The Prius Prime does have an adjustable Heads Up Display!! Also has a Charge Mode that will allow the engine to charge the EV part of the battery to get built-up EV range!!
I just picked up an advanced model about two weeks ago and I have to say I am very pleased with this car. If the small EV range or plug-in hybrid concept makes you wary, think again about your driving habits. The concept Toyota has come up with with this vehicle may just be perfect for some, as it is for me. I work about 23 miles one-way, can charge at home, at work, and even at some shopping centers and businesses during my lunch if I wish. My Prius even texts me when it's done charging, and I can use the finder app to find it in a huge parking lot. I love to have the gas engine there ready to go if I need it. I don't think it's ugly at all, I think it has a very distinct and modern styling in fact. I love new gadgets too and this car feels like I'm driving one. Can't wait to get my rebates and HOV lane stickers. This car is amazing for my needs and I couldn't be happier with it. So again, ask yourself how you'd be using it and how it might fit your lifestyle where a pure EV or gas engine vehicle might not.
@@timothyalvarado5315 25 mile you save 2-5 dollars gas ⛽ 5 times a week that is $10-20 dollars saving a week and $100 saving a month and $1200 saving a year on gas, little by little if you can keep Prius prime for 10 years you can save $20k-25k gas money.
Great review on a very sensible car. Two Priuses later...combined total 250000 miles plus and less than a few hundred bucks in service and repair work. Very well built cars
I drive under 10 urban miles a day between work and raising 2 teens. I love the prime idea of using just electric for my daily commutes. I’ll be ready to buy my next car in about 2 years, it’ll be this or another hybrid/prime model.
I've had the Prius PHV since February 2018 and I really love the mop. A total of 6x petrol (mostly approx. 40 l) and electricity whenever possible at 14,500 KM. The average consumption so far is 1.7 ltr. hot! On the highway at 120 km / h and cruise control, the current consumption is 2.5 ltr. displayed. In charge mode, here the petrol engine charges the large battery with increased consumption, the consumption increases to 3.2 ltr. However, the battery is also charged 1: 1 here. So 100 mtr. drive = 100 mtr. Range in the battery. All in all, a very good investment in a very good vehicle, which I absolutely do not regret. And another advantage - if you come to an illegal or non-functioning e-charging station with a plug-in, you continue with petrol. Which is not possible with a pure electric car. And there is unfortunately no help from the authorities in the event of parking violations at e-charging stations. In this way, FAS never becomes involved with the federal government's e-mobility.
For those just now watching this. Yes, you can set your 2017 Prius Prime to recharge the hybrid battery while driving. He states in this video that you cannot, but that is not correct. It is one of the great features to allow a full recharge of the battery without having to plug it in. Just hold the HV/Ev button down for 2 seconds and it goes into charge mode.
Funny to hear someone say JBL doesn't have cache. They've been making world class speakers and inventing the basis for today's designs since most of the cache'd names were in diapers!
The design is gorgeous! What are these haters thinking looks good? The VOLT, that looks like a stuffy conservative midwesterner?? I can't stand the looks of that thing!
I'm not a fan of Toyota's new exterior designs. I really don't like all the cheap shiny plastic on the interior of this new Prius. White leather looks nice new, but will stain quick. But I think Miles does an excellent job reviewing cars, so I'll give this video a thumbs up because of him.
Thanks for review. Good and i think best PI-hybrid and best reliability like first 3 gen prius. If price in my country past 3 years will be in half a buy him.
When the Bolt runs out of juice you simply plug-in. More conveniently you plug-in every night and wake up every morning with 238 miles of electric range.
Can you completely turn off the big display screen -- so that it only comes back on after you push a button? First and second gen Prii displays cannot be completely turned off. They come back on automatically when you are scanning the radio.
You sir are Wrong. The car has a Charge mode which lets you Charge the Battery Pack as you Drive. Then allowing you to switch back over to EV when the pack reaches its maximum 80% (in charge mode)
Anyone with the white seats, how is it holding up? Getting dirty easily? Change of shade like the guy said? Trying to decide whether to go black or white. Thanks!
Good Evening. Two weeks ago I purchased a 2018 Prius Prime and have experienced a issue when putting the car into reverse and then pressing the brake pedal it makes like a "tok" noise and was wondering if this is normal?
My thing is why don't they make it more powerful. The main reason I went with a Camry Hybrid because the acceleration is pretty terrible for a 2016/17 Prius model. The economy is better but my fuel range is only about 40 miles less overall.
I ride 10 miles on my bike to and from work and such, sure. I guess if you "needed" to drive, bad infra, little choice.. then I can see the benefit. 25 miles would cover all the driving we do, when we do.

HUD is adjustable and Prius Prime does have a charge mode that allows it to recharge its high voltage battery while commuting.
Thank you! I was just about to leave the same comment. Glad someone else knows this as well.
How do you get the Prime into its charge mode? Is there a switch to press; if so, where is the switch located?
Press and hold the HV/EV button until the green charge mode icon appears
Thanks
hellodlo yes it does

Velosiped is it worth charging for 3-5hrs for Only 25miles??

I think he's wrong about NOT being able to charge the battery from the engine. There's a mode I read about that does just that!
You're right, I believe that, if you press the HV/EV button for a few seconds, then it goes into Battery Charge Mode.
The Heads-Up Display (HUD) CAN be adjusted in its position and brightness. Cool review tho

Really good looking car, Toyota is on the right track
The regular 2016 Prius has a 1.2kWh or 1.4kWh traction battery. The old Prius Plug-In (2012-2015) had a 4.4kWh lithium-ion battery.

I feel bad for all those who say it's ugly lol... were it just for you, we'd still be going around on Ford T's.
HUD is adjustable

To force charge mode press HV/EV button for 3 secs.

Would have been useful to see the boot opening. Do the deats fold back etc.

Nicely done
It's the Pontiac Aztek of plug in cars.
How can you make a review video without exploring the car in depth? Those HUD are adjustable since 2009 Prius.
Where is the sunroof???
You can buy this car in Valencia CA $26,500.00!!!!!!
220 miles?
Battery energy is measured in kilowatt-HOURS, not just "kilowatts". Car reviewers should really know better.
@Omega Jew Learn what smug is. Knowing the difference and mentioning it is not smug.
Plenty of head room??? You are touching the ceiling when you said that

Please correct this awful review. HUD is adjustable and the regular battery is about .75kwh so this one is almost 10 times the size!
What kind of juice? Apple, orange? Can't you just go to the store and buy more juice?
cars are supposed to carry 4 people
It seems old now.
why aerodynamic? not even fast
Great car, if I leave one kid at home...
5 times the regular hatch back…
WAit but EV mode only can be certain speed right??? So you still gonna use GAS!
up to 84mph
Just get a bicycle 😉

Thank god this guy is cute because he has no idea what he’s talking about....
God, those baby wheels are so hideous. It looks like it's on its tippie toes.
More than enough for hauling 1 person around. May not stand a chance for horrible roads and gravel.
the eye level I think because it originally made for asian, who usually a bit shorter than westerners
Why toyota is failing so hard at design lately? Its horrendous....
Matt B it is fabulous! drive ford
Wow…super misinformed review.👎🏻
Why can't it just look like a regular car? It's so ugly!
Too expensive your not saving any money on gas because the car is over priced.
$24k after tax incentives, lower in some places. That's comparable to other midsized vehicles. When was the last time you bought a new car?
why does it have to be so fugly?!
Zzzzzzzzz.......
What a hideous automobile...
Interesting to read those 3 years old hideous comments when now 2020 heading 2021 models, not so any more! It truly is a eye of a beholder!
