my 2012 fit sport was totaled in july. I promised my self that I will buy a "bigger" car when I got my settlement. I got my settlement yesterday and my 2008 honda fit sport is sitting outside my house haha
I drive a 2008 Honda Fit. I’m the happiest woman ever. It is so reliable, dependable. Has great visibility, maneuverability. Easy to maintain. I’ve needed a few part replacements here and there over the years, but I cannot say how much I love my Fit. 187,000 miles on it now. I need to replace the struts at this point. I don’t want to get rid of it. I hope to get 200k+ miles on it.

Our family has had the Honda Fit since it came out in 2007, and I'm surprised at how well it still works. Besides a bit of rust, it's probably the most reliable car we've had, plus it's such a comfortable car. If the 2007 Honda Fit is this good, I can't imagine how amazing the newer Fits are.
@@mylifethaidiy7045 Mine actually haven't failed (yet), and I was able to get away with just replacing the spark plugs. A friend of mine had the coils fail on their Fit at just over 200,000kms. So, it's likely to be a one-time replace per ownership thing.
I'm still driving the Honda Fit that I bought new back in 2007--best car I ever owned. I love the standard transmission and the way the car handles. No mechanical problems at all until spring 2023 when the air condioner failed. Honda is not offering new Fits in the United States, so I ordered a 2024 Chevy Trax, which stayed on order for four months. Eventually, I decided I didn't want to give up my Fit quite yet and cancelled the Trax order. I made it through summer in Louisiana without air conditioning--love my Fit, but I wish it still had the side window ventilation that used to be standard in all cars.
2015 base LX, manual here. Bought new in 2014 for 17,100 cash. Love it as an everyday driver, "fits" up to five people, lots of room for stuff when only one or two inside, lawnmower, snowblower, groceries, boxes of stuff. Great mileage, fun to drive. No issues in 8 years, just oil changes, wiper inserts, and a set of better Michelin tires.
when my Peugeot 207 broke down I needed a car in a hurry, I managed to find a 2017 Honda jazz/fit for a decent price and it still had a free servicing with Honda included. I have been driving g it round for a couple years now and its the best car I have ever owned.
one of my friend left his honda fit 2006 with me when he went out of the country for a trip. i started driving the fit and fell in love with the car, owning a euro r cl/7 already now i own his Fit LOL had to buy it for a daily driver.
my grandmother bought a fit after she got rid of her old v8 caravan in the early 2000s. she kept using fits to the day she died, in 2020. and well the cars held up so i guess that's proof that they're safe. she was at that point she would go the wrong way on an avenue and honk the horn at everyone else for being idiots.
What a vivid description of your grandmother's driving! Since it was a Fit, I guess all those wrong-way fools just moved to the outsides of their lanes, leaving her plenty of space to go between them! 😁
My parents had a 2003 Honda Jazz (Fit in european markets) until around September 2021, when the clutch finally gave out (a known problem I think). Learned to drive in that thing, and boy was I spoiled with it once I'd passed my test. Yes it was a little old, yes the paint on the wing mirrors somehow fell off, and yes it leaked in the boot (until we fixed it just like the one in this video), but it practically sipped engine oil and petrol, was a blast throwing it around the country lanes at 5am, and practical as anything. The new hybrid model looks awesome too, still got that rigid body frame, the magic seats, and this time with a little more power. It's definitely on my list to look at when I end up needing to buy a car in the next few years.
They need to bring back the fit. The HR-V is no match to the fit it’s so sluggish and no joy in the drive. In Poland my grandparents have both the fit and the HRV. The HRV has nicer suspension but the Fit is like a warm knife going through butter on the country roads in Poland. This car loves twisty roads and is so fun to drive.
Yeah, my grandma has an HR-V, and while I've enjoyed driving it the couple times I have, and I'm sure if I owned one I could come to appreciate it more, it's definitely more watered down than the Fit. The Fit also just appeals to me a little more since it still markets itself as a small car rather than a crossover, and I'm definitely more of a small car guy
I just test drove a brand new HR-V this summer. I hated it. I slammed down the accelerator on turns in town and it did absolutely nothing. It was like driving the brand new Toyota Yaris I test drove in 2019. Absolutely no responsiveness to the throttle.
Just bought a Nighthawk Black, 2008 Honda Fit base with 36k in October. I love just about everything this car has to offer and I’m always googling reviews and seeing what others think. I’ve loaded my Honda Fit with A spar 4.0 inline 6 from my Cherokee XJ to a combo washer & dryer for a friend. It’s a joy to own!
