Awesome Review! The best Supra review I have seen in a long time! You really did your homework and I learned a lot of new stuff about the Supra. And I thought I knew everything about these cars. The Supra interior was highly criticized for being to plain for such an expensive car. But that was Toyota's goal to keep your eyes on the road and not have to reach too far to get to the controls. The auto climate was the simplest and easiest to use out of all its competitors. Just a push of a button and 2 quick turns of the dials and you were set! No fancy pictograph climate screen here.
Also the Celica Supra was badged as the Celica XX for the JDM market in both generations. The A70 was the the first time the Supra badge was ever used on a JDM car. Great channel, I love your enthusiasm and knowledge and the clear passion that is evident in all your videos!
Great in depth review, but one more small correction: the 2JZ-GTE first appeared in the JZS147 Aristo 3.0V before the A80 Supra. Also, have you ever found out why Toyota used the letter V on its turbo inline 6 90s sedans? Both Aristo generations, JZX90/100/110 Tourer V’s, JZS171 Crown Athlete V
Yes.... Channel with real facts usually has less subs on youtube sadly........I mean look at Doug Demu.... i have to admit it was entertaining at the beginning.
dude you are destroying other car reviewers with your reviews dude!! i love ur reviews man you know every single thing about the cars you review!! cant wait till you will drop a review of your ek9!! i hope you’ll sometime review the ae86, s2000, nsx and the eg6
Finally a Supra with actual usable power. I love these kinds of builds, simple yet tasteful. Also, Dylan seems like the kinda guy you invite to hangout for afternoon coffee, very chill. Keep it up JDM Masters👍.
@@moisesezequielgutierrez yup, I've read somewhere a guy in Japan takes his mk4 out to track sessions, & people are surprised to see the supra on-track. I guess people just assume supras are either dragsters, high power streetcars or dyno queens.
@@izzdin6228 Yeah, the A80 is not the best or the perfect handling cars by any means and compared to the other Japanese sports Cars of the time, but it's really good. I'm not an A80 owner but with the right mods, tunings, and settings, and enough driving skills, these "Japanese muscles" can handle really well and show some nimble movements.
@@izzdin6228 Well... it's really similar to my first comment, my bad. But i'm saying is that, it's always about the right settings. But we can agree that they're really one of the great Cars, right? Edit: It's just really rare for me for big Cars like the Supra to go at the Track sessions. They always amaze me.
I've wondered if the reason why 1/2JZ engines are so good at being durable with power mods is due to Toyota planning to increase the power output in anticipation to the Gentleman's agreement being lifted. Either that or they just wanted an extremely durable 325 hp engine that will last 200,000+ miles. Great review! It would be cool to see a similar review on a JZX100.
Im an AMG guy but I grew up building Hondas and nissans ect.. "B16 swaps, B18s, H22s." CRXs Integras, Preludes, 350Zs just to name a few. These videos are phenomenal with the info and the Japan setting makes me feel like a watching a real Tokyo Extreme Racer video game or the early days of Gran Turismo on the early playstations. His info and presentations are just some of the best online to date. Especially with one of our all time favorite JDMs of all time! The Toyota Supra! Always will have a special place for my all time favorite cars for this beast of an extremely modifiable, monster 90s JDM car for forever! Keep up the good work!
Soarer owner here in the states. Great backround info on both cars!!! Quickly this channel has become my favorite jdm related channel for car nerds like myself lol. I learned the japanese word for fast by watching the original hot version videos of the supra back in the day! What a machine. So happy i made the cross over to toyota from 10 years of owning s chassis and the odd 50th ae 300 zed.
This channel is great as you have a presenter who knows what he is talking about and gets into all the little nerdy details you otherwise wouldn't know about from mainstream sources
Your content is amazing. Never change the way you make these videos. First, it surely gonna blow up (you guys deserve it), and secondly the accuracy and authenticity of the content is stunning. I watch everyone and I’m from Canada. I own a GVF 14’ STi and I can see where the spirit of that car is from through your channel. Dont change hard work pays off. You guys lit!!!!
Fantastic insight into the JZA80. I have a 1998 BPU 6speed in blue with recaro's and it drives fantastic - i cant imagine what they were like to acquire in the 90's and drive as it was truly ahead of the times.
I'm a Subie nut , but every time I hear that fckn screaming 2jz I want to build one , they are abundant here in my area of Canada , great video and stellar delivery !
Also thank you for the little bits of information like the similarity between the soarer and wheel base info, I really like to hear things that are known by* experience enthusiasts
