Consider yourself BLESSED that you have that kind of infrastructure to ride on that outstanding bike without worrying for your life on urban or suburban roads like we do in Toronto.
I’ve ridden both and I’d echo comments by Michael Matthews: the S5 is a damn impressive bike, and... yep, better than what you already like. Keep us in the loop if you decide to upgrade, let us know how you think the two compare.
Great review great style, loving it. Now just looking for more content. If i could choose, would you mind comparing S5 vs System 6 and possibly System 6 vs Super Six Evo? Thank you and looking forward to more content :)
Very good review ...... Thanks! Im considering this bike with Ultegra Di2 spec. Can you give any comments/ feedback on how comfortable for long rides and also hill climbing out of saddle...any good?
ridemedia Rob I’m in marketing so I get the importance of flagship product and as you can see I’m a Cervélo lover. I’d be keen to see your thoughts on this vs the new S3. This kind of money is becoming beyond the pail for most of us with a couple of degrees, a good white collar job and a family, other than Doctors and top flight executives. Not your fault mate but it would bare comparing. The S3 would be more the the kind of cash any husband/ family man could ‘negotiate’ to spend. Granted the S5 isn’t aimed at that market but you get what I mean. >$9,999 rings alarm bells for the vast majority of amateurs and though we lust after this new S5, over coffee we all agree, it’s almost impossible to justify the cash. Will you reviewing the S3 and in your experience, does this S5 feel like a $15,000 super bike and would you be game to race it?
Love your shoes! I just got an S2 a month ago and by fuck , after a month i can honestly say it's 10 times better than anything ive had before. Its so fast im smashing records all over Dublin and im hardly trying! Just wow
My question too. My current R5 is light, stiff and climbs great. I love the new S5, looks sexy as hell, but my favourite ride (Gatineau Park, Quebec) is all about hills. I'd consider the S5 as my next bike if it was as good on the hills as on the flats. Btw, this was the best bike review I've ever seen.
It's growing on me. Of course, after a full year on one bike - after 20 years of MANY bikes - it takes a while to adjust. What is striking is just how fast it is; quite simply, it gets up to speed a lot quicker than my Focus. Yes, I like it. And yes, I too would worry about every little mark it acquired. (Pleased to say, it has not yet acquired any marks.)
With all due respect...if i dropped $14k on a bike (or anything of that value) i wouldn't want to say "it's growing on me". I'd want to be in love with it.
DanTuber - this is true. Dan, riding expensive bikes is not new to me; I’m conservative with my commentary... but the reality is: it’s lovely looking, super fast, full of tech, light, efficient, smooth... etc. (It is not mine, it’s a review bike.)

FACTS
Yeah. I'm also from Toronto btw! I mean you're overreacting, the one thing I don't like is that we don't have hills, all flat.
And that it's cold
i love my 2012 S5. I couldn’t imagine this 2019 being that much better. Bravo to Cervelo for taking it up a notch and thanks for the great review.
I have an ‘11 S2 and a ‘14 Tarmac as my other rides, but my S5 is in a totally different galaxy.

this might be my favorite bike ever
Great insights in the S5 customer interview ;)

Interesting that the computer mount, as small as it is, still looks like an afterthought.
Just wondering how you went with the 28mm continentals on the s5?
What Garmin mount you use on it?
Great review! Would you prefer it speced with the Enve 5.6 wheelset over the DTs? Thanks

How does it climb 🤔

Linda bike estou disposto a fazer um teste de longa duração nela cervelo só disponibilizar a bike ; obrigado!
so do you like it or not?
A bike that expensive i'd be worried about every tiny scratch.

Ok, so if you don't own it then that explains why you're not emotionally invested in it.
Wouldn’t want to leave it outside the chip shop
music made turn this off
I dont know what it is with cyclist youtubers and friggen awful backing tracks. Why?!
My CERVELO S5 will buy a bicycle like that by my dad