Wow, only 36k! Here I thought I'd done well finding a one owner car with 150k on it 😅 It always amazes me how much you can fit in these cars, I've yet to try moving a washer and dryer with it, but it definitely has the space for one!
Nice! That's the reason I bought my 2008 Honda Fit over a prius, because I wanted to haul pickup transmissions and car engines. Pickups are to hard on gas.
I've had three Honda Jazzes, and am about to buy my fourth. It will park anywhere, carry four in comfort, and I've moved house with it, and moved all manner of building materials with it over the years. They have all been 100% reliable, and averaged 48-50 mpg.
We are looking at getting our soon to be 16-year-old son a used Fit/Jazz here in the Philippines. The problem is nobody wants to sell their's and any that are available are being sold wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy over priced. I guess it's supply and demand 101! Thanks for the Canadian perspective of a car we want to purchase.
Bought my 08 fit 5mt for $300 and the guy drove it to my house. Amazing car thats fun to drive and good mpg. My only gripe is the keys and lack of keyless entry. My door side lock is siezed. So i got to open it from the passenger side.
I had the same issue with my driver's door lock - water pools in and freezes due to the design unfortunately. Thankfully, lock cylinders are not overly expensive, and it's an easy enough job to do. I haven't bothered getting the new key chipped yet, so I do have a separate key for the driver’s door and ignition, but I think that's better than just not being able to use the driver’s door
videos like this convinced me to buy my 2008 Fit today. I love Honda and I'm so amazed by the space in these things. Driving it is so much fun so far. It hasn't rained up here in a minute so fingers crossed I didn't get a leaker lol!
Check your spare tire well. That is where I discovered my leak, SO much water had accumulated! I had wondered why there was always a wet carpet smell... it was the water sloshing up into the back seat floor! I applied silicone to many different seams under the hatch and that solved it. Car smells good.
approx 6:00 if you go back and watch that video, Brian does differentiate between the two generations. I don't see the year yours was made in the title, but the epoxy you pointed out is a dead giveaway that it DID leak. I'm looking at a 3rd gen (no leak) version tomorrow. Wish me luck!!
Cool video. If it hasn't already been said, the 2nd gen US Fit gets a whopping 117hp! Lightweight with stiff chassis and manual transmission make this econobox way more fun than it should be!
@@InsaneBimmer I think the first gen was made in Japan. Yet it was still painted with the cheapest stuff they could find 😂. They probably wanted to cheap out even more and cut more costs with the frame.
To find out when vtec kicks in, just tap into the vtec solenoid wire and run a light to it. The solenoid gets +12v to open the valve. I've used the LED windsheild sprayers from Autozone as my "vtec lights" before. Just spluce the 12v source from the solenoid and ground the other wire.
Congrats! I have a 2019 Fit, not my first car at all, but certainly my favorite. (Sorry, Integra, you were fun, but the Fit is just as fun and way more practical.) It's so easy to park, too: small, turns well, and I can see in every direction.
Mazda 2 De with a zy-ve nice styling, similar power, reliable, currently well priced (in Australia idk about US and other places) Mine is a 2013 model manual with 237,000 kilometres on it or 147,264 miles. only done fluids, brakes, and recently engine mounts.
I drive a 2003 honda jazz 1.3dsi i it's petrol and manual been so reliable wouldn't buy any other car great motoring all round and it's 20 years old had it 3 years now no problems what so ever from the UK in 2023 💪🙂
07 1.3L Jazz here. On par with my old MX-5 as the greatest car I've ever owned. Another couple of years and these are going to be the new EG/EK Civic. K-swapped Fit/Jazz's are becoming increasingly common.
My FIT looks just like yours! Mine is a red, 2008, automatic, base model. I have 204,000 miles on it. Just bought it this summer and everything works, except the coolant temp sensor. How often do coil packs fail???
I'm not completely sure on the frequency of the coil pack failure, I would say it's about a one-time per ownership replacement. If you ever notice a slightly rough idle or slight surge in power when accelerating, that's when you know it's time to replace them.
That sounds like me and my family. We use sheet metal screws and "the right stuff" caulking made by permatex every time we get in an accident with a deer. Might as well keep driving it as long as it is runable!
