Probadly the best car ever build. My old eleven year old Toyota Auris ( European baby Prius ) is still running like a new one, without any problem at all.
So let me get this straight... The car gives you 25miles on electric, from a regular outlet.... And it doesn't touch the gas, unless you use up all the electric first ?! So technically, you could leave your house, run a few errands...be back at the house, and possibly never touch the gas, plug it back in...and do it all again the next day ?! Sounds pretty sweet ! lol.
Yep, but I would suggest to run that ICE engine at least once a week for a while, or the petrol engine is going bad over time. Nothing worse than a petrol engine that doesn't work.
Good info. I think I would take the lower trim just to avoid that touch screen. Plus you could upgrade the radio if you were keeping this 10+ years. This would be perfect range wise as my work is 13km away.
Look, I have a 2021 Prius! I have NEVER been beaten off a red light with my car! Why? Because, it is not just horsepower but also the torque and especially the driver! I have beaten Mustangs, Cameros, a hemi truck, and even a Harley! Now, yes, I only get 40 mpg but who cares!?
Also I believe Toyota officially releases all the details in the new Tundra tonight so maybe that will reveal some insights on where the entire lineup is heading.
You’re right. I had an embargoed few hours with the Tundra last week and I think you’ll be quite happy with the news direction. Official info released at 2100 today.
I noticed the wheels on your test car are different from what I am used to seeing for the Prius Prime (2020 - 2022) models. They look like the wheels from UK/Europe Prius models. Was this a N. American car (Canadian) model??
Awesome review, I"m deciding between this and the Hyundai IONIQ Plug-In Hybrid. I wish the base model had passenger door "touch" unlock, seems to silly not to put that sensor there to save a few $$$. I also can't upgrade to the big touch screen you have, it doesn't have Android Auto (yes I know...WHAT?).
As someone who switched from Lexus/Toyo to Hyundai in 2018, you should know the car designs are GREAT but the dealers ruin the entire experience. Serve dept errors, scheduling problems, lies, it has become sh!t at this point and I'm ready to trade out after trying 5 different dealers in 3 years.
@@Modern.Motoring I am getting my car tomorrow. I hope I made a good choice. I intend to keep it a long time. I know Toyota might reengineer this model in 2023!
@@mdkhalidrahman2832 It’s a car for a particular type of driver. I drive it around town, for short, stop and go errands. Limited load carrying capacity. On the highway its like driving a Corolla, but a bit less passing power. You will have no problem driving it like a regular hybrid car an travel 400kms to another town, as it takes regular gas and gives great mileage 6 or less litres per 10kms
Fast enough for getting on interstates. Just bought a 2022 and surprised by how it drives. Thanks for doing a video on this vehicle.

The benefits of electrification!

Yes and no. In the winter the cars engine WILL run. You can have 100% and the car will go back and forth between gas and ev.

My son's 2021 plug-in Prime gets 109 mpg.
The handbrake is interesting. Have to use your left foot.... Wish it had more boot space and a spare tyre. It is such a lovely smooth drive though.

Because the shape will change soon, is it better to rent or to buy ?

That’s odd. Yep, Canadian spec for what’s on screen.
@@Modern.Motoring THANKS!
Great review again and again
Thank you, my friend!!!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Snagged a used one with 55k miles and still got the rebate
Higher insurance rates?
Does it comes with spare tire?
No
Big letdown for me
And NO sunroof either. The no spare tire and no sunroofs are the only reasons for me to not get them.

I'm screwed when it comes to the metric system...
Is it ok for me to buy the base model. ?thanks for the review
Sure is.
