    Different body types expressing the same basic ideas leads to almost endless variety of expression and then into formalised styles. All with a shared heritage and later cross pollination.
    It's a joy to watch the understanding between teacher and student here, your student's skill is a credit to you and him.

    • @DanteBasili

      Che bello Robert! Ti esprimi bene in italiano.

    Hello. I really like Okinawan Kobudo and the interiors of their Dojo. But I myself believed that, due to fragmentary information, only Minghe and Hu Zong took root in Okinawa, in Bunkai and also the basic one for beginners, Lohan. All this was mixed in different proportions from style to style. And with the arrival of the samurai of the Shimazu clan, who had not taken root at the Tokugawa court, to the archipelago, such masters as Matsumura began to study the clan’s sword art. Hence the reverent attitude of the Okinawans towards a straight back and the sacred attitude towards simple basic kata, as in kenjutsu, while in China they were constantly improved to wave-shaped shenfa, not counting sanzhang. But after your demonstration, I thought that probably everything is in Okinawan kata, just heavily encrypted.

    the parts of Goijushiho shown here are from the Dai version there is also a Sho version of this Kata which differs greatly, the common part are the triple hands with in Nukite and Shuto, i´m into Karate for nearly 40 years, bunkai (analysis) may give you some insights to applications but is actually quite beside to original idea of the creators who made these for their students to memorize and explore with explanations and a two person drillset, i learned way more about Karate while doing FMA for 25 years

    How interesting, and such a coincidence. I was thinking of this kata only last night, shotokan version in karate. The hand movement after the three spear strikes is flowing clouds. It reminds me of the cloud hands in Tai chi. Could this be borrowed and put into this kata

    In pratica
    stili Giapponesi=Potenza
    stili Cinesi=Controllo