Drove a 3rd gen Fit for 3 over 3 years as a work car, but changed jobs and ended up buying a 9th gen Civic. I like the Civic, but wish it were a Fit whenever I'm carrying anything, sedans really are lacking on cargo space. I miss the directness of the steering on the Fit too. Hoping to find a 2nd gen Fit at some point and K Swap it and add a transmission with an LSD, but that's a few years out with current used car prices.
I've dreamt about K swapping this car, but it requires cutting the firewall, and is well out of my budget. I have a couple viable B18B1 blocks that I have for my race car that tempt me, but ultimately, even with the block already in my possession, any swap is out of my budget at the moment unfortunately.
I fell in love with Fit when I first saw it in 2003 (1st gen) and still find the design is more beautiful than the later models...no offence to the later models, maybe it is just me...
Yeah, the winters are 215/60/15s, which is definitely a little big for the car. My summers are 205/60/15s, which have a bit of a lower sidewall since they have less chunky tread, and they don't hamper the turn radius at all like the 215s do
bro I am looking at an 07 Fit Sport with 5 speed manual and only 150,000 km (just broken in basically) 39 mpg hwy, manual is fun to drive & fit everything in the back! What else do you need
@@stevejeffrey11 that's too bad. I kinda feel like that's just the car market in general these days. It's definitely a weird time to buy or sell a used vehicle.
Lol, this is really a popular car in Asian countries as they are cheap and affordable to own. Not only that, the gas mileage for this car is nothing, plus the amount that you can store inside this car is insane 😊
I have a 2016 honda fit EX model. White with white rims. Looks rally like. It's a really good small car that I use as my daily driver. Bad that is that it has a 8 gallon tank which means I have to fill up more often. But definitely a good car.
watched regularcarreviews and seen his leaked too, i dont have that issue with my 2007 honda fit, it does hold moisture when it gets humid tho. but does not leak. i just wish mine was a manual but mine is a hand me down from my mother when she passed away in 2021 so im not complaining i use it to doordash lol.
i got my red gd3 back in september and ive loved it since. I've had alot of cars and this one just hits the spot. I thought i was the only one that was so satisfied by the 2-3 shifts lol
I Have a 96" Honda Civic EK with a 210HP B16A. I thought I has something special, until my wife decided to buy a Honda Fit (called Honda Jazz in Europe). I always told her (before she bought it) how she should get mine, and I could buy an EP3 Type R. But she insisted on the Fit, as "one day we might have kids and they need a roomier car". Turns out we did have a baby, and boy this car is PERFECT for a young family. We got the 1.3L i-DSI version in Europe with 80something HP. I will give our car 9/10 JUST because of that engine. If our little Fit/Jazz had 110-120 HP, I would rate it 11/10. Dependable as NOTHING else. Easy to drive. Great visibility. Great Steering/Gearing/Clutch Feel. Easy to maintain. Cheap parts if eventually something breaks. Handles, really, REALLY good. Practical ? :D I've literally re-built our home with materials I transported with this car. I've driven many, many cars. And my family mostly owned German cars. We also own a E320 Benz. And i'm honestly telling you, there is NOTHING like the Fit. PS. OBVIOUSLY WHEN YOU CONSIDER EVERYTHING. PRICE TOO. This isn't a 100K car. ;)
The L Series are pretty underrated little engines, especially when you stick a small turbo in them, good in stock form up to around 200hp/200ibs-ft generally
I haven't seen any turbo kits, but I know there are supercharger kits (like the one Mugen used), which I'd love to install one day, but it's just a little out of my budget at the moment
@@mraarontorres the kit that I'd originally been eyeing seems to have been discontinued, but I was able to find this supercharger kit - www.andysautosport.com/products/sprintex__244A1011.html
My 2011 Honda Jazz is still great. I have the hybrid version and if I drive mindfully it needs less than 5l per 100km. Never had a major problem and I'm at 285 000 km
Thank you 😊 I can't speak to the reliability of the automatic, but just in terms of driving experience, I would suggest trying to find a manual. This is seriously one of, if not the best manual transmissions that Honda has ever made.
They are all over the place so I would say so. But the manuals are a lot more fun. They have enough power to zip around, so having the option to hold gears does a lot in favor of getting enough power out of it to be a really fun car.
