Bit late in the day i know - playing catch up with TH-cam, saw the Rimmer Bros name (reminded me of my dads Triumph Stag). This video is brilliant - so helpful and gets big thumbs up from me, will check out your other vids.
Nice, clear and thorough video, cheers. How robust are the automatic transmissions on the models with the BMW V8? Are they a ZF or GM box? I'm looking at a used car (first LR), 200,000km and has just had the suspension overhauled as well as the timing chain and head gaskets. Should I steer clear or roll the dice?
I have a 2006 Land Rover LR3 HSE 4.4 V8 I'm replacing cylinder head gaskets. Can you please help with timing? Where is number 1 piston related to the key way on crankshaft?
Hey john paul great work . I have a 04 HSE with a ticking noise on the left side of my engine . Also my transmission it looks like stuck on 5th gear . It does engage reverse and going forward it shifts all the way to 5th gear , any tips on that ? Thanks
Hi there. I was doing my first oil change on my 2004 L322 today and I accidentally removed the drain plug at the rear of the engine instead of the actual oil sump drain plug. I'm talking about the one with a pipe running to it that looks like it goes up to the PCV Valve. The oil all drained out and I then took out the actual oil drain plug just to see if anymore would come out but the sump was empty. My question is if I put the two drain plugs back in, replace the filter and refill with oil will it be ok? Or have I done something really silly and drained some other fluid? Very helpful video by the way. Thanks.
Hi Guys, is the ignition coil different on the LPG system compared to the Petrol only? I've just bought a 2003 4.4 v8 with gas conversion and it has a miss fire, if so, would you be able to tell me which I need, thanks
I'm no professional, but from what a certain professional (The Car Wizard) says, these engines are NOT reliable and this specific BMW era of the Range Rover should be avoided like the plague.
Nice video , I've LR3 V8 4.4 and I want to change the sparkle plug , do I need to do gab for it ?! Or just purchase it from the dealer and insert it ! Thanks
Something like this I would imagine www.amazon.co.uk/Silverline-451946-Disconnection-3-Piece-Sizes/dp/B005DQ6WVW/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1545988190&sr=8-4&keywords=fuel+pliers
Make sure you purge any fuel in the line by pulling the fuel pump relay in the rear as the car is running. Let the car stall out from having no gas as to help depressurize the fuel line when removing the fuel filter. Then when fuel filter is replaced just simply reinstall the fuel pump relay and start the car up and go.
Hello✋🏻, I have LR3 V8 4.4 I want to now if I'm doing break bleeding to my car should I takeout the battery or just take out the key from the ignition ? Thank you
If you are using a pressure system to bleed the brakes, then you do not need to remove the battery or key. If you are using 2 people, one of which is pumping the brake pedal, then you will need the ignition on to activate the brake servo which will make the task easier as the pedal will be hard to move otherwise. At no point should you need to disconnect the battery or remove the key.
Rimmer Bros TV thanks for answers , but I want to say what I understand , by pressure system you mean obd tools that I must hook it in the car system to clear and read faults !! In the two situation I don't need to take the key from ignition. Excuse my weak English and thanks
hello good night I apologize for my language, but I do not speak English would be so kind to pass me the torque diagram of the heads of the Land Rover Freelander 2002 2.5 please I have seen many media and I could not find this information. I am from Sonora Mexico and in this place there are almost no cars of this brand

Thank you very much.
A very nice little To-Do list and some good general points to get started.
Great video, very informative, and clear instructions. Well done.
Outstanding instructor, subbed! Hope you have some more videos on the 2010-2013MY.
only thing is remove the oil filter before you drain the oil so the oil is gone in the filter housing
Nice, clear and thorough video, cheers.

ZF transmission, if the price is good, go for it.
Probably too late now, but for what it's worth, any Range Rover that has been touched by BMW should be avoided imo. Stick to 2008 on up.
You have no idea what you are talking about. BMW is the only way to go in the Mk3 RR.
The m62 is a legend.
Thank you very much !
Nice Job

Very difficult to diagnose without the vehicle here. Think it's time to take it to a garage unfortunately.

Yep, you should be just fine.
Rimmer Bros TV Thanks for the reply. It looks like it's a return line from the oil separator up the top. Appreciate the confirmation.
Hey
I have range rover 2005 and I replaced the air mass flow before 1 years.
And now I have problems again in the sensor.

BMW X5 and Range Rover engine is the same?
Are these engines reliable in your professional opinion?

@@kenbina I now also believe this to be true. They 4.4 litres are best to stay away from altogether

No need to gap plugs, just insert it straight from the dealer.
Rimmerbros. What are the special pliers John Paul uses in this video for fuel filter replacement? The pliers to disconnect the lines? Thank you

How come you don’t change the oil filter before draining the engine oil?
It really doesn't matter which way round you do this process.
