These types of videos are often your most helpful to me. I was literally thinking of all the great games I have on the shelf that I simply do not play either because it's a lot to get out in total content or time investment and games that I don't play because there is something else that fits the same requirements that I will typically choose instead. Appreciate you as always!

I played Feed the Kraken for the first time last night (3/30/24) and I'm not a social deduction gamer, and it was very fun. Probably a decent percent of the game experience is the group, but hey the game is good with mutiple layers to consider than all the other deduction games. We played with 6 fwiw.

I created a solo variant (on BGG) called "Hunt for the Rebels" in order to play the Empire with Star Wars Rebellion - I was fortunate enough to have One Stop Coop Shop to give it a try :) - I also did a small cross-over with Star Wars Armada, to enhances the units as it does not have the most interesting units like Tie Interceptor, Tie Advanced, Slave One, the B-Wings, the Falcon, the Decimator (Huge fan of Thrawn, wanted to have his ship in the game), Tie Phantom and my all time favorite, the Tie Defender.

Agree with all selections aside from Cosmic Encounter and SW Rebellion. Too many fun experiences in those that I just don't get with other titles.

For me - Brass Birmingham, I like it a lot and have really enjoyed my plays. It would be hard to table at the 3-4 player count where it's better and I'd choose other games at 2 players which is my most common player count for heavier games.

My daughter just got her copy of 7th Citadel last week and we really enjoyed the first scenario. Seems to be really challenging.

Hi Alex, I had the same issue with cosmic encounter, and I was about to give up on it and sell it, but luck is on my side and found another group that loves it, so for now it's still on my collection. So many great games that cannot find a place on the table, Moonrakers is on that spot.

I just late pledged Dceased, I am a huge DC fan and I hope it matches my expectations, as I like Marvel Zombies and 2nd Edition. I also own Massive Darkness 2 and I am having a blast with it.

I considered getting Brass Birmingham for a long time, first waiting to see if I could get a better deal on it, but then ultimately found that while I do think the game is excellent and enjoy the hell out of it when I do play it, I also know realistically that it just won't hit the table at my place.

Man, Alex, after hearing your complaints about 2nd edition Zombicide I thought for sure Undead or Alive would be right in your wheelhouse. I know the theme doesn't speak to you, but it definitely seems to address your desire for a punishing, yet winnable, Zombicide. But theme matters (I love westerns, so win for me), and if there are other ones out there that scratch that itch but do it with a theme you prefer, I can respect that.

And your mini-convo about flow is interesting as well. For example, my wife likes (not loves) Undead or Alive but hates Spirit Island with a passion. Both to me have a somewhat similar difficulty, but how that difficulty plays out in the game matters.

I wish I could have all Lacerda games, but at the end of the day, they woulb be sitting in the shelf for ages, cause my group prefer lighter games... Gr8 video!

For me it's Twilight Imperium. I played it once and LOVED the game, but I don't have a consistent 5 players to be owning and "hosting" the game. I'm more comfortable to play it once every 6 months with a group that is looking for one more player.

Agreed. The Frequency is so uncommon for plays that owning it seems unnecessary for the price. I will play it once or twice a year typically, but my friend has it with the expansion so that's when I'll get the plays in.

Star Wars Rebellion, while good, lacks proper end game mechanics. Ways to close the game out by both sides. The only way to victory for the Rebellion is wait it out. Which means you are guaranteed to have a long game if Rebellion is winning. I like the way War of the Ring handled end game. It gave you 2 routes to victory for both sides, 1 method is more likely to achieve than the other. It gave a push/pull to the game that made you keep in mind more elements and allowed you to sneak out an early win if the other player wasn't paying attention. I think both SW Rebellion and War of the Ring are due for a new version to address some of the issues plaguing them and incorporate some of the lessons learned that Dune War for Arrakis got. They are all great games but show how board game design has evolved and learned over time. They just need a new coat of paint.

Mint Imperium completely replaced Star Wars Rebellion for me. Same essential fun, mint tin package.

I haven't decided if i let Dead or Alive go or if it replaces Black Plague. *yikes* Like you i have so much Zombicide......

Just let go of my Undead or alive😮‍💨. Nothing personal I just stopped playing it once I got Marvel Zombies and didn't see myself going back.
I don't own much zombicide but I'm thinking about grabbing Dead Keep so it'll cover the itch I might've gotten from a under or alive/black plague.

I would love to own Rebellion. It's really sounds like a great game. Alas, I have no one to play with. My wife doesn't like Star Wars and it's a bit too long for her taste. And when I meet with friends, we are usually more than just 2 people.

Shadows of Brimstone: Forbidden Fortress. Bought this a couple years ago. An influencer I followed was gaga over it, so I HAD to get it. Played a couple times with adult family and they're just not into it. Can't seem to get others to play, so it sits on the shelf bulging with a couple of extra components. Does ANYBODY play it anymore? Haven't seen any youtubes about it for years....

Undead or Alive is not a good entry game into the zombicide universe. I purchased for a friend, but have never won a scenario. At some point, the juice was not worth the squeeze. I have backed the dead keep and I hope that game is a little more forgiving and more importantly fun.

Um... Reasons Why I don't own Acquire.. Indonesia is the best one, Reasons Why I don't own Indonesia - I don't like heavy Euros. Um so why not say Acquire is a Euro and you don't like Euros then. lol. :) I feel like having Cosmic Encounters is key if you realize you have the right gaming group to table it. Just having it in case you run across the right group might be part of having a flexible collection. Ok so overall, do you consider collection management to be having a collection flexible to handle potential gaming groups or the group you have. Interesting approaches. I TOTALLY understand your dynamics and storage issues to focus on the group you have but if you have a bit more flexibility you might want to stock games like that as a "just in case". With the right group its just really good.