Also sometimes manuals will sit longer in used lots because few people know how to drive them these days. That was the case for me. I snagged a 2013 Fit sport manual with 30k miles in 2017 for under $12k. The sales guy even tried to discourage me from buying it "cause it's a basic manual" LoL
I have the 2008 FIT automatic. This car is quick and has lots of power. These are probably the best automatics Honda has. I saw a guy has a FIT with 500,000 miles on his original automatic. The manual transmissions in the FITs are known to have a SHUDDER. You will also have the expense of pulling the transmission every time the clutch needs to be changed.
From what I've heard from mechanic friends, the automatic transmissions are great, but the CVT requires more maintenance and may have to be replaced eventually. To be fair, they said this is true of many CVTs and Honda's is no worse than others. The stick shift is very nice, though. The clutch grabs smoothly and confidently, not a bad car to learn on even. Edit: no "shudder" in my 2019 manual Fit. The clutch in my previous (GM) car had 100,000 miles when I sold it, and Honda is known for making good manual transmissions. I'll be astonished if I need a clutch before 150,000 miles in this.
Just mike you, I already have one, and I love it 😁😁😁 2014 Honda Jazz/Fit gen 2 (one of the very last sold here, they were discounting them to get rid of remaining 2nd gen as 3rd gen just kicked in)
I have had my fit for three years now. From 100k miles to 179k now the headgasket went only cause the rad fan fuse relay broke and fan was not working otherwise it would have gone way more then 179k. I just rebuilt the headgasket had the cylinder head professionally worked on all valves changes and seats changed nd guides. Sad that this car does not have a temperature gauge or i would have noticed! By the time the idiot light comes on saying its hot which comes on at 225* is way past saving itself. So crazy that the car was so reliable i never noticed it did not have temperature gauge. The blue cold light on cold days gives a small sense of security. Anyways i had the sport with paddle shift which is a blast the trans has been phenomenal the whole time. I put headers and intake on only to remove the intake the car is not a intake car its much better being quick and discreet its a parking lot zipper. Try the stock intake lid again for another week im sure you will change your mind and go back. Best mpg i got was 38mpg with I believe 330miles on on tank of gas most of the time i was putting in 8.5 gallons of fuel from empty to full and getting 280-290miles on one tank of gas. I miss the car so much i still have it just cant pass ny inspection at the moment the second it does im driving this again. If anyone is out of state of ny that dosent have to do emission testing where if the cel light is on you cant drive i can sell you a newly rebuilt honda fit. Dm me or just reply il sell it cheap $2000 again it runs and drives just code comes up to much fuel and hence i cant pass inspection. I have put 2,500 since rebuild
Yeah, the lack of a temperature gauge is one of the flaws with this car that I missed in the video. I was a little worried about taking it out ti autocross without one just in case it got hot and I didn't know, but so far it's stayed cool enough. But I do have an aftermarket temp gauge laying around, I just haven't installed it yet.
My 2008 FIT has 2 temp sensors. One is the cold temp sensor and the other is the hot temp sensor. My hot temp sensor must have a broken wire further down the wiring harness, because I replaced the hot temp sensor in the bottom of the radiator, but the Code still keeps coming back on the scan tool. I make sure I top off my coolant once a week.
Honda recommends just using their Honda Manual Transmission fluid, and considering how infrequently it needs to be changed out, I think it's worthwhile spending a little extra for the OEM fluid.
i drove the honda dc2 and jdm dc5 many years ago, then i had a 2009 jdm ge8 fit rs 5 speed back in 2012 and fell in love with this practical little car, 10 years later i am in Australia driving my thai made 2017 jazz gk5 5 speed, i love it but it's not the jdm i had, and i think the 2nd generation fit/jazz has the best look and build, my sister had been driving my old ge8, crashed it multiple times, just makes me sad to think about it. i did not realize i had always been driving manual hondas until i wrote this message lol.
Manual Hondas are hard to beat! I love the dc2, although it's not my favourite looking Honda, it handles really well and the b series blocks are almost indestructible. I like the hatch more on the second gen Fit/Jazz, but I prefer front end of the first gen. I'd be curious to see if a second gen hatch would fit, since mine hatch is in poor condition anyway, then I could have the best of both worlds.
I too like manual Hondas! The clutch in my 2019 (GK5) Fit grabs much more gently than Civics and the Integra I drove before. Someone wrote that it's "less notchy." Do you notice a difference?
