    When I first started with my 3lb rope I underestimate seriously I tried to do 3 sets of 20 and I was toast. Now I do 5 to 10 sets of 30 with battle ropes, stairs, and burpees mixed in. This rope will turn you into a beast I recommend it. Plus when you use a regular rope after it feels like a string.

    The ropes are durable and just like the ones at the gym. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxTFxba6lNeHrZaHoY_LXe6ZzmMfaipnwu Caution: I bought the 50 feet ropes and they are long and heavy so make sure you have the space (I do have the space). If I was to do it again I would probably get a shorter version as 50 feet (25 feet each side) is a little long.

      Heavy rope jump rope training definitely can fatigue the forearms and shoulders faster than normal, which is not necessarily a bad thing depending on what your aim is.

    I used to have a rope with added weights inside the handles until after about a year it wore out. I would do 30 minutes with a few breaks in between. Now I recently bought one these and it is a huge difference, but I know I’ll get the hang of it. Jump rope is awesome, and great video man!

    • @thewayofthejumprope
      @thewayofthejumprope  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      When I was a kid, I often played indoor soccer at a nearby high school that had peg boards on the wall of the gymnasium. We used to try it. I remember it being a lot of fun and physically challenging. A lot of pro climbers use them. And they have serious grip, strength, and stability.
      I do a lot of hanging from bars, pullups, chinups. Rope climbing too when I have access to ropes.
      Note to self: get or build a peg board in the near future. :-) Thanks!

    Hey guys!
    I just bought one of these ropes and today is the first day that I have used it, so this video has been super good for me, thank you very much !!!
    I have noticed tho that my left wrist hurt a little (I am right-handed). I have also noticed that the rope deviated to the left; that is, the bounce was not just below my feet or a little ahead, but more to the left, a little diagonally. I suppose it is due to poor technique with this rope, derived from a lack of strength in the left arm, but I would like to know if anyone has had any experience like this and can advise me!
    Thanks a lot!!!

  • @copper4eva
    @copper4eva ปีที่แล้ว

    How do you think a rope like this compares to an interchangeable weighted rope? Like the cross rope, but there’s other brands too. Watching videos it looks like they can swing 2lb, 3lb, ropes with less wrist movement. Because the clip joint can swing better than something like this thick rope. I suppose this could be a pro or con.

    • @thewayofthejumprope
      @thewayofthejumprope  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      One advantage with heavy ropes like crossropes is they are more user-friendly on one's hands and grip. With battlestyle ropes, the handles are more rough and can twist in one's hands when spinning the rope which can be painful.
      Good things,
      Andrew

    • @thewayofthejumprope
      @thewayofthejumprope  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Dominique, I always jump rope outside even in winter, unless I was inside at a building, such as a boxing club. On my channel, there are many videos in which I was jumping rope in well-below freezing temperatures and had to clear away snow in order to jump. Fortunately, my ropes rarely snapped. I came to learn that, as far as PVC ropes went, the ones with a string center seemed the most durable in such conditions.

      @thewayofthejumprope  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I've never used a Crossrope heavy rope, so I couldn't say. I believe Crossrope also has a 3 lbs rope. One key difference between the two is that the rope in this video is literally a thick heavy rope; it's rope, the kind which you might use in school for climbing or for mooring boats. The Crossrope is not rope and is less thick, which may make it easier to spin. Not necessarily a bad thing. Until you try both, it's hard to say which you'd prefer. You might even like both but use them differently.
