  • I don't make sweets or candy very often but I always have to make a batch of my old fashioned vanilla fudge for Christmas. It makes the perfect edible sweet gift. FULL RECIPE: bit.ly/2hs08FZ

    What I like about this clip is it uses British ingredients it’s staple stuff we have in our cupboards although I do like Americans recipes but always seem to hunt for stuff such as corn syrup etc lol 😝 it can be tricky stuff to find especially when you go to your small retail store lol 😂

      But... she uses two tablespoons of corn syrup, right? Around 0:46 I think. I remember immediately thinking: great, this stuff again. :p (It's not that common around here either.) But other recipes use glucose syrup and I'm guessing it's pretty much the same. :)

    hiya. Where have you been all my life as only just found you on here and must say what a breath of fresh air you are, beautiful, funny , and boy can you cook why you haven't been snapped up by one of the tele channels yet I'll never know. I've got some frozen clotted cream in the frezzer so goin to give this a go, I've tried making fudge before but wasn't very good as to grainy.

      awe, thanks so much Ian lol! really kind of you. Hope you enjoy my fudge recipe, the cream makes it smooth and keep stirring at the end, that helps make it less grainy!!

    We just made fudge but it was the firmer kind. I think the only difference in our recipe was the omission of cream. Either way both kinds are great.

    Nice, Caroline. We might have to try something similar. Have you ever tried making a peanut butter and chocolate fudge?
    Thanks for the video. I hope you're doing well.

    I wonder if you could use a stand mixer to beat it to make it really really smooth?

  • @elizabethbennet4791
    @elizabethbennet4791 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hm I bet this is going to be a good one because I've been looking at loads of authentic vanilla fudge recipes for christmas and it seems like the ones using sugar NOT corn syrup get everyone complaining about their texture being too rough, and the ones using corn syrup are smooth and everyone likes, but of course I don't want to use corn syrup ... :D

    "I can tell it's nearly ready just by looking at it"
    that's how you make fudge. cut the corn syrup though.

    What is the syrup for? Can it be omitted? Thanks :)

    • @irs6114
      @irs6114 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kinda,the syrup I'd mainly to stop the sugar from crystalyzing which could ruin the texture of the fudge