Each clutch will feel slightly different just as each car is slightly different, but I'd say the clutch in the Fit definitely needs to be eased onto a little more from a stop than some, but is super easy to rev match with. The clutch in my Insight for comparison is significantly lighter, and is definitely a little trickier to use, but I find it’s easier to do hillstarts with, but doesn't downshift or rev match as nicely. The shifter itself though is definitely the highlight of the transmission with the Fit
I don't have A/C in mine, but even just the regular fan speed is definitely somewhat lacking. Bizarrely, my car that blows the most cool air is my '84 Rabbit, which also doesn't have A/C
Love the 07' fit. After adjusting the valves it was obvious that it was designed for easy servicing. New coils are less money than a set of iridium sparkplugs. Never going to sell this car.
It's such a dream to do basic maintenence on! The only car I've ever done an oil change on that was simpler than the Fit was my Rabbit - you don't even need to jack that car up to have access to everything!
I have a 2020 Honda Fit and I’m pretty sad it got discontinued in the U.S. I feel like they should bring it back considering I’ve been seeing a lot more Fits on the road lately.
I'm on my 2nd Fit. Forget the year of my 1st, but my current one is a 2018 model. Liked the cupholders more in the previous model I had, but I don't think I could part with the lane watch camera + backup camera in the 2018 model. I was prepared to sell my 2018 Fit back when Honda announced newer models coming, such as hybrids with a ton of options... then it was said those were for Eastern countries and that the Fit would be discontinued in the US. I don't get why they would discontinue such an amazing vehicle. Sadly, Honda in general is falling behind in the EV car world. I fear for their future.
I love Fits, they’re fantastic city cars. But I live in the country and on the highway, the RPMs are flying. So you don’t enjoy the benefits you do in the city. I recently put both of my Fits (08 and 16) up for sale, only wanting to sell one. It’s blowing my mind that almost no one is messaging about them. I don’t understand the lack of excitement, they’re awesome little cars. Especially if you’re in a city
I wish the 2010 and older models had the traction control off button like the 2011 and newer models. I had to put snow tires on my 2008 to get around during the winter.
2:50 well, you don't have to feel it to know when it kicks in. what a VTEC engine does is open extra intake valves inside the cylinder at higher RPMs. doing that allows more fuel to be pulled into the cylinder, resulting in more power. the reason is to increase horsepower (work over time), not to be confused with torque (force at which the wheels turn) without sacrificing fuel economy by having the extra intake valves open at low RPMs. Peak power is made somewhere in the rev range, below red line. what VTEC does is make up for the limited power output at higher RPMs, so that you can have more power on tap at higher RPMs (torque), and overall, you will go farther, faster (horsepower). its pretty fuckin' genius, and its not the only revolutionary (no pun intended) mechanism Honda has invented over the years.
4,500 is vtec is you out an airfilter on you will hear it. I have headers and intake vtec is loud i have same color as yours i will make a video of the vtec for you hopefully this week!
I both love and hate mine. In my opinion, it's absolutely ugly and underpowered. However, it's absolutely reliable, it's extremely useful, and you can "fit" a lot of stuff in it.
I find the engine responds well if you rev it high. My 2019 Fit can merge onto the highway in third gear, plenty of power there! Gotta agree with you about "ugly" though. Mine has the anime-style sharp-cornered body panels with the fake vents. Oh well.
Gave up on getting another Fit. Bought 2 for $5k back in 2020 now they are 1 for $5k lol. It’s brilliant, the best of its class etc etc but there are better options for the money now. I got a 2016 Mazda3 hatch for cheaper than any decent 1st Gen USDM Fit. The Fit has more cargo space by design, but the 3 is just as fun and looks better. A bit bigger and 200-300lbs more but much newer/nicer interior, and better safety by 1-2 generations.
Out of the Blue has not left this car's CD player in months. I think A New World Record is probably my favourite ELO album, but sadly I don't have that one on disc
@@lab____2003 I mean, most of what makes the Fit great isn't the motor, though I wouldn't really want less power. Just gotta hold out, I'm sure you'll find one eventually
What's with people installing a cold air intake in the engine bay? It's not gonna change anything because it's drawing hot air the only difference it makes is sound, unless that's what your going for
You got it, it's just for sound. I think the engine note sounds better with the intake. It does make it a little droney for highway driving, but I personally rarely take this on the highway
The Yaris isn't the best chassis to have for the 1NZ platform. The Toyota Echo is around 200 lbs lighter than the Yaris at 2050 lbs and is a nice bit faster to 60 mph even compared to the Fit. Better gas mileage too.
