- RECIPE BELOW: This quick and simple stir-fry Taiwanese spinach is much heartier and denser than regular spinach. It's packed with calcium and iron, plus it's healthy and nutritious! ENJOY!

Ingredients:
• 1# Taiwanese spinach-cut in thirds, split stems
• 3 cloves crushed garlic

Yes! I haven’t had this since my childhood. My grandma used to say she didn’t even need to cook meat bc all I wanted was ong choy and rice. She would cook it this way, and add a couple cubes of what she called Chinese blue cheese.

Is Taiwanese Spinach the same as Ong Choy?
I agree with you; Taiwanese spinach is heartier! I also find that it doesn't have much of that strange squeakiness that often happens when regular spinach is consumed. So I like these much better. :) I make these into a soup with dashi, tiny bait fish, scrambeled eggs and fish tofu!
