I have one and I LOOOOVE IT!!! I have camped with it and made burgers, eggs, bacon, sausage patties, hash browns, French toast, quesedillas, and the best part: the clean up! (or lack thereof; amazing!) Buy the egg fry rings. They're perfect!
Bought one and the ease of cleanup while camping is amazing vs say a griddle top on a stove. The surface is awesome and immediately replaces all previous ways of cooking. Was skeptical at first because of people commenting on the surface and glad i didn't listen to them.
True statements . We were also skeptical with the non stick , but it surely didn’t disappoint. We really have no use for our old blackstone as of now and will see how the surface holds up over time. Good luck with your new grill and hopefully some great camping trips to come. Thanks for the great comment !
I have the 14” with side burner and love it , been using it at home to try out before we take it camping . Cooked enough smash burgers for 6 adults no problem and clean up was a breeze !
Love ours with the side burner, was going to get the 20” but thinking about it , it replaced us having to pack and set up two things. Was carrying an old 2 burner Coleman that uses different fuels but never really used but one of the burner unless we were doing breakfast and coffee, and a 22” adventure that was heavy, took up way more space and a bit over kill for us . We normally only have 3-8 people camping, and the 14” I feel has enough space to do what we need. Especially since cooking is usually so fast on these things.
I'm torn between which of these new camping Blackstones to get. I want the sides burner one but afraid it'll be too small. Do you feel you will outgrow it or does or do the job. I'm looking use for me at times and also my family of 4 at times.
@@elford_hwmf I’ve fed 4 people on it , but it may depend on what your cooking I’ve done burgers , hotdogs, steak, chicken I was fine feeding 4 people when my friend has came over. I sometimes did have to use the burner with a pan or skillet to cook the sides with but that’s what it’s there for. It’s only 3 of us the majority of the time so packing a bigger unit for the occasional 5-6 isn’t worth it to me personally. The 22” on the go we had and Coleman 2 burner was way more to pack and set up. I hardly ever used more then one burner on it and the griddle only used about 1/2 of it. This is much less to and way easier to clean up. Haven’t really had to yet , but if I did I wouldn’t mind rethinking some of my meal choices if I needed to, the trade off long term is worth it to me.
Just used mine for the first time on a 4 day camping trip. It totally replaces my camp stove. I will say it is my second one. The first one was damaged. QA doesnt seem too good on these. The second was perfect and kept us fed on our trip. The utensils were available in store next to the griddle. I got the inserts for the oil trap as well. Why do you say not to use spray? I mostly used oil.
That’s interesting to know regarding the issues you had with the first one. Glad you were able to get the utensils in store as people were asking where to get them as they weren’t available online. As for the spray oils like PAM. These products have Lecithin in them. In the manual it states that this item can degrade the surface. So best to use oil and butter to keep the surface in tip top shape. Good luck with you new Blackstone !!
This camp model is easily half the weight of a traditional 2 burner Blackstone. Very suitable for your situation. Good luck on your camping adventures.
Appreciate the great feedback. As far as propane goes , doesn’t seem to use anymore than my regular blackstone did. Haven’t had to refill my tanks and we are 7 cooks in so far.
I would recommend lightly marinading the short ribs don’t go to heavy on the marinade. Adding the sauce at the end and shutting the fire would minimize the burning too when cooking with soy sauce and sugary things.
Great points , we knew it was going to most likely burn a bit . Really just wanting to see how the blackstone responded to what we threw at it. Our traditional blackstone you really have to watch even more and the stick and burn is way worse than on this new blackstone. Thanks for the great comment.
We think so far it’s going to be good. Really depends on how much you might use it (my opinion). I’m f you are camping with it and using it strictly for that I would assume it’s going to last for years to come., just as long as you take care of the surface (no using spray oils like PAM). The 22 with the hood will be extensively heavier and harder to be mobile with. We really like the clean ability with this new surface and has done really well with what we have thrown at it so far. If the 22 with the hood is 50 more expensive, I would recommend the 20 camp griddle over that.
I bought one and it would not light. I had to take the griddle off and use a camping lighter that you can use to start up A campfire with. The ignition didn't create enough spark to light the burners.
That stinks . I would maybe reach out to Blackstone and see what they can do for you. Definitely should be lighting and having to put the grill back on after lighting would be a bit tricky.
I have the similar problem. Worked for first 3-4 cooks. Now when I light it with the griddle in place, when it ignites, it flares up like an explosion. I reached out to customer service and they told me to check the igniter placement. I adjusted it an same problem. I then went to Wal-Mart and brought another one and same issue. If I take the griddle off, it works fine, no issues. That defeats the purpose and friendliness of the device. I just want it to ignite like it did originally and without me having to remove the griddle. Support offered to send me a new igniter but if the new one from Wal-Mart is doing the same, something is wrong.
I was skeptical about the non stick surface but after 3 -1 week camping trips with the ease of cleanup- I am sold. In fact I am contemplating buying another for the house. Flat tops clearly have there place and the no stick is awesome. The spatula's will probably last a year of so but I am good with that. Now I do still use the Traeger ranger for smoking on the road. At the house I use a primo for big smokes. for quick flat top cooking for small groups you cant beat it. never use the spray crap just butter or oil. BANG!
That’s great you are getting good results it’s this new blackstone. We agree that the spatula is a weak link. Have been thinking about a portable smoker for our camping trips as well. Thanks for the great comment on your experience!
Really hard decisions. With the 22 vs the new 20”. Right now I would lean to the new 20 as the non stick surface is insane , easier compatibility and half the weight. I think both these grills are around the same price as well. So not a lot of advantages for the old 22” by our eyes. We really aren’t missing the extra 2 inches of cook space. Great questions and let us know if you need anymore information.
I have the 22 cast iron and while it cooks really well and is great for camping it has a couple of issues. First is that it is heavy to take camping. Not a big deal if you are relatively strong but something to consider. Second is that it tends to run hot so I have had to find a way to put a heat diffuser over the burners which works ok but kind of annoying that even on low the griddle gets very hot without it. I do not have that issue with my 36" blackstone which I love. So I say get the 20 and if it cooks to you liking then the weight savings is worth it. I do worry that aluminum just won't be as nice as cast iron for griddling though.
Please fix that static noise in the video i had AirPods in and had to skip the video because of the background noise. Will try and watch it later without AirPods if i don’t forget.
What do you think about the new Blackstone? Do you have one ? Are you getting one ?
not sure why they replaced the best part of the blackstone with chemical nonstick aluminum
I wpuld only purchase a cast iron instead of this chemical laced grill.
I hope Camp Chef is watching cause I we would buy one of these if it was carbon steel or cast iron.
does not ignite