The Echo and the Yaris are both great simple straight-forward cars as well, but in terms of overall usability, the Fit definitely comes out on top. It may be slightly slower and a little less efficient, but it has a significantly more usable interior space (and nicer overall styling in my opinion). I chose to compare it to the Yaris, as that's what it was being compared to when it was new, with the Yaris and Fit being marketed more as "premium" economy cars, and the Echo as more of a basic economy car.
@@negil I do love the way the Fit looks. The first gen Fit is the best looking modern subcompact in my opinion and those Integra LS wheels you have look really sweet on there. Good lightweight choice of wheel too. The Fit definitely beats the Yaris. The Yaris can be a bit boring to drive in comparison. The Echo makes it come to life more. It feels quirky in a way that gives it a really different personality to drive. The Yaris just feels a bit more boring in every aspect compared to the Echo. I think the real comparison to be made is between the Honda Fit and the Scion Xa. Also, for utility comparison, the first gen Scion Xb. Both of which are still based on the Toyota 1-NZ drivetrain. The drivetrains are identical between the Echo and Yaris but the difference in the Xa and Xb, they have a lower ratio final drive gear which makes them super happy to rev at every RPM on the power band. It's hard to beat the utility of a hatchback and I do believe that is why the Echo ultimately loses out to the Fit. The Xa compared to the Fit is a very tough call because they seem pretty equal in comparison. Scion really made the interiors quite a bit nicer than your average Toyota. It's too bad that they made the Xa as ugly as it is, lol. I'd deal with it for all of it's Pros though.

I have a 210 Honda Fit 5 speed manual and it is the best car I ever had.
2:50 VTEC for the GD series l15s engages at 3500RPM "cam timing phasing" and around 5000RPM for "lobe change over."
10 bonus points for you!
I had a feeling it engaged either around 3 grand or right up at the top, but could never quite tell for sure.
its always felt around 4500 (I drive the auto version though)
Just purchased a 2008 honda fit sport in nhbp. It has 149k miles for $2,500. I love driving this thing. Its a amazing little car.
when my Peugeot 207 broke down I needed a car in a hurry, I managed to find a 2017 Honda jazz/fit for a decent price and it still had a free servicing with Honda included.
@@mylifethaidiy7045 they are slow ass cars the slowest I’ve ever driven
Just bought a Nighthawk Black, 2008 Honda Fit base with 36k in October. I love just about everything this car has to offer and I’m always googling reviews and seeing what others think. I’ve loaded my Honda Fit with A spar 4.0 inline 6 from my Cherokee XJ to a combo washer & dryer for a friend. It’s a joy to own!
Wow, only 36k! Here I thought I'd done well finding a one owner car with 150k on it 😅
It always amazes me how much you can fit in these cars, I've yet to try moving a washer and dryer with it, but it definitely has the space for one!
For all the folks in the US, the jazz is what we call the fit here and a UK gallon is more than US gallon
Hi,
Please let me know if you want to sell one of your old honda fit.
I really want to buy used Fit - manual transmission
@@mindmuserelaxbeentertained888 thanks but I'm in Britain and it's Right Hand Drive -- and still going well.
My first car was a base model 08 fit with a manual transmission. Cool car you could fold the seats all the way down and sleep in the back.
No regrets about my Fit. Reliable and practical.
I love my 10’ GE8. Amazing car, and it’s honestly really fun to drive and has more than enough pep for being a tiny city car.
approx 6:00 if you go back and watch that video, Brian does differentiate between the two generations.
Except it isn't. How Honda managed to make it handle so badly and rust so easily... I will never know.
@@InsaneBimmer I think the first gen was made in Japan. Yet it was still painted with the cheapest stuff they could find 😂.
They probably wanted to cheap out even more and cut more costs with the frame.
2011 owner here! Went from 04 accord v6 to this and I love it
Man im so happy to see more and more fit videos. I own a 09 sport just 114k miles
Right on. I have a 2013 Fit sport manual with 104k. We have another 200k miles of life left!
Best fit video ive seen...EVER
To find out when vtec kicks in, just tap into the vtec solenoid wire and run a light to it. The solenoid gets +12v to open the valve. I've used the LED windsheild sprayers from Autozone as my "vtec lights" before. Just spluce the 12v source from the solenoid and ground the other wire.
I had a "problem" on my 240k 07 Fit a few days ago - engine was misfiring a little. $20 ignition coil replacement I was able to do myself.
Where did you find an ignition coil for only $20? How long did you run it with a misfire?
