it is true that he didn’t have an ideal home life.
I still love him as an artist. I brought him up because he is so iconic and influential but had to sacrifice to get there
