    My work is 30 miles away. Depending on how I drive, I can make it all the way on a full charge. I also get to charge my car at work for free. The longest I have gone without having to buy gas was 4 months. I'm pretty happy with this car. ☺

      Make sure you don’t go more than three months without running your engine or the gas will spoil and ruin the engine!

    It’s fun to watch what raindrops do on that rear hatch when you’re driving. This car is extremely aerodynamic and quiet. I have the blue magnetism and I absolutely love it. Mine is a limited edition.

    Prius Prime is absolutely superior.

    I have a 2021 Prime and just drove it from Long Island to Alaska and I'm happy with it. if the battery runs down and the gas engine kicks in just hold the HV/EV button down for a few seconds and it will charge your electric battery up to 80%.

      How much gas did that take

    That hard plastic dash would make it easier to keep clean. That's a selling point for me.

    Now if only I could find one! My 191,000-mile 2008 Prius is barely hanging on.

      400k miles ? this is what makes me wanna get a prius lol

      It's unbelievable. In my onion the Prius Prime can run on electricity only so the engine will be used less so it can last longer.

      I don’t believe you have the same battery. Those batteries poop out after 10 years at most

      I’ve got an 18 year old 2nd gen, still on original battery. I’m only at 100k miles tho.

    I owned a Hyundai Ioniq plug in, the reason why it’s less efficient is because it has no heat pump so anytime you run the heat the has engine turns on. You cannot lock it out. During the winter months this is a pain since I am unable to preheat the car when plugged in. The Kona and Niro plug in also have no heat pump. If You want to use EV only you can just don’t turn on the heater for anything,

    My buddy has a 45 mile round trip commute and says he gets 95% of it in EV by using the gas at the stop signs and lights. After he gets up to speed he goes into EV mode. Pretty cool.

    • @bennri
      @bennri 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Isn't that the opposite of how you want to use it? Hybrid is best for stop and go, gasoline for highway constant speed. not challenging you, just asking seriously

    • @f0t0b0y
      @f0t0b0y 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@bennri This is a plug in hybrid with only 25 miles of pure electric. He get's 45 miles of mostly electric because he uses the gas to get the car up to speed before switching back to electric only. The amount of electric used to get the Prius up to speed is a big drain on the battery. Hope that helps.

    • @Orangemo
      @Orangemo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bennri That’s right when you are in stop and go traffic use EV on the freeway with light traffic use hybrid engine

    • @triforcelink
      @triforcelink 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I doubt it makes any difference. Acceleration is what uses most of your gas/electricity. The engine consumes more gas when it’s under load, if that makes sense.

    What color does this car look like in person? Look up imagines online I see its color looking anywhere between greenish-turquoise to bright vibrant blue.

    Trying to get my head around the prime, I heard it mentioned that it can run as a hybrid. Does that mean that when running the ICE motor it is also charging the battery?

    • @SngGenius
      @SngGenius 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it can charge in hybrid mode,but even better you can charge it continuously by holding the HV/EV(@5.22 in the video) for about 3 seconds.Then you are in 'charge mode' so the engine will keep turn all the time!

    • @Cordycep1
      @Cordycep1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can force it to charge the battery but that suck the performance badly , and it will consume more gas. So not worth it unless you need to climb a mountain.

    where is spare tire in 2020 prius prime if you get a flat on a road in the middle of NEVADA DESERT in the middle of the summer ?

    • @playboy68able
      @playboy68able 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They don’t have spares, they have a chemical to pump in the tire to seal the leak.

  • @baldheadlogic

    I totally understand that this car is the reason why Toyota is pretty much the hybrid car leader at least for the "value brands." However, this styling is just not attractive inside or outside. I hope that a Camry Prime is developed with the electric motor in the rear. JMHO.

    Very less cargo . You need small bucket . Not spear tire . It good if you drive car only 15 km in whole life . When it’s on high way it’s consumed double amounts of gas . Pick is very less some .byCycle can pass you . . 5 hours take just charge 25 miles . And in 15 minutes it finish . Better to by prime only. It’s real experience.

    I actually don't mind most of the styling - it's eccentric in a unique, quirky way that appeals to the non-conformist in me. But I can't stand the mishmash of indented black plastic at the grill; it looks like totally random cost-saving, to me. :^/ Aside from the plastic, though, I like the sheetmetal at the front better than on the non-plugin Prius.