My son just passed his test and picked out a 2007 fit that's only done 17k, great car! Great video as well, really good job.
Thank you! I hope your son enjoys his Fit!
Year 11 with my 2012 GE8. 32 years in the car repair business. The Fit is an incredibly reliable and still relevant. I will never get rid of her.
Thanks for this video,I stil have the same one. and its second one.I love this car.
I have an 09 fit sport manual and I’m obsessed with it
I have a 2019 honda fit ex and it's my first car and honestly I can't imagine not driving it , it's so great on gas and so much space for a tiny car.
Congrats! I have a 2019 Fit, not my first car at all, but certainly my favorite. (Sorry, Integra, you were fun, but the Fit is just as fun and way more practical.)
It's so easy to park, too: small, turns well, and I can see in every direction.
Mazda 2 De with a zy-ve
nice styling, similar power, reliable, currently well priced (in Australia idk about US and other places)
Mine is a 2013 model manual with 237,000 kilometres on it or 147,264 miles. only done fluids, brakes, and recently engine mounts.
I drive a 2003 honda jazz 1.3dsi i it's petrol and manual been so reliable wouldn't buy any other car great motoring all round and it's 20 years old had it 3 years now no problems what so ever from the UK in 2023 💪🙂
imo we should keep this car more of a secret. i tell everyone my car sucks just so they don’t want one. more for me😂😅
07 1.3L Jazz here. On par with my old MX-5 as the greatest car I've ever owned. Another couple of years and these are going to be the new EG/EK Civic. K-swapped Fit/Jazz's are becoming increasingly common.
outside North America, the main rival for the fit is the Suzuki Swift. I'm considering either of them as a first car
Finally the fit is getting the attention it deserves
Thank you for your video on the 2007 Honda Fit. I also own a 2007 Honda Fit as well, purchase it new now with 18500 km. drive only 1000km a year.
Actually seeing someone driving a fit on the track is wild. I've got a 2013 sport auto (paddle shifters are fun). Great car.
easily the best Fit video no contest
what size air filter did you use??
nice video, i have a GD3, and it is a great car.
It was just an old air filter I had sitting around, not 100% on the size. It doesn't even really fit properly anyway 😅
I own a 2007 honda fit sport. All I can say about the car is that it is incredibly fun and reliable :)
Have a Grey '07 Honda Fit Sport and LOVE it
My FIT looks just like yours!
@@negil I just had my first coil pack fail the other day at 206,000 miles. Only $50 on ebay for a new set!
@@negil I also just ordered the aftermarket cruise control kit ($325) it!
Two accidents and a tree fell on my Honda fit, still drivable. $390,000 mi and counting
That's awesome! Drive it till the wheels fall off 😅
That sounds like me and my family. We use sheet metal screws and "the right stuff" caulking made by permatex every time we get in an accident with a deer. Might as well keep driving it as long as it is runable!
What a monster! I'm glad it's still going.
P.S. Did you load the tree in the back after it dropped on you?
Great Review
I love PUP! Awesome shirt dude!
Hell yeah, PUP rocks 😎
I fell in love with Fit when I first saw it in 2003 (1st gen) and still find the design is more beautiful than the later models...no offence to the later models, maybe it is just me...
I definitely like the overall look of the first gen the most, though I do like the hatch design on the second gen a little more.
As the proud owner of a third-gen Fit, I completely share your opinion about the styling. 😀
Your Fit's ground clearance looks more than normal. Do you have oversized wheels/tires installed? Thanks
Yeah, the winters are 215/60/15s, which is definitely a little big for the car. My summers are 205/60/15s, which have a bit of a lower sidewall since they have less chunky tread, and they don't hamper the turn radius at all like the 215s do
Best car EVER!!! I own 2 of them. Auto and stick. Good car for gig work.
I own an 07 fit. It is my greatest possetion!
Funny story, I'm looking to buy a 2nd gen Fit and this popped up in my feed after watching other videos.

Agree! I really like to "blast off" from 2nd gear to 3rd, good fun. 1st to 2nd is uninspiring though.
Oh Man I used to have one of these - stick shift - bright yellow . Amazing car 🚘
When did the second generation start? ?
The second generation started with the 2009 model year
I Have a 96" Honda Civic EK with a 210HP B16A.

Is the automatic transmission reliable? Or should I stick to the stick?