I read something like... a car built by a team of racers... on the earlier press review of this Supra. Even the project lead would test it on the track. Pretty cool! And that wing shape, side profile... so unique to the car. Thank you again for the thorough and enjoyable video. :)
I was 14 or 15 when I first seen the Supra on the road and I remember thinking how futuristic it looked. There was nothing else like it around my town.
I completelly understand the owner of this A80 he has the same opinion and feel on this car. Supra's don't need any bodykits or crazy exterior additives at all, the body lines are perfect in any means. Sometimes factory option is the way to keep. The only thing Supra needs is to unleash all the locked potential it hides, I'm talking about the factory could easily released this chassis with 550-600hp back in 90's. Thanks JDM masters, good video!
Keep up the great work! Loving all the anorak factoids which is really enjoyable to watch and makes a difference between yourselves and every other TH-cam 'JDM' channel.
Really impressed by your knowledge on japanese cars and its history , One of my favourite youtube channels to watch rightnow as we are stuck in homes , Btw thanks for the video , A80 supra is my dream car and i learnt alot things about it from You !!!
Awesome video as always. I really appreciate the body being kept factory, its so much nicer! Also I'm looking forward to a video of a JZX car in the future hopefully!
I gotta feeling ur channel is gowing to grow fast, i myself have fell back in love with 90s 00s japanese cars. Growing up on gran turismo, need for speed, fast and furious really conditioned me to enjoy ur videos this much 😀. But nar its because you are awesome and you know ur stuff and ur history
I didn't know about the Yamaha connection with the 2J, only the Beams engines. It seems that making motorcycle engines seems to be one of the best knowledge bases to make good auto engines, looking at some of the legendary Honda motors too.
I'm a new subscriber to your channel and I only watched the suby wrc video and this and I can only say that you are the best reviewer that I ever seen with Henry Catchpole!! I'm from Italy and now with coronavirus quarantene i'm going to watch all of them! They are better than TV series 🤣🤣
A80 and FD are beautifull cars. But you are forgetting the Z32, has been in the top 10 best looking cars for 10 years straight in the US. Also won many many awards for design and engine.
Thank you, this venue is so much better!!! =) But the WEATHER was on your side on that day!!! ;) A "TIMELESS" classic, the last TRUE Supra of it' s kind?!?! T T The SOUND of the exhaust is AMAZING!!!...
Great video. I like the presenter, nice guy and clearly has done his homework on the cars he is describing. As an Evo enthusiast I really liked his other 2 evo videos as well. My 95 Evo 3 arrives to the US next week and I own an 05 Evo 8 MR which I've built into a racecar of sorts. Cheers from the USA!
I may be late to the party, but nevertheless : Great video, Really liked the part were the turbo layout was eplained more via the technical drawings. Is a review for the A90 also considered ?
Dude..your review really in depth and intereting. Your explanantion is clear and always get me intrigue to know more and more. Could you PLEASE make an in depth review of another legendary but often overlook which is TOYOTA MR2 SW20 Turbo...a thousand please!🙏🙏🙏
This still looks better then the RX7. The design still looks modern where the RX7 with the flip up looks you know right away it’s a old car. The Supra can’t be beat design wise. Great video man
Hey man it would be so cool if you could find an 8g galant/legnum vr4, i have one and it would be so cool to finally see a proper video of one from japan..love your stuff man
I owned a 1JZ Soarer at one time but the Supra was always my dream car. Regardless of the 2JZ I just absolutely love the styling. Unfortunately they are 3x the price they should be. You have to be out of your mind to pay what they are asking now a days or have way to much money to burn.
Beautiful example. I've always lusted after the skyline as we never got them stateside but if I had the chance I'd have to take the jza80, mk4, mkiv or whatever you want to call this legend of a vehicle
Love your channel bro. You didnt mention the jzs147 Aristo having the 2jzgte before the Supra had it tho. Looking forward to the jza80 vs R34 comparison.
11:07. Correction. I made a small mistake. The ‘Aero Top’ or ‘Targa Top’ used Aluminium for the removable roof. Coupe hard top was conventional steel.

The a80 looks good in all forms. I took a spin in a 550 horsepower single turbo. It can do 750 but kept it as a street friendly to enjoy

thats why i love this channel
Better Version of review, Fact and History by Parts of the Car
Yes.... Channel with real facts usually has less subs on youtube sadly........I mean look at Doug Demu.... i have to admit it was entertaining at the beginning.

Can you do a similar story for the jzx100 series?
