Bobby Clark was a class act. I met him in Louisville years back. wrote him a few months before he died. He wanted to send me his book (wouldn't let me pay for it). I have it autographed to me from him. One of my earthly treasures.
+George Ronald Anderson Jr. I did not know that; the last I heard a year or so ago (?) was that Bobby was singing pro-Opera stuff ? ? ? Any info ? ? ? THX!
A great sounding tenor...he sang while Lillie Fern was away and sounded a lot like her on the records of that day. Glen Payne told me he got lazy in his olden age!
@metanoeo1 I remember reading about the Larynx in Dr. Seuss's book. "A Larynx comes in all sizes and shapes It wobolly fibbles and robbilly zapes With glovitty-gloves ready to fight From your adam's apple, it will bite".
Mack Tauton followed Bobby Clark. A couple of albums have Mack shown but the tenor vocals were by Bobby. Mack was a great tenor too as demonstrated by this video from the same REUNION album @ watch?v=biDfDR5VXmU
Bobby is great! it is odd to hear a tenor voice come from him (because the "more rounded people" are often bass singers) not saying that he is fat but there is nothing wrong with being big as long as your healthy I would never make fun of "fat" people because I am one myself. (and guess what? I sing bass lol) anyway he is a GREAT tenor!
@MrKyledude18 The size of the body has nothing to do with it. Think of classical music and opera and a guy named Pavarotti. It has to do with the size and shape of the larynx. Typically, a male with a more pronounced adam's apple will have a lower voice.
Beautiful with great harmony but Bob does not have that gear. Not a knock at all because I have never heard a male hit that note without squealing. It's a woman's part no matter who sings it.
Only thing wrong with Southern Gospel is there isn't enough of it.
One of the great tenors of Gospel music. A true high tenor, not a high lead trying to sing tenor. One of the greats.