Looking for 1st car
Thank you 😊
I can't speak to the reliability of the automatic, but just in terms of driving experience, I would suggest trying to find a manual.
Just mike you, I already have one, and I love it 😁😁😁
2014 Honda Jazz/Fit gen 2 (one of the very last sold here, they were discounting them to get rid of remaining 2nd gen as 3rd gen just kicked in)
I have had my fit for three years now.
I'm considering mounting a ScanGuage on my dash just for the temp display. It reads off the OBDII port and can show all sorts of data.
May I ask what kind of transmission fluid can we used on honda fit GD1 2003?
Honda recommends just using their Honda Manual Transmission fluid, and considering how infrequently it needs to be changed out, I think it's worthwhile spending a little extra for the OEM fluid.
This car is on the resurgence, and I'm sorta nervous about it. I miss my GE so much, but the price needs to come down before I get another
Yeah, car prices in general are just all out of wack right now, and it's not great. Everything just keeps going up and up
In Minnesota on Facebook marketplace the FITs are going for $5000-$6000.
i drove the honda dc2 and jdm dc5 many years ago, then i had a 2009 jdm ge8 fit rs 5 speed back in 2012 and fell in love with this practical little car, 10 years later i am in Australia driving my thai made 2017 jazz gk5 5 speed, i love it but it's not the jdm i had, and i think the 2nd generation fit/jazz has the best look and build, my sister had been driving my old ge8, crashed it multiple times, just makes me sad to think about it.
i did not realize i had always been driving manual hondas until i wrote this message lol.
Someone wrote that it's "less notchy."
Do you notice a difference?
Each clutch will feel slightly different just as each car is slightly different, but I'd say the clutch in the Fit definitely needs to be eased onto a little more from a stop than some, but is super easy to rev match with. The clutch in my Insight for comparison is significantly lighter, and is definitely a little trickier to use, but I find it’s easier to do hillstarts with, but doesn't downshift or rev match as nicely. The shifter itself though is definitely the highlight of the transmission with the Fit
Great video!!
I bought my Honda Fit new in 2010 and still love it. The one thing I do not like is the a/c doesn't cool as it would in other small cars.
I don't have A/C in mine, but even just the regular fan speed is definitely somewhat lacking. Bizarrely, my car that blows the most cool air is my '84 Rabbit, which also doesn't have A/C
Love my 2015 fit!!!
Love the 07' fit. After adjusting the valves it was obvious that it was designed for easy servicing. New coils are less money than a set of iridium sparkplugs. Never going to sell this car.
Right? With car prices today, drive it til the wheels fall off
It's such a dream to do basic maintenence on!

I got a 06 Jazz here in Aus Sydney. I bought it to throw a K24a3 in it such a good car steering position is amazing and turns on a dime
I have a 2011 w/163k. Great commuter. Will drive it till it dies.
Great video sir
Only one thing wrong with this, the back bumper. IIHS says the rear bumper is not well designed, other than that, they recommend it.
I love these things. If anything happens to my STi hatch my go to car will be a cheap Honda Fit.👌
I paid $3000 for my FIT this summer. Most of them in my area are going for $5000-$6000. Affordable.

@@mrw9859 Sounds like my pickup. I only put 1000-1500 miles/year on it.
funny how im watching this video thinking about getting rid of my insight to only discover you too had a insight
Oh wow, what are the odds, hey?
What's making you want to move on from your Insight? I'd have a pretty hard time parting with mine 😅
Be sure to replace serpentine belt on schedule!
My co-worker bought a 2014 Mazda 3. He sometimes gets 40 mpg, but he also drives 5 mph under the speed limit. He is that guy.
Holy shit the ELO CDs at 5:47 got me so excited lmfao
Out of the Blue has not left this car's CD player in months. I think A New World Record is probably my favourite ELO album, but sadly I don't have that one on disc
I'd love to get one of these but cant find a 1.5 fit/jazz for sale here
Just gotta have patience! There's a lotta these cars out there
@@negil I don't think the 1.5s were really sold here in Ireland, plenty of the 1.2 and 1.3s
@@negil fair enough
A family in my city owns the 2 door echo. I have only seen 1 echo for sale in Minnesota and the owner said the frame was rusted and that it was about ready to snap in half. :(
@@mylifethaidiy7045 That's been my experience with finding echoes as well. The ones that came with the stock body kit are especially prone to rust. I only see a good deal for an echo once every 3 months or so.
I need to find a turbokit for my 07 fit