That’s good to know you can do that many burgers on the smaller version. Love that easy clean up. Good luck with your new Blackstone !!
that is my inner struggle haha, with or without the side burner

@@UniqueAdventurez Thanks!
Purchased! Thanks for the heads up!
Thanks for checking out the videos. Hopefully you enjoy your new griddle . I’m t will be amazing !!
Looking to get this griddle and get rid of the heavy griddle. We have just having a problem finding it but looks like it may be good for us

Looking to buy one of those Blackstone griddles . But I wonder do they use alot of propane . I enjoy yalls videos

Do you think this will last in the long term? Thinking about getting this to add to my charcoal grill options in my backyard.
I ink his will have some longevity from what we have thrown at it so far. Really depends also on how it’s cared for as well.
I’m torn between this one and the 22” on the go with the Hood. Maybe a $50.00 difference by me. How do you think the non stick surface will hold up?

Saw that spatula set at Home Depot
Good to know . Hopefully stock with the spatulas are getting better. Thanks for the comment.

I purchased the 5 piece griddle spatula package at our local Walmart on April 3, 2024 for $19.97 👍
Nice score. Hopefully they are more readily available now.
My grandpa cooked like this. He would say "burn that shit" Haha
Awesome , love it !!! A little more done than we wanted , but it still was really good. Thanks for the great comment and laugh !
I did a tomahawk on mine.
Yeeessss !!!!! I bet it was amazing !! Looking forward to splurging on a tomahawk streak one day !!
No stick whatsoever!👍
Can’t believe how well this Blackstone works, the surface is unreal.
Looks yummy
Done a bit more than we would have liked, but that non stick surface is sooo good !! Thanks for checking out the video !
I can’t decide between this or the 22”

It's TEFLON coated.........
And work really well !!
Smash burgers please!
We have this video recorded for this request and will be coming out in the next week or so. Turned out really good !!

Might have been my wireless mic setup. Will have to check on they as I didn’t hear anything during the edit. Hopefully it’s better without the AirPods
